Instead of them offering me an apology and to fix it... FOUR other technicians, including the two heads girls, became argumetive and confrontational! They also speak about you and laugh in their language when you (1) ask a question or (2) appear to be unsatisfied or (3) speak up for yourself! What a disguating way to do business when people ARE PAYING YOU FOR A SERVICE! Mediocre pedicure service too every time I went here. Reporting to the BBB. UPDATE 12/2/19 - 3 days later nails started to crack... 9 days after this service several cracks on multiple nails. I called asking for Nicole to do my nails and I find out they sold the business. I was really disappointed. But decided to give them a chance. As soon as I walked in it smelled like sewage but they greeted me nicely. It was empty. As the nail tech begins my acrylic set everything seems ok so far. But towards the end she begins drilling my nails and all around my fingers. I left bleeding. But that's not the worst part. I get home and noticed there's acrylic still over my cuticles. And the tips is not even fitted on my nail. There is space between each of my finger nails and the nail. Also the shape is just not what I would like it to be. I asked for coffin they look more square than anything. I literally made this account just to leave this review. I really miss old management. I don't think they will last long at all. I have read a lot of bad reviews but decided to give this place a try since it's super close to my house. I loved this place. I went yesterday (Wednesday around 5pm). The place was empty, the receptionist gave me all the info I asked and was pleasant. I got a pedi and gel mani. Jill took amazing care of me. She took her time with my pedi, from the removing of dark nail polish (I say this because I was getting a light color and I've had experiences when people don't take off the color from the edges and it looked sloppy), scrubbing my feet and legs, the leg massage and then finishing the massage with the hot stone... LOVED IIT! She topped it off with the paraffin wax on my heels. Great pedi for only $19. My feet look brand new. The shape and size of my nails are perfect. The nail polish was done perfectly as well. My gel mani was great as well! My cuticles were cut perfectly, without any pain or discomfort. The color and design are exactly what I wanted. Again, she took her time, listened to and did what I asked for and did a great job. Then ending with a nice shoulder massage. (I just hope the polish stays for at least a week. I use hand sanitizer and wash my hands multiple times a day during work so I know I can't expect much) I will definitely be returning and recommending her to my friends and family. read more

P.S.: I took off my tips and they made sure to take off every once of acrylic! Love it Update: This is my third time doing a gel manicure at this place. The second time my polish chipped and still I went back to give this nail salon another try. This time my gel manicure is turning colors and they have little holes in the polish. I don't know if it's their polish or top coats but my experiences the second and third time aren't the best. The employees are wonderful but my gel manicure is horrible. For $25 I except it to be semi perfect. & YES! Those are my real nails not artificial nails or attachments on them. I spend a lot of time the area and it can be exhausting driving to Nassau county and queens to get my services done. I figured it would be great to have a back up salon near by. I was excited to see that the new Greybarn had a nail salon in their building. 1st the decor leaves lots to be desired. The place looks like it's furnished with corporate office furniture. No color, no spa feel. The outside looks better than the inside. That was disappointing but not enough to leave. 2nd. The woman who did my nails was named Yoyo, she was nice enough but she did my nails in such haste. I had to ask her if she had another client coming in, The reason i asked is because another woman comes in and is seated at the pedicure chair. The receptionist keeps peeking over to check YOYOs progress with my nails and speaking to her in their language. Considering the fact that i didn't have an appointment. I told her i would wait. (I was in no rush) she said yes stood up and then the receptionist comes over... 3rd. She comes over and asked me what's wrong with your nails. O_o. I said i feel like she's rushing so i told her i would wait if she has another client. She said she doesn't have another client. I said ok. She said you don't want her to do your nails? I said i didn't say that, i said she's rushing and i didn't have an appointment so i said to her that i would wait instead of her rushing. She said well she doesn't have another client and she shouldn't be rushing. She told me you said you don't want her to do your nails. I said i didn't say that. Can i add that this chick was so intimidating it felt like she had beef. I almost felt the need to stand up to answer her questions, just in case. She needs to work on her customer service skills. (Rolls eyes) Anyway after a lil bit i realized all three techs were racing to get the next client who was in the pedicure chair. Smh. The vibe was off, the staff dressed poorly like they had on pajamas, and the decor and service were ugly. Look at the pics of my nails. She put on 5 coats on gel and tried to put on more. I'm like no thank you. She never let my nails sit in under the lamp long enough and left polish all over my fingers. When i was leaving the receptionist was like. Let me see i heard you say something about thick. I showed her my nails and she tried to act like she didn't see the gel all over my cuticles and fingers. Lmao. I can't. Honestly i felt bad for Yo-yo cause at the end she tells me that she didn't understand what i was saying cause people tell her they don't want her to do their nails. I almost tipped her just for pulling at my heart strings but after paying for a $25 bs manicure and dealing with a bully of a receptionist, i decided to keep my money. Today i received a fill in and pedicure. I was so happy with my nails. When I walked in there was not a wait and they took me immediately. I had to cracked nails and the technician was gentle with taking off the old nails. I had a specific picture that i wanted my nails to be done like and I was satisfied with my nails. My pedicure was everything!!!!! Omg I received the best pedicure ever!!!! I loved the man who did my pedicure. My sister in law met me for the pedicure part and she was so glad she came!!' It is the first time in a long time that I showed up to a nail salon without first looking up their reviews. Experience has taught me to do my homework before stepping into new territory, however - my nail tech did a great job and more importantly, treated me nicely! I can't say this is always the case at a busy nail salon. While my technician was in fact talking on the phone (making some sort of personal apt.), and did leave my side to attend other matters twice, she was quick and efficient. Additionally, the prices were reasonable and they were straightforward about their charges from the beginning. Came in for a wax and was pleasantly surprised in the indoor vicinity size. This place is much smaller than I'd like but they were very friendly. There are about 6 pedi spa chairs and two rows of maybe three nail stations. They appear to be pretty fast and efficient though but for a nail salon, it was too quiet, kinda scary. I'm used to folks in New Orleans talking non stop in the nail salon. Speaking of scary, this is about to be sooooo off topic but I have to mention it because this is Amityville. Remember the movie Amityville Horror House? Well I googled the address (211 Ocean Avenue) and it's only 2.6 miles away from here and I went like a dummy lol. To my surprise, that home has been demolished and they're selling the land. Creepy right? At first they put quality in their work, but I can now say that this is one of the worst nail salons that I have been to. They always seem to be busy when I call and when I do get a spot in this salon, they are always rushing or matching me with a nail tech if I can even call them nail techs that cannot even do acrylics correctly. My nails always turn out badly shaped and the lady never seems to miss a chance to cut my cuticles to the point where I'm literally bleeding. On top of that, they charge me for a design when all I did was put one line on my nail. Unlike other salons, you can count on these to pop off in a week or less. I hate when the nails are rough underneath and she went over them twice. I prefer them square with edges rounded and she did exactly that! this was my first time going here and i have to say they gave me the best manicure i've had a in a long time. I got a UV gel manicure fill in and a regular pedicure and I am beyond pleased. The nail techs were so thorough and consistent with each nail. The pedicure included hot stones and hot wax and she even gave me a little towel for over my legs (i think because i was wearing shorts). Price for both the fill in and pedi was around $50 which is very fair and definitely cheaper than the last place i went to. A mom and her two kids were arriving as I was, and I held the door for them to enter before me. They were greeted first and she was quickly seated to begin her service. When one of the women (Monica - see her "review" below!) working asked me what she could help me with, I told her I needed a polish change and she told me she and one other employee were the only two women working that day, and I would need to wait 45 minutes for them to take care of my maximum 10-minute service. One star for the business for being willing to let money walk out the door and allowing two small children to hang around the salon, and one star for the woman who I held the door for for not being courteous enough to let me get my quick polish change done first since I had arrived first. read more

For this to be a new spot, I was extremely underwhelmed. I went two Sundays ago and I was immediately serviced as I was the only patron. My manicure was lack luster. There was nothing that set his salon apart from any other manicure I have received and for the record, I DID NOT receive a milk manicure as indicated on their flyer. (Says comes with regular manicure) There was nothing in the water which my nails were soaked in. It was just luke warm water in a bowl. As for the the aesthetics is the salon, I was looking for a more well put together, calming and beautiful decor. It was actually a bit messy and oddly decorated. I didn't get a relaxing vibe at all while there. I definitely didn't feel like I should come here over the other nail salons I frequent in the area. I probably won't return. read more

The pedicure was not rushed at all. Very sanitary the way they handle everything especially the pedicure! You pay for what you get I guess. I went in for a fill in because my friend suggested this place to me after she had a great gel mani done. Me? Not so much. My fill in was SOOO RUSHED.. didn't shape my nails how I wanted.. didn't even cut my cuticles. The girl was rushing (mean while there was no one there waiting) and you can clearly tell by my photo that my nails don't even look the same. My pointer finger is a completely different shape from the rest. She made my nails so thin that I broke a nail the following day by SCRATCHING MY LEG. Their prices are great I only paid $20 for a fill in but my normal salon only charges me $10 more and I get exceptional service. Never going back here again! read more
