It would help if the scheduler and schedule reminders knew when they would be closed. I had a Sep 1st appt scheduled from last year, and the system did not trigger it as a holiday. I thought it was odd and maybe they just decided to be open on Labor Day. So I got three text reminders and one email reminder to be at the store at 10 AM September 1st. I drove there only to see a sheet of printer paper taped to the door saying temporary hours on 9/1 would be closed. Unbelievable that a company can be so disorganized to not look at their schedule the week before the holiday to make adjustments. And to add insult by reminding me 3 separate times to keep my appointment which they blew off. Super poor customer service read more

This place rules! Way better than Blink Optometry, and a smidgen more expensive than Costco, but ten times the service! I felt seen, no pun intended. They knew me, remembered me, remembered personal details even, and I had only purchased glasses previously. Look...again, the puns just happen...this place is tip top! I had perfect sight until 43, and at 49, I am still trying to deal with seeing that I cannot see. I was seen, heard, and walked out feeling cared for. This place is so so chill and amazing!! Most of the staff were extremely kind and welcoming women. They ensured comfortability within the procedures and within conversation, and were super engaging to me and my boyfriend. They make you feel good on a day you're dreading, and they'll give you awesome deals!! I saved almost $500 with them for two pairs resulting under $100. Last year Visionworks mailed me a coupon for discounted frames. I needed new frames and it had been years since my last eye exam. This was my first experience at Visionworks and I booked my appointment online. I arrived early and was greeted by two friendly associates. My first observation was of the large selection of eyewear Visionworks offers. An associate named Sheila started by giving me a basic eye test. The test was simple, painless and Sheila was very personable. Then I met with an associate named Joe. We went over options for frames and different styles. He was insightful, professional and made the process easy. He even checked to see which frames would be covered by my insurance which was a plus. My appointment concluded with an eye exam from Dr. Arasteh which was brief and also painless. She went over the exam result in simple terminology and made optional recommendations. My appointment was painless. The staff was attentive, respectful and welcoming. Their large selection of frames have a wide range of prices, styles ad options for insurance or non-insurance purchases. The entire appointment was about an hour or less. First of all- Optometrist was fine-no issues there. After exam, I looked at glasses and discussed my VSP coverages. The salesperson- and I do emphasize salesperson was pushy, aggressive and unprofessional. Currently, I am on a strict budget right now, and price was/is a concern. I picked out a pair of glasses, and had her cost them out. I advised her I would be comparing prices at other stores, etc. and she flat-out told me that theirs was the best price, and I shouldn't go elsewhere. I asked for my prescription, and left feeling that she was truly just there for the $$$ I have had good luck at Costco in the past, so I figured I would give them a chance as well as online company. When I opened my prescription I found that the whole prescription was not there-the Pupillary distance was not included. I called back Visionworks and asked for that prescription information. The person that answered the phone said she could help, and looked up my information. She then proceeded to tell me that since I didn't buy my glasses there, they couldn't give me that information. I was a little perturbed, and she said that she would have another coworker talk to me. Unfortunately, I was transferred to the original person that was pushy before. She said she couldn't give me the dimensions either because I wasn't buying the glasses there. I thought that was a bit unfair. I then asked again. She could sense that I was a little upset and finally gave me the dimensions. She then proceeded to talk to me very condescendingly. She said "have fun ordering your glasses online". First of all, I wasn't going to just do online, I was also going to go to Costco. She then was over talking me and again was very very rude. I do not recommend shopping at this store. The optometrist, as I had said was fine, but you can get that test anywhere. The staff, particularly this person was extremely rude, and I will never ever refer anyone to that location! Furthermore, I will not step into that location again, even though they had a couple of nice frames-but the service is a definite turn off. I also made a complaint with VSP, and they were very polite and accommodating. I do recommend that insurance, as they have been my carrier for quite a long time. I had an exceptional experience at Visionworks office in Lake Forest! From the moment I stepped in, the staff was friendly, professional, and eager to assist. You can get all sort of eye examinations at this office including Optos, glasses and contact lens prescription etc. which is very convenient and comprehensive. Dr. Liyan Arasteh was thorough in the examination and explaining each step along the way. She is friendly, patient, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. The wide selection of eyewear was impressive, and Shahrzad (Sherry) kindly helped me find a perfect frame that suited my style. The entire process, from the eye exam by Yari to evaluation by Dr. Arasteh to selecting glasses with Sherry, was smooth and efficient. The experience I had with the eye glass lady was HORRENDOUS. She made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I believe her name was Sherry but I could be wrong. This woman's job is just to help us find out our measurements on our face to help the farm sit correctly. Well once she was done with that she began to add a bunch of things onto the glasses order and FORCEFULLY pushing it onto me and my partner. I kept explaining to her I have used a certain frame astigmatism lenses that hasn't worked for me in the past so I didn't feel like spending hundreds more. She was so extremely uncomfortable to speak to. She made me feel so dumb for just speaking what I did not want as a paying customer. These people just want to up sale anything to get more money because she's just a sales person pretending to be an optometrist. She kept saying "I do this for a living I know what I'm talking about you have no idea what you are talking about." She was so rude that I ended up walking out in tears. I do NOT understand how people like this woman are allowed to work in customer service positions. I felt so incredibly uncomfortable that I felt like I finally had to write this review. Oh and in addition they charged for a back of the eye exam that they failed to mention costed over 40$??? I did not even get to finish that exam because the exam lady failed to mention how extreme the flashing lights are. (I have a EXTREME sensitivity to light because of my migraines). The exam lady was very nice! But the eyeglass sales woman needs to be evaluated. read more

The folks working in the Lake forest store are totally unprofessional and clueless. I would avoid that store even if my life depends on it. They didn't know how to handle my insurance. I had to call my insurance to teach them how to do their job. But because of their foul attitude I left the store. Management of the store needs to hire more professional staff or find himself/herself a replacement as well. Insurance company should cut them loose. Total disservice. Total ignorance and arrogance. It's VSP's fault that still keeps working with them at the expense of customer frustration and dissatisfaction. I filed a complaint with VSP. read more

What a great experience! I feel like I've finally found an eye doctor and office to call "home". Dr. Liyan Arasteh spent time educating me on eye health and on my exam. She is awesome! Visionworks uses cool technology and modern equipment. I loved seeing a huge picture of my own eye. That was a first. The staff, Yari and Angeli welcomed us warmly. Several months ago I walked into the store and received great customer service by the representative. There were about 6 customers in front of me, but rather than having me wait in the lobby, they informed me that I could run my errands and they would call when my turn was approaching. The doctor did a through examination of my eyes and made appropriate suggestions based on my test results. There was a great promotion taking place that I was even able to purchase appropriate sunglasses at a discounted price. I look forward to returning in a couple of years when my next exam is due. They all took time to explain everything and made the visit a great experience. I would recommend you coming to get Your vision checked. With my insurance I only paid 59.00 which included retinal pictures. I will definitely come next year to get my exam done. read more
