Horrible experience!! I brought in four dresses for alterations and patiently waited as the man helping me went back and forth between me and other customers. He spoke very little, wasn't at all friendly, but that wasn't the issue. After he finished pinning my last dress, a customer asked for my opinion on a pair of pants she had altered there. The zipper was noticeably crooked and the one of the sides of the pants looked uneven. I agreed with her concerns, and she asked that the pants be fixed. He insisted they just needed ironing. As I was checking out, I asked him, "How will you be fixing the sleeve to this dress?" His response was, "This is my job, I don't have to tell you how I'm going to fix it." I didn't realize how rude that was in the moment, so I calmly said I just wanted to know if he planned to cut the fabric (which that is what I wanted) because I was concerned it might end up looking bulky if he just shrink the elastic of the sleeve (which is what he mentioned he was going to do). He suddenly began unpinning the sleeves and told me, "You ask too many questions--go do it yourself or take it to someone else." Then he proceeded to unpin the rest of my dresses and said he wouldn't do the alterations for all others either. His passive aggressive behavior was shockingly rude. All I could say was "you are so rude" grabbed my items while he was unpinning them, and proceeded to walk out. The sweet customer who was still there heard it and kindly apologized on his behalf even asked him to apologize to me. I told her she did not need to apologize for him--he should be the one apologizing, he never looked at me and did not say a word, To the sweet lady: I truly hope they fixed those pants for you, because they didn't look right and that was not an ironing issue, I also hope you find a better place next time. And to the front desk man who treated me so disrespectfully: If you're going to have such a poor attitude, the least you could do is lower your prices, improve your customer service, and learn how to handle more complex alterations. You can't have a business & treat people like that. And what I am seeing, similar situations have happened before to others. read more

Meh. I have been here for alterations before which were fine, I believe this will be my last time. The dress had a band around waist, which was taken up on the sides. I received it back with the band barely hanging on,... I've been coming here since 2021 and I can honestly say this is a great place to have your clothing altered. I'm 4'11 so naturally, dresses and other items don't fit me properly. I've come in at times where I needed an outfit altered in hours and he always gets it done. His work is great. It's so great that even though I moved, I still drive 45-50 minutes just to bring my business to him. So far so good! I went in with my sister to have her wedding dress hemmed and bustled. The prices were extremely reasonable compared to everywhere else we looked. My only complaint is that this place can get quit busy and only one person was working there when we went in on a Friday afternoon. The gentleman told us that the dress will be ready mid-September (about 15 days from when we went in), which I thought was very reasonable. I brought in a brand new suit on a Tuesday afternoon which had to have a lot taken in and altered on both the slacks and jacket and I picked it up on a Friday morning as they told me it would be ready and they also dry cleaned it and everything came out good. This was my second visit here. The next day I received a phone from there telling me I forgot my hanger that came with the suit and they would hold it for me. That was a bonus. I've come here three times and have always been very satisfied with the work they do on my garments. Twice I have come for simple hemming of long dresses, but the last time I came is when they really impressed me. I brought my maid of honor dress here after becoming absolutely frustrated with David's Bridal's work. I completely HATED my dress because in the picture on David's Bridal's website, my dress was supposed to be very form fitting but it wasn't at all. I asked the lady at Pearland Alterations if she could "slim" down my dress to make it look like the picture. In two seconds she pinned my dress and told me she'd have it ready in a week. I left the shop weary, doubting that anyone could make the dress look like the picture. One week later I came back highly skeptical... put on the dress... and like switch, I was in love! I have to say I don't understand the price difference between hemming formal pants ($8 - about 2 years ago) and gemming a tube dress ($18) for which all the prep-work was already done by my mother who is a seamstress and the only thing left to do was to put it through the machine for blind hemming. You may ask, why didn't my mother finish the work? Well, she leaves overseas and does not bring her machine when she comes visit. . Again, the shop did a great job when I had to bring in my pants a couple years back. But they are not super friendly, no transparency on the price (no sign showing the prices) and have no flexibility in price based on the work that needs to be done... read more

I did not run out without paying - you told me since you didn't fix the dress and I had to take it elsewhere I was not required to pay. Your seamstress said otherwise. I was not going to pay for an unfinished product. In the essence of submitting a review, please be accurate, your facts are simply wrong. Since I left your establishment, I have taken the dress to another tailor and they did an outstanding job. The dress is perfect. I came here to have my pant scrub altered and long sleeve shirt button fixed. The initial contact was straight and clear and stated where my pant scrub altered. I have asked the inside pocket be relocated in front on the right near knee height, and have my long sleeve button fixed. It was clear where it would be placed and had chalk marking(picture attached) to ensure precision. Now this is a delayed post but still clear in my mind as it is something to mention and speak out. It was transacted on 9/9/15 and finalized on 9/14/15. In between the date posted I was called to ensure where the pocket was to be placed, mentioned that it should be on the right and was clarified. Picked it up on Saturday before closing 5pm (picture attached), and was closed with no note as to why. Called and no answer which lead to voicemail. On 9/14/15, picked up the items and the outcome is not what I considered customer service (picture attached). I really needed the scrub the next day, and had no time to accommodate longer delays and errors. There are plenty of Tailors and Alterations in the area, see what fits for you. I had my reservations when I called to inquire about getting a pair of pants hemmed. I figured it would be okay though since this place has positive reviews on Yelp. I called on a Friday afternoon to see if I could stop by Saturday morning before work to drop the pants off. The lady who I spoke too wasn't that friendly on the phone and seemed kind of short with me (immediate red flag). She asked me what time I would like to come in. I told her between 9-9:30am. Keep in mind that the regular business hours are 9a-5p on Saturdays, so this place should have been open regardless of what time I said I would be there. I arrived the next morning at 9:20am and the doors were locked. I called the number that was posted on the door and got a voice mail. I was so livid. I wasted time coming to this place when I could have just gone to work. I ended up going to another place off of FM 518 that was open and had a friendly employee. I'm super disappointed in this place. I hope that this isn't a regular occurrence because it is highly unprofessional. Definitely won't be bringing any other garments to this business. read more

Mrs. Nguyen is a poor business woman and quite honestly, she's mental. After poor service, I left a Google review and stated I'd be giving my business to a competitor. She ended up texting me (she had my number due to doing business with her and because of leaving a voicemail). She attempted to apologize for no showing at her shop. I did not respond. I took my dress elsewhere to be hemmed. Paid. Left happy, anticipating my dress being completed in the next few days. Fast forward, I receive a text from "Kim" at the location I left my dress for alterations. Giving me the run around, stating I owed $30, on top of the $35 I paid. She went on and on, making no sense. I called the number, it was google voice. No answer. I drive up to the alteration shop, showing them the texts. Asking what in the world is going on. They were baffled and clueless. And they had no "Kim" that worked there! I call the number again, no answer. 20 seconds later, I receive a call from the FIRST alteration shop (where I left a bad review). She said she had a missed call from my number. When I asked her if her name was Kim, and if she did alterations, she played dumb. Stating she knows nothing of alterations and works for the airline! This is the same woman who previously text me, apologizing about my poor experience at her shop! This woman used Google assistant voice to text me, PRETENDING to be the other alteration shop. Wreaking havoc in my dress order charge because she was angry with my review. And angry/jealous that I took my business elsewhere. That is insane and not normal behavior. She also went on to locate my HUSBAND'S business page and leave a bad review. She has never even used his services. Do NOT give this woman your business. She's rude, never open during the times stated online and on her door, and obviously crazy. read more

My two encounters with Pearland Alterations can best be described as curt, brief, unhelpful and borderline rude. I took in a Halloween costume last year to have it taken in and was told that they are were unable to do anything with it because of the material. That was fair enough. It was a pretty cheap costume after all. I just left a moment ago with a very nice one-piece bathing suit that I wanted to have extra support (underwire or a swim bra) sewn into. Before I could get my question fully out of my mouth, I was again told "no we cannot do that here." So at this point I will just accept that there are plenty of things they do not, cannot, or will not do. I went to another alteration shop located across from the Pearland Town Center and they will sew the swim bra into my suit for me so all is well. I got my dress for my mother's wedding altered and dry cleaned here. Kristine was so nice and so helpful! I told her when I needed it done by (within a few days) and she assured me that she could make it happen. When I came to pick up my dress, it seems that we had some miscommunications about the price. She was SO kind as to compensate the difference in pricing for me. I appreciate that so much, and she was so sweet about it! You just don't find customer service like that anymore nowadays. I was not pleased with the service the day I brought my dress in. The dress I brought was 12 inches too small in the back. I've had other alterations specialist do wonders on dresses. You just have to have a vision for redesigning a dress.The next day I bought a new dress and had another company in the Galleria make it into a whole new dress in 3 days!! (I needed an inexpensive formal look so I bought a short dress and had them make it into an evening gown) I have taken 2 dresses here before. They do good work and are efficient if you need simple alterations done like taking in, hemming. But if you are looking to add fabric to a dress or get work done on a piece of clothing, I would go to a more experienced alterations place that specifically does that.
