I have been coming to this location for several years. The woman who used to work here in the front was very sweet, the Asian lady now at the front is HORRIBLE, very nasty and rude. It does not matter how nice I am whenever I come in to try on pants or a dress if I don't like where she has put the pen at she gives a nasty attitude like I don't know how I want my own clothes to fit! I have had multiple problems here, but today was my last I will never return. There are plenty of alteration places and she is horrible. The customer service is at an all-time low, the men can barely speak the English unless they are paid actors and the manager is disgusting! The pants that I recently had altered. I had her leave a little extra room for not only a flat sandal but a kitten wedge so not much of a difference at all. First off she did them so short they were too short for a flat sandal and she tried to get loud with me, saying little snarky remarks with her nasty attitude! I have gave this place chance after chance! From my alterations not being done after dropping them off 1 week before, to every time I come to pick up, she's always late! Why say you open at 9 and here we are at 9:28, you still not here! I will send my service next door from this point on. read more

Im not sure what happened to the young lady who helped me out the first time I went. But the woman who works the front now is so rude! She rushes you in and out. It doesn't matter how pleasant I am, she doesn't seem to care at all for that or making her customers feel welcomed. I requested they shorten the waist of a pair of shorts, not much else. They needed 5 days. And then day I go in to pick it up, she requested I come back near the end of the day! For a job so simple. There was no phone call or anything. An amazing crew of very talented tailors. They provide excellent quality tailoring and give you the specifications that you want. Friendly staff and they try to please each customer. She tried begging me to stay and give her 30 minutes but I had to rush to other side of town to make it to the event I needed the pants for. To be clear I could not wear them. I normally take my tailoring needs to a shop in Rice Village but was looking for something closer to home. Did a simple search and his place came up and was close to home. I took a pair of pants and a jacket. The pants were fine as it was only a simple hem. The jacket however was a different story! The original pockets are pics 1 and 2. I wanted the pockets turned to the side and a zipper added for more natural use. I described what I wanted and thought there was an understanding of what was requested. Not so, when I returned only 2 of the three sides were sewn with the zipper attached. Picture and L shape with 2 open sides. Even the young man who showed me the work wondered what had happened and was clearly frustrated that it was done incorrectly. To remedy the situation, they wanted to charge me $25 to turn the pocket and make it right OR leave it as is and simply sew the top of the pocket shut, pic 3. They charged me $50. I was not happy! I took it to my regular tailor, pic 4, and they charged me $70... but it was done CORRECTLY! In all, $40 for the jacket, $50 for a poor job, $70 for a correction... I had a jacket that had a tear that needed to be resewed. This was the first time my clothes tore, so I needed to find a place to fix it since I did not want to do it myself. I found this place online and gave them a call. Lady was nice and told me how she would sew the tear together. Price was reasonable and the work was great! I was also able to pick it up the next day. I needed an All-Star patch sewn onto my daughter's cheerleading uniform. Less than 10 minutes after I arrived, I was walking out the door with the finished product. I LITERALLY waited longer in traffic on 518 than I did in Top Tailor itself! (While my job was admittedly very simple, the lady who waited on me told me that if you arrive early in the morning, they can typically provide same-day service for jobs like hems and other minor alterations.) read more

I was warned by my neighbor not to go to Top Tailor Alternations because they did a bad job hemming her dress/gown ensemble. Apparently they didn't hem enough but were adamant that the dress was fine if pulled up. She went to a wedding in it and had it torn by the end of the night because people were stepping on it the entire time. When she went back to get the torn part hemmed off they said it was past 3 days and not their problem, they will do it only as a new order. Well, what fun is it to learn from other peoples mistakes? They are near my home so I went there to hem 2 pairs of jeans (cost me $30, I don't know what the going rate is but I though it was a little excessive) when I go to pick up the order the jeans are not there. They insist I already picked them up and that my pink slip from them means nothing. These were two new "7 for all mankind" jeans. They made my butt look great. I was very upset. They kept talking to each other in Vietnamese and it didn't sound like they were saying anything nice. I finally left super frustrated only get a call a couple of hours later saying they found the jeans. No apology was offered at all. They just took a payment and gave me my stuff while still making snide foreign remarks. Ugh. read more

I've had a few pairs of pants hemmed here. They do a nice job, but it seems a little pricey. Hemming is $10-12 depending on the width of the pant leg. It usually takes about 5-6 days, but when I was in the store the other day, a customer asked for it the next day. The employee (owner?) at first wasn't going to do it since it was short notice, but then reluctantly agreed. I'm not sure how much extra it costs to get alterations completed in 24 hours, but I wouldn't bring clothes here if you need them to be altered quickly. read more

Took a dress here to redo a hem. They hemmed it within two days, which was quick. The job was a little messy...the hemming was loose in several places. However, the price was reasonable and for a fast turn around I would recommend. read more

I had a near perfect jacket... but it was missing an inside pocket. Top Tailors were able to make it perfect! I was worried about the silk lining that had to be cut to add the pocket would be damaged...but they are pros! The lining came back intact and the stitch work was sharp! read more

I have been in the market for a fast and reliable tailor since moving to Pearland. After some bad experiences, I finally found Top Tailor. I have had two very long jump suits altered there on the fly. I brought them in and needed a 24 hour turn around. One was made of very delicate material. Top Tailor got them ready for me with beautiful hemming. The price was $15 each for a total of $30. I cannot say for sure if this is the going rate for hemming fragile garments or whether a rush fee was applied, but I intend to continue using them for my future alteration needs. read more

Stop by this location on yesterday to have two pieces of clothing altered. I tried on the 1st item the lady pinned it and check for my approval which I gave. I tired on the 2nd item where we discussed what I wanted to have done and she begin pinning it to my specifications. She explained to me the work it would entail and as the conversation continued we both agreed that it was probably not the right the decision to have the piece altered. As she removed the pins she tells me that maybe if I LOSE SOME WEIGHT the piece would fit better. Now I am not a size 2 by any means, but I am not over weight either. The only thing I was asking her to alter on this piece was the length which had absolutely nothing to do with my weight. I felt very disrespected and she was completely out of line for making any comments regarding my weight or her thoughts that I should lose some. They DO do a good job and make your clothes look like they did from the factory. I have had numerous pairs of jeans hemmed here and they look virtually indistinguishable from the factory. It comes at a price though. I believe I paid 8 dollars per leg which is steep. If you don't mind a rush fee they will get even complicated alterations completed by the time you need them. Sure, they may be talking about YOU in Vietnamese right in front of you but I have thick skin and they do fine work so I am not one to complain. read more
