I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Fleischer and the entire team at Pearle Vision. I needed a field vision test for medical reasons and they fit me in immediately. Dr. Fleischer did an extensive eye exam where he thoroughly explained every step of the exam and the results. He caught an issue I didn't even know I had, one I will need to get treated for. I'm so thankful he found it! They were incredibly helpful with getting me the prescription glasses I need. Each and every person in the office was so kind, helpful and patient. This place gets 2.5 stars from me because I had to average it out between the actual doctors visit and the experience of purchasing a pair of glasses here since they charged me separately for each service. First up, the actual eye exam. The eye doctor was very good. Very patient with his examinations and explains our questions in great detail. He carefully completed multiple exams with us and seemed very good on what he does. So we were very happy about that. But, when it comes to getting your prescription eyeglasses, to me it was pain in my butt. It seems like to me I was very confused about the types of eye glasses being sold to me and the sales person didn't do a good job at explaining it. Also we have vision insurance so we get like $160.00 allowances, but 90% of the frames starts at $250.00 so you know you have to fork over some money no matter which eye glasses you get. I just thought if they offers more selection on frames with less than $250.00, I'd probably get it from them. So even I enjoyed our experience with the eye doctor, I had to average it down to 3 stars. read more

My son lost his glasses on the beach during our last trip to Florida. A woman, who's a local, recommended for us to go to Pearle Vision in Hollywood. She said that she's been taking her kids there for years and was very happy with their service. I am so glad that I listened to her. My son got an eye exam which was covered by our insurance & the glasses were done the same day!! The sales lady was very knowledgeable. She patiently explained all the options to us and offered to squeeze my son in for an eye exam. My only suggestion is that if you need an eye exam make an appointment ahead of time. I had gone here back in 2012 and needed to get new contacts. I was told that I had to make an appointment ( back area is Dr David Potash offices ) and get a new eye exam since it had been over a year. Set up my appiontment and went. They asked if I had insurance and I said NO. They proceeded to let me know that the exam was $69.95 and also another test would be $39.00, I said Ok and had my exam. I received a new prescription for contacts and went to pay . My bill was $201.00 ! When I asked why, I was told that there was a $93.00 fee for fitting my contacts. Do not buy from this store I purchased glasses there and it got scratched the store manager that owned this store said I have to paid 50%of the retail price and send my only pair of glasses to them by Mail because I move from fl to MD . His name is Alex told me to purchase another pair of glasses in MD and send the other ones I purchased from them I said I'm going to paid more then what it cost . Alex would not work with me . Hollywood Oakwood Plaza and Aventura Pearle Vision Rip off and thiefs Description: August 2nd I went into Pearle Vision and spoke with the representative Nancy and showed her a brand new frame that I had purchased somewhere else and the type of lenses I was wearing in my current glasses. I asked her if they could make this type of lenses and put it in my new frame, and she stated yes and we proceeded with talking about the type of lenses I wear. I wanted progressive transition with an anti-reflective lenses and she stated no problem that they are better than the other companies.August 9thI picked up the glasses and notice that the lenses were very thin compared to my current lenses. The following day I was driving and realize at night there was a lot of glare and the I could not use them at night while driving.August 11th I called the stored and informed them of the situation and they said they would call me back. On August 13thI received a call from Pearle Vison telling me that I would have to bring the glasses down when a manager was present.August 14th I returned to Pearle Vision and spoke with Carmala the manager about the glasses and he took a look at the glasses and told me there was no Anti-reflective material on the glasses.August 20th I got a call stated that the glasses were ready and picked them up.August 25th I went down to Pearle Vision and spoke with the manager and told him that there was still a lot of glare and that it really bothers my eyes. He looked at the glasses I was wearing and have been wearing for years and stated that it was probably because I was used to wearing plastic lenses. He stated that the lenses he put in the frame are much better than the plastic and didnt advise wearing a plastic lenses with this type of frame. I told him I didnt care and when I decided to purchase lenses from him I told them I wanted the same type of lenses. Carmela the manager took my lenses and frame and said that he would put the same type of lenses in that I request in the beginning which would be the plastic material.September 8th I got a phone call from Alaness telling me that they wanted me to come down to Pearle Vision and see the kind of glasses I am wearing so they can duplicate the lenses. I live in Chicago and my sons glasses broke while we were vacationing in Florida. We went to get glasses replaced this Pearle Vision location. The service was incredible. The manager Alex whose from Chicago originally made us feel right away at home. He was able to find an exact pair of glasses and and to make new lenses in a couple of hours. He was extremely attentive, professional and sensitive to our situation. I strongly recommend this place. After spending 300-400$ for glasses the left temple kept popping off. After the 3rd or 4th time this happened (within approximately 1-2 months) I wanted a different pair of glasses. I was fine with either a new frame all together or new frame of same one i had purchased. They refused, instead telling me I could buy another frame at 50 percent off (which is what i paid when I first bought my glasses). Buyer beware. This was a great experience! Dr D. Potash was wonderful. He was kind, professional, thorough and took the time to answer all of my questions. He made sure that my prescription was optimal for my needs. I hope he is still there for my next year's exam. This is the worst place I have ever gone to for an eye exam. The clerk called and said my glasses were ready to pick up. I arrived at the store, put on my new glasses, and I could not see through them. I was told to wear them for a week. I would get used to them. After a week of pure agony - and probably running a few people off the road - I returned to the store and said I would like to see the manager. However, it was impossible to see anybody through these glasses, let alone the manager. The clerk summoned the owner of the store, and he came forward to take care of my "need". The owner stated it was the wrong prescription. Really? He returned my glasses to the lab. A week-and-a-half later I returned. I put them on and still could not see clearly through them. The owner then put heat on them, bent them, twisted them, whacked and smacked them, and put them back on my face. In spite of all the sadistic rituals the owner did to my glasses, I still could not see through them. He also suggested that I wear them for a week as I would get used to them. Needless to say, I've been there, done that, so I suggested they redo the eye exam. That they take this behemoth disaster back to the drawing table and start all over. Maybe he could get it right this time around. You could hear his snort echo around the world as he arrogantly retorted that I would be responsible for the expense, that he was not about to incur any more losses due to my inaccuracies on the first eye exam. I thought it was peculiar how suddenly their incompetence was due to my incompetence. I felt myself rapidly being sucked into a three-ring circus act! At this moment anxiety began to overtake me. I finally realized I was dealing with a moron. I slowly shook my head in disbelief and got up and left the ring master to his fantasies. I went home and called my insurance company and explained the situation. I was allowed to go elsewhere for my eye care needs. I did not experience any complications with this next vision care facility whatsoever; the glasses fit perfect, and I could see clearly. Do not waste your time with this unprofessional, third-rate organization. If you encounter a problem, rest assured that you are the root cause of it, and they are incapable of fixing it. What a blemish this place is for the Pearl Vision Company! It is like having a pimple on your behind - it doesn't go away, it's just a miserable situation. read more
