I asked specifically during my initial call, check in process and was told by 3 employees including the doctor, the file would be able to be reviewed. I believe a doctor appointment covered by my insurance at 100% should include the doctors time to review my medical file (since it was another doctor) and become aware of any eye medical changes/issues. At least look at the paperwork before seeing me. As a duty and oath an eye doctor is to review all medical paperwork , previous appointments and notice any new or outstanding issues... it is customary to review a patients previous visit and assess the patient properly based on any changes, is it not? A ridiculous up charge for Optix software 39.99 not covered by insurance.. of course! Yet outdated and unnecessary estimation vision machines are being used? Dropped in to check it out after I saw the sale sign out front! Great experience! I think it used to be a different shop but now there are new owners with updated inventory. Nice selection of designer sunglasses - brands included Prada, Versace, and Tom Ford along with a great selection of frames from Coach, Michael Kors, etc. The owner herself helped me pick out my sunglasses. She was an absolute doll!!! She shower me lots of additional sizes online but I ended up just buying off the shelf because I liked them so much!! After I left my house for a day of running around, I accidentally dropped my glasses (in the case!) and when I opened the case, a lens fell out! I DEFINITELY need my glasses to see many things and I knew my regular optometrist was closed due to COVID but remembered there was a Pearle Vision store close by. After waiting a minute for an employee to assist another customer, I was greeted by a very kind professional who introduced himself as Fred. He asked how he could help and I explained my dilemma which he fixed immediately and expertly. When I requested the charge for the repair, he said, "no charge--come back and see us when you have another eye glass need". I was in and out of there in less than 15 minutes and could (thankfully) continue my day seeing! I will definitely remember Pearle Vision and Fred's kind service for my optic needs. read more

I was a loyal customer of Dr Glass for many years and they switch to Pearl Vision and i had the worst experience! I had to go back three times to get my glasses to be corrected. Both sunglasses and regular glasses. They still aren't perfect but i can't waste anymore time on incompetence. They try to upsell you on everything! The lady talks over you when you're trying to ask questions, could never get a straight answer out of her. She quoted me one price on lenses and i went back to pick my glasses up and they tried to charge me more. When I told the guy the price she quoted me he went to ask her about it and she gave a look like, oh darn I got caught, give it to her. I don't trust this place! I believe they are now just in for the money. I won't be returning and definitely will not recommend this store. I also called VSP to report my problem and was told i could go elsewhere for a 20% discount or wait for another year. I can't afford another $400 on what should have been made right the first time or at most, the second time! What happened to honest and caring customer care!! I went to Pearl for an eye exam and to purchase eyewear and lenses. Dr. Glass was very detailed and staff treated me well. I was called later by Stacy to inform me she had a billing problem with my insurance. She refused to listen to the me and insisted I do what she asked or she would cancel my eyewear order. I called my insurance and they contacted the store and resolved the issue. They told me expect a call back from her to explain the mix up. I never receive an apology so I will be filing a complaint with her regional manager. read more

Pearle Vison, specifically the staff; Josh, Fred & Eve, were not only helpful but also incredibly knowledgeable, personable and fast. I don't know anyone who's less excited about the process of getting new glasses than my 12 yr old special needs son who typically can't sit still for more than 3 seconds. We walked in, sat down, got the right glasses for a better price than I could find (even online) & had the three experts to help. Parking easy. Right by a Starbucks. Newly remodeled store with a lot of frame options. Easy to make appt online. Bought a groupon for eye exam and $150 off glasses. Extra $39 for retinal image. At other eye exam offices, if u decline the image they will dilate your eyes with drops and look back into your optic nerve area but they did not. Nice employees. read more

I just had the worst customer service ever! The people in the front office are the worst! The guy would ask a question and then would not listen to my answer. The Dr. was good but the rest of the people are horrible. I felt like all he was trying to do was upsell me on everything because I had insurance. When I wouldn't answer how he wanted he would get agitated and frustrated. He then charged me for 2 different transactions one for the office visit, which was higher than what was quoted and the other charge for my contacts. He then brought back 1 receipt and when I asked for the other receipt, he looked at me in disbelief. I said again I would like both receipts you charged me 2 times. Now the lady from the front desk got involved and as they struggled through the printing of the receipt she questioned me why I wanted the receipt. I said because I was charged 2 times. They then had an "issue" with the printing of this receipt. Now it took the 3 guys in the office and the front desk lady. One of the others guys firmly tells me "we can email it to you" like he was disgusted with me. After waiting for a little bit I said yes you can email it. Then the Lady asks do we have your email and I said yes you do. She then says I hope you have a better day. I laughed and I said I am having a good day it is all of you who are all frustrated. Now the biggest guy in the office yells at me and says "get out of here." I said wow that is great customer service and started to walk out. Now the lady runs out to me and says how can we help you. When I started to explain about the gentlemen acted like he didn't know what he was doing and they all got upset about me asking for the 2nd receipt. Her only response was he has been a Dr. for 15 years. No SORRY or anything of that nature. read more

My wife's and my experience at this Pearl Vision location at 17th Street and Newport Blvd. has been excellent and exceeded our expectations in many ways. My vision with new progressive lenses and with distance vision sunglasses is perfect and the glasses were ready exactly when predicted. The selection of men's, women's and children's lenses is extensive. We were told that as many as 100 frames might come and go in a month to assure that the store has the most current styles. With the help of the store's excellent licensed optician, we were able to find and be expertly fitted with new frames easily with several great options from which to choose. The store is modern, well lighted and the staff is friendly, courteous and very helpful. My great results led to my wife to decide to update her frames and lenses after seeing the broad selection of lenses and the professional manner in which I was treated. I would recommend this store without reservation. This location has the benefits associated with being part of a nationwide chain, but it definitely has a very customer/patient-oriented atmosphere just like an excellent optometry or ophthalmology practice. read more
