On top of that, I hate wearing glasses because even after paying extra for the thinner lens, my lenses are so thick that I look ridiculous wearing them. This year was different. My insurance changed so I looked for a new eye care place near our home in Maplewood. I came across this location and chose it because they had Saturday hours and good deals through my insurance. My eye exam was quick and painless, and I came out with a new glasses and contacts prescription. I went to pick our glasses. Instead of searching through a ton of mediocre frames and waiting in line for what seems forever to get someone to assist you, I was helped quickly by someone that understands my style and need for a frame that goes well with my thick lenses. She walked me through all of my options and got me the cheapest set of the best glasses possible (anti reflective, thinner lenses, the whole 9 yards). After ordering them, I was led to the counter where I also ordered contacts and was given a rebate form to send in once I received them. A week later, my contacts arrived at my home and less than two weeks later, my glasses arrived. They are amazing! For literally years, probably 15 to give perspective, I've only worn glasses at night because I hate how I couldn't see as well with them and how bad they looked on me. Now I wear them whenever my eyes are tired or just for fun! It's so nice to be able to give my eyes a break, especially when I work overnights or long hours in the hospital. I highly recommend this place. They have a huge selection of awesome glasses, service is quick and painful, and the staff are all super nice and eager to help. So glad I came here!

The facility itself is beautiful, welcoming, and clean. Everyone I spoke to greeted me with a smile. The technician (I'm sorry I forgot her name!) was friendly and explained the tests she was performing so I understood the process. Dr. Endres was so professional and personable. I was educated about every step of my exam and even got to see images of my retina! I didn't feel rushed at all and he really took the time to explain his findings and to answer all my questions. Kimberly helped me pick out my frames and suggested enhancements to prevent breakage (which is a necessity with a 9 month old!). Overall their flow of getting you on and out felt seamless. The staff swiftly moved me through all of the steps to check my eyes. I did have to wait for my eyes to dilate, so they had me look at frames to save time instead of sitting in a room waiting. I've always been impressed with how personable all of their staff is, and how much they really want you to be happy in your frames. She talked me into getting a Verilux Progressive lens, having told me beforehand that if I did not like them and they didn't work out for me that she would replace them for the single vision lens for both my reading and distance lens for no extra charge. She however reneged on this offer/statement when I came back with the progressive lens because they did not live up to the hype they tried to convince me of. There was to much distortion on the overall lens, the distance portion was not sharp and clear and had a shorter range, and I had to move my head all over to just find the clarity for the area of distance I was trying to see from whether it was distance, intermediate. or reading level. She was only willing to make one pair of lenses which meant I had to choose either distance or reading. The cost of the one pair of Varilux progressive lenses was 3 times the price of what 2 single vision lenses would be so she made money and I feel like I got ripped off. I would not recommend Scenic Eye Care because you can't trust their word, their inventory for frames are very limited and they need more staffing.

Had my appointment and the optometrist had on ONE shoe and was rude as rude could be screaming at me and pretty much calling me a liar saying I could see far away and not up close(why would I lie?!) then by the end of the check up she was like "I'm not giving you your full prescription because it will be too strong" then proceeded to give me readers I paid over $300 for that are NO HELP! I have a picture of her walking around with no shoe and a recording of her screaming at me. Then when I asked them to send me my prescription THREE times they refused....then send me it after I told them ITS LAW they gave to send it to me, it was a prescription for readers!!!! How did my eyes go from +2.00 and +3.00 10 years ago to almost perfect how?! Then they sent me a bill saying I owed more because they didn't take my insurance and argued with me saying they never checked and blah blah.
