I have been a Pearle Vision consumer for over 25 years. In November 2024, I moved and this location was the closest one for me to go to. When I called to schedule, staff were friendly and helpful...I will also say that the provider who assisted me with selecting new frames was helpful. That is where the 1 star goes too. The optomotrist I saw suggested that I didn't even need glasses based on my exam, which I contested and questioned as I have always needed glasses. She encouraged me to order glasses with the new "unnecessary" prescription anyway in order to "crisp things up". 2 sets of progressive lens eyeglasses later (regular and sunglasses) $$$$ I left. The regular glasses were broken when I picked them up and needed to be reordered. After that, I went back for adjustments twice, they tightened things up and told me that it will take time to adjust to the lenses. I did not find them to be helpful or friendly, instead I felt as though I was inconveniencing them. It did not get better, but honestly I didn't want to go back and was going to try to wait it out for the year and go to an entirely different provider for a new script and lenses when my benefits reset. This fall, as the days were shortening and there was less light, I found it harder and harder to wait. I went back to try and determine a solution. I was initially told that it was likely due to my age (50) and that the discrepancies in my vision would balance out once I was 55 by the store manager. She even told me a story about how some of her friends my age just choose to limit their activities in the evenings particularly because of it and maybe I should consider that. She suggested that the prescriptions that I had earlier were actually "overcorrecting" and giving me "supervision" which was not something they did at this location. She set me up with the owner, who is also an optomoetrist and told me he would be able to explain the "aging eye thing" better and also help me find a solution in terms of replacement lenses/glasses to address my concerns. I saw him Dec. 14th, and sure enough my prescription was not strong enough. He was not willing to provide a solution or acknowledge that the previous script was potentially off and did not say anything about my "aging eyes". He told me he would have to speak with his store manager about options. I told him she told me the same thing about him and he smirked and said "yes...that is because I am the owner. I am not open to making any decisions today or until I speak with her." So I left. I have left three messages for the store manager since that appointment and have not gotten any response. The people on the phone have been friendly and empathized with my situation. One made sure to move my message to the top of her messages when she returned. I have not received a phone call. It is unfortunate that after 25+ years of being a loyal Pearle Vision consumer that this is the experience that will put an end to that. read more

Very shady business practices going on at this location. Make sure you verify what you will be charged prior to any services being performed. Apparently their process is to perform exams and then tell you that insurance wasn't verified and you owe money. They also don't like to inform young people that their prescriptions are still valid and that they don't even need an exam. A complaint with the BBB will be filed. read more

Walked in and was greeted right away by Nancy. She was eager to help but was respectful when I said I wanted to browse. I ended up with a beautiful pair of glasses. The selection was amazing ! So many cute trendy pairs it was hard to choose just one. Nancy was attentive from the second we walked through the door to the minute we left. Got a call the very next day that my glasses were ready. I am beyond pleased! Thank you Nancy. Our family will be back in 2020 for more. read more

Worst customer service at this location. First I called to check and see if my sunglasses are in because I hadn't gotten a call, the man on the phone told me that the reason I didn't get a call was because I gave them the wrong number, I asked him to tell me the number they had and it was correct and he kept insisting that it was my fault that I didn't get a call, even after I said it wasn't a big deal. An associate assisted me in selecting frames. During the interaction another customer walked into the store. Suddenly, the associate stated she would be assisting the new customer and asked another associate to assist me . There was no explanation given. The second associate was more interested in checking on her hair in the mirror than assisting me. I won't go back. read more

Horrible experience with this location. Truly a NO star would be more accurate. Went in for an eye exam which they could not complete, asked me to return so they could complete the exam. Same story next visit. After the 3rd visit, I found out they charged me full price for each visit without ever disclosing that my return visits were going to be charged at all and I still don't have the eyeglass prescription that I've paid for 3x over... BTW, the return visits were 5 to 10 minutes each. DO NOT give them your business as they are less than ethical... Stay away!!! read more

WOULD NEVER GO THERE AGAIN. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Ended up walking out after the associate showing me frames was beyond incredible rude. The fact she picked food out of her braces while talking to me didn't make me leave however when she became rude, spoke down to me about my disability, argued with me about my disability and told me how wrong I was about it.....well that was enough humiliation for one day. Clearly she wasn't interested in my concerns. Thought maybe it was an off day for her. However when I received a bill - which was a complete surprise. Called her manager. He was not willing to refund me (talk about terrible customer service). I was mislead that it was covered and I had to leave his store and go else where, pay for another exam and buy glasses somewhere else. I had a bad experience at this location. I have had 3 eye glasses made since going to this location. The first two times every thing went well,customer service was friendly and helpful. 3rd time there same eye check up and customer service was friendly and helpful. Its at this point were things went wrong. The days past and trying to get use to the glasses i started to notice i was having a hard time focusing on my reading, moving my head around to focus and read (Progressive bifocals). Took it back and explain situation. The person checked out prescription, adjusted them and said they were fine but they were not. Several trips back and after trying to adjust them myself the part going over the ear broke. Replacing part of frame that went over ear but it wasn't the right one, it didn't fit good. Found out one of the lens were made completely incorrectly after going to another Optometrist. Also Glasses with basic options there cost more then other places, payed over $1000 for these glasses, not even a year old, including a replaced lens, bad scratch(My Mistake object hit my lens) on opposite side of bad prescription side. Switched to another Optometrist. Maybe someone having bad days?You decide. Could of bought a nice appliance for that amount. read more

I do not normally write reviews on businesses. I felt compelled, however, to do so in this case because my experience was so negative. I went to Pearl Vision in Riverdale for the first time, to get my eyes checked out. This was my first time trying a new eye doctor in the Twin Cities. I was treated rudely the entire time I was there. For example, I had to certify that I reviewed their HIPAA policy on one of their forms. When I asked to see the policy, the assistant said, "It is the same as everyone else." When I again asked to see it, she stormed off to find it, handed the binder to me, and stood, arms crossed, watching over me while I reviewed it. Another example was during the actual examination. The doctor laughed at me when I did not understand the questions she was asking or the tests she was trying to perform. Some of the tests I had never experienced before at my previous eye doctor. Lastly, when looking at potentially buying new glasses, the assistant was completely unwilling to help and again was rude to me. I understand that everyone has off days, and maybe this was an off day for the entire staff, but I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more
