We scheduled a meeting to get a quote for construction for an ADU. The customer service lady was really nice. Where things went down hill was when the contractor came. He was really rude. Whenever I had a question he would put his hand on my face before I could finish talking. He said he couldn't give me an estimate of the construction. My thought was: if you can't give me a ball park estimate, why are you here wasting my time? When he left he proceeded to ask me if it was only me. My husband and I hired pearl contractors for three jobs: (1) to build a deck and patio cover on the back of our house (2) to build a gate on our driveway, and (3) to design and install built in cabinetry in our living room. We had a great experience Pearl Remodeling and with our project manager, Avi, in transitioning our existing garage/loft space into a one bedroom ADU. We knew we needed an architect to help with the project, but firms weren't interested in taking us on as clients due to the scope of the work being too small. This is why we went with a design build firm. From start to finish communication was excellent - frequent, proactive, and detailed. Avi was very available, responsive and accessible so that we were able to get questions answered quickly, as well as make quick decisions to ensure the timeline for the project continued moving forward. We felt like we had a clear sense of the various phases of the project and what was needed to realize our vision and meet our timeline. We were also kept regularly informed about the specifics of what was happening when, and when inspections were occurring. The project was completed in what seemed to us like record time - they began demo on May 23 and the project was mostly completed by the end of August. Simply amazing! Izhak and his team from Pearl Remodeling did an unbelievable job in converting our unfinished garage into a beautiful ADU. So beautiful in fact that my wife and I joke about moving out of the main house and into it. From the very first meeting with Izhak, we could sense his heart and knew we were in good hands. I recently got my wall soundproofed for my studio condominium in Downtown Los Angeles. I am pleased to report that my experience was very pleasant and the quality of work was excellent. For a family in our late twenties, looking for a home, buying a home, and now renovating a home easily tops our list for some of the most thrilling and also stressful times of our lives. In comes Pearl Remodeling. My wife and I found Pearl through Yelp, and while there was a copious number of positive reviews, we were still scared going in our full large scale remodel. Work required: Full remodel of 2 bathrooms (showers and free standing tub), update over 20 lights into recessed lights, redo all the flooring in the house (including washroom tiles), and paint. As I am writing this review, we are through a big chunk of the work, however we felt compelled to write it now and help out anyone else who is considering home remodeling. The scope of work to us was massive, and we really didn't even know how to get started. Luckily and as cliched as it might be, we are very glad that we had Izhak, David and Eric on our side for this remodel. Starting from the RFQ period, Izhak's team made it blatantly clear that how they plan on winning the bid is through quality of work, dedication to the details, and commitment to managing scope. All three of these aspects were critical success factors for us, and Izhak's team has done all of the above and beyond. Favorite Part of Working with the team: Their design sense, and their flexibility to meet you in the middle. It truly feels like Izhak's team goes out of their way to make sure that you are taken care of, and that is extremely reassuring. In October of 2017 I began interviewing contractors to do extensive, six figure renovations on my on my home. The job was big, and included, but wasn't limited to, a complete kitchen and bath remodel--we're talking gutting everything down to the studs and knocking down walls--complete interior paint job, and installing new windows, doors, and floors throughout the house. I interviewed six contractors, and Izhak Eskayo of Pearl Remodeling immediately distinguished himself from them all. His estimate and time frame for completing the work was more than fair, and at our initial planning meeting, Izhak gave me over two hours of his time, patiently answering all of my questions, offering his considerable design expertise, and allaying any fears I might have. Izhak and his crew began work on my home in December, and although I was nervous--I'd heard horror stories about contractors, and this was, after my home, the biggest purchase I had ever made--Izhak's honesty, integrity, and knowledge of construction quickly put me at ease. He even went so far as to accompany me on trips to the store to choose tile and a vanity--what contractor does that?!--in addition to also coming with me to the flooring store, and even to Home Depot to help me with design ideas and to pick out supplies! If ever an unforeseen expense came up, and they usually do with a job of this magnitude, Izhak quickly took care of it and at a more than reasonable price. With the bathroom for example, which was over fifty years old, we discovered some pipes under the house that needed to be replaced. In this instance, the contractor could really have his customer over a barrel, but Izhak quickly and fairly took care of this problem for me. To me, though, what Izhak did for my neighbor says everything you need to know about him. My neighbor is an elderly infirm man and needed a safety rail installed to help him up the step on his front porch. He saw Izhak and his crew working on my house and nervously approached them (my neighbor is on a fixed income and can't afford much), and Izhak had his worker complete what was easily at least a hundred dollar safety rail installation job and only asked my neighbor to buy his worker lunch. My initial thoughts about his honesty and integrity were confirmed. Izhak and his crew finished the job on schedule, and I absolutely love my new home! I am thrilled I made the choice to work with Izhak, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. The man takes a great deal of pride in what he does, and he worked on my home as if it was his own. If ever I had a problem or concern during the job, Izhak's answer was always simple: "No problem, I'll take care of it," he'd say. And it never was a problem, and he always did take care of it! We have been wanting to add a bathroom and reconnect a separated room for some time. We were very weary about hiring a contractor due to horror story's we have heard from friends. We did out interviews and ended up going with Pearl Remodeling. Our project manager Gal and his project supervisor Ofir were amazing. They took the time to do proper permits and research with LAUSD. Set Proper expectations. Performed better than expected in terms of time frame and quality of work. I would use them again and am already consulting with them about some other more minor projects at the moment. Gal is super communicative. I can always get ahold of him, and he does not make us feel bad for calling and asking what may be silly questions. If extra work was needed upon discovery he did not make a big deal about it. We felt his main goal was our happiness. There was one time we had a small issue where my neighbors sprinkler plumbing was ran over by a truck. There was no proof it was from the workers but Gal immediately fixed the issue on the same day it came up with no questions asked. This crew is top notch and I would recommend them to family and friends. They helped us put in an amazing steam shower in a nice very large modern bathroom. It was simply a closet before. It required drilling into a concrete foundation to add plumbing and the fixtures I got would have intimidated most other contractors. We installed a Kohler DTV + Showering system with touch panel and multiple outlets with speakers and special lighting and steam. It is by far the most high tech shower on the block. We also reconnected a bedroom with in ceiling speakers and added 3 windows and a sliding door as well as a barn door thru out for ergonomic entry. We also had out laundry room re designed for more space and easier access. Their permit guy Campbell seemed to know the inner working of LA county real well and what was code and so on. Inspections were a breeze. They made sure someone was here when the inspectors came so we were almost completely hands off. They never pushed me. Allowed me time to make decisions and order the finishing I want even if it meant pushing out the project a bit. I can't say enough how great and professional this crew is... First time doing a remodeling work in our condo home in Downtown LA, and we were very nervous finding the right contractor that could provide great and honest work. Found Pearl Remodeling through Yelp and was excited reading so many great reviews. We met Omer our project manager and he gave us the quote to remodel the kitchen and bathroom plus creating extra cabinets and bar area in the dinning room, recess lighting in our hall and sconces in the living room. After much deliberation with my wife, we decided to go with Pearl and with Omer. We also met Rick who helped us design the kitchen and was there to give us tips along the way with Omer. The crew that came to do the work were nice and hard working and we felt comfortable talking to them and asking them how the project was going and always got great feedback and response and one of the regulars were Erick who was always a phone or txt away to answer any questions or concerns. When I moved into my partners' home, we instantly realized that the tiny pedestal sink in his master bathroom was NOT going to be enough counter space for the both of us. My wife and I recently purchased a new home that was in serious need of cosmetic updates. We interviewed eight or nine contractors before selecting Pearl Remodeling. We wanted to complete all major renovations before moving in and we wanted to move in as soon as possible. Pearl Remodeling suggested several excellent options for installing quality updates to our home with a very aggressive timeline. They promised a professionally designed new kitchen, master bathroom, walk-in closet, and new flooring throughout our home would be completed in 10 weeks. We moved in 8 weeks later. An excellent contractor is more than short timelines and high quality work. With a project of this size, something is bound to go wrong. How quickly and politely the contractor responds to problems is a major part of the renovation experience. In our case, Pearl Remodeling regularly addressed issues quickly and efficiently. For example, when we noticed some anomalies in the floor plan for the master bathroom that led to incorrect framing and plumbing, the guys at Pearl provided an updated floor plan and corrected all the framing and plumbing mistakes within two work days. Our patio project included demolishing a massive deteriorating concrete slab, replacing it with Belgard pavers and putting up a lattice patio. After shopping around for quite a number of bids, we selected Pearl Remodeling because they were the most honest, helpful and pleasant to work with. I was skeptical of all the positive reviews on Yelp at first, but now have no hesitations to recommend them to anyone looking for a contractor. They were not the lowest bid, but they did provided us a very professional level of work and in most cases met or exceeded expectations. That is not to say we didn't hit a few snags & worrisome issues: 1) The demolition crew inadvertently ran over our sprinkler with a bobcat and snapped it right off. Pearl remodeling took care of replacing said broken sprinkler and the gentleman that took care of it also checked all the other sprinklers. 2) The clean-up crew threw away our leftover pavers that we had intended for use in another project without first asking us. A quick call to Pearl and they were able to sort it out. 3) On the recommendation of Pearl Remodeling's foreman, we went with their regular supplier to save on cost-- in hindsight we should have stuck with our original supplier whom we already vetted. This cheaper supplier would not give us our pallet deposit back and claimed that the Pearl crew never returned them. After a few calls back and forth, this supplier began to ignore all my calls altogether. I reached out to Izhak and he was able to settle the problem for me and gave me a resolution I am happy with. When all was said and done, our backyard renovation completed 3 weeks ahead of schedule and our patio now looks great! Bravo Pearl Remodeling! My fiance and I just finished our first remodel with our first home, which felt very stressful and overwhelming right from the outset, especially in the midst of planning a wedding and being busy lawyers. Gal was the first contractor we met with, and he was very personable, thorough and a good salesman. We compared every other contractor we met with to him and they did not measure up. When we met with him he was able to approximate the cost of our small project (refinish deck, painting inside, new lighting, new floors, new kitchen, new windows, new bathrooms) and his final bid came in very close to his initial guess. Even better, his quote was far and away more competitive than others we received, some of which were higher and could not do all of the work we wanted done. Gal's team worked with speed, and helped us select and acquire some of the materials we needed for our project (like baseboards and exhaust fans). That was such a relief to us because the multitude of decisions made to select the different components that go into the house was exhausting. If there was any confusion about whether a decision was ours or theirs, all it took was a text or two to Gal expressing our frustration and he took care of it. There are some details that we believe might have been sacrificed for the purpose of speed, but speed was more important to us, especially in the final weeks as we had to move out of our apartment and were in temporary quarters. Gal was responsive to our concerns as fast as he could be (given that our renovations were happening over the holidays). We appreciated that. Again, Pearl will get in and take care of you fast. And Gal has offered to help us with a few things we are uncertain about in the coming weeks, something we also appreciate as we are still deciding if we like certain things, and it is a relief that our contractor is still offering to help us if we need it. read more

It took me an entire year to decide to renovate my 1963 house. I had the names and contact numbers of three construction companies but in the end, I decided to contact the fourth company I found on Yelp, Pearl Remodeling. Izhak Eskayo is the Project Manager they assigned to me. He came to my house on a Sunday afternoon on time (but I wasn't home) and he patiently waited until I arrived.
