My husband had an appointment today @ 1:40. When he got there he called to let him know he was there. When he gave the lady his insurance information the lady on the phone said she had never heard of that kind of insurance. She then proceeded to tell my husband that the woman who normally verifies insurance information was not there and that she could do it but it would take awhile. She then informed my husband that he would have to reschedule his appointment because by the time she got done verifying his insurance information it would be to late for his appointment and they were really busy today. He got there 10 minutes early! read more

Called to make an appointment as a new patient and the woman who answered seemed like scheduling an appointment in the evening was a major inconvenience to her. She grumbled through having to tell me what times where available in the evening on 3 different days because of work conflicts. When I was unable to answer an insurance question due to a recent insurance change she actually laughed. I asked if I could bring the new insurance information with me and arrive early to the appointment to provide the information and she said that because it was the last appointment of the day that would be an inconvenience to them, even if I arrived early! If it weren't for insurance restrictions I would have canceled the appointment the second she laughed at me for not being able to answer a question. Very condescending. I went to Pearl Vision on Woodward for the first time a year ago and still can not get over what happened. It was a toss up between 2 different frames and I finally decided on one. I put the other one back in the cabinet left the ones I picked out on the counter. I wait a week go to pick them up and they were not the frames I picked. I didn't want to wait another week so I said it was ok. I put them on and knew something was not right. They looked at the prescription and said they where correct to what the Doc ordered so I left. I started crying on the way home cause I could not see crap out of 1 eye. A year later I went back to where I usually go and she said the prescription was completely wrong. over 500$....Never Never again! read more

The front desk staff is not friendly and is very rude I'm filling out paperwork and they want to get in my face and take paperwork out of my hand when I wasn't done with my paperwork I told the receptionist I wasn't finished that's never happened before at an optometrist office and they were radio silent once I gave them the paperwork like I was annoying them the lady that took the paperwork out of my hand did my eye test and was not friendly and on my way out they told me to go to the counter to get checked out and they told me to sit back down then I waited 15 minutes for a receipt and was shuffling paperwork purposely so I couldn't leave then was radio silent again ignoring me and to get checked out then the receptionist she asked me if I wanted my prescription like yeah why would I not want a prescription when you go to a optometry doctor. They are very unprofessional receptionist here and I won't return. This office has gotten real rude acting I have been a customer for 4 years and after today I'm not coming back. My eye doctor Kevin was nice that's the only good thing that happened at this appointment. read more

I took my 12 year old daughter here for an eye exam and to discuss the possiblity of contact lenses. Everyone was very helpful and knowledgable. They explained all of the options and gave us more than enough information to make an informed decision. We decided to go with the contact lenses, they carefully explained all of the care instructions to my daughter and taught her to put her lenses in and out. They were very patient and kind. In a very short time she was able to put her lenses in, remove them, and clean them. I am really happy with the service that we received. read more

Go somewhere else! Anywhere else! The staff is friendly and efficient but their billing practices are deceptive and borderline abusive. I wanted to refill my contact lenses supply because my insurance was changing and I wanted to use my insurance allowance before it did (I'm wasn't even out of lenses). I called up to order a new box and was told I needed a current exam bc I hadn't had an exam in a year. (My prescription hasn't changed since I was 15, btw). Ok, fine. While I did not appreciate being inconvenienced for this formality, I understand they want the insurance $ for the exam fee, so I went in for the exam. Lo & behold my prescription was the same. However, at checkout I was charged for TWO exams, one for glasses (which I was not there for, I was expressly there to get another box of the same damn contact lenses!) and one for "contact exam and fitting", regardless of the fact that there was no fitting involved, there was no change in my prescription, and I was just refilling the same exact contacts I already had!! Since insurance only pays for one exam I was expected to pay for the other out of pocket! I'm still not sure how a 10min consultation to confirm my prescription is still the same (like it is EVERY YEAR) magically became TWO exams. Maybe if I'd been there to order glasses AND contacts, but I was only there to refill the same box of contacts. At the very least when I called to make the appointment expressly to refill my contact lenses I should have been told I needed 'TWO' exams. THIS IS WHY PEOPLE ARE SHOPPING ONLINE AND NOT IN YOUR STORES ANYMORE. While I'm sure the policy is set by corporate and is fully legal, it certainly isn't ethical and is clearly all about pocketing as much $ from insurance and customers as they possibly can regardless of whether 'services' are necessary or even rendered (there was no contact vs. glasses exam, the whole time with the doctor was MAYBE 10mins). I will not be going back as I don't want to give this chain another dime of my, or my insurance company's money. I'd encourage you to go elsewhere as well. To be clear, the staff were fine, it is Pearl Vision's ridiculous exam / billing policies that I had a problem with. read more

Nancy was a GREAT help! She made getting new glasses fun and much less stressful than my previous experiences. She helped me find great frames and also really worked with me on the price of everything and made it all work with my budget. She even went the extra step to fix my old glasses that I didn't even purchase from them. There was a reason I never used this place. I have never had so many problems with a pair of glasses before! First pair, was rimless, couldn't polish them down enough so you didn't look like you had white circles around your eyes, so I switched frames, no problem. Now they never sent that order in, so 2 & 1/2 weeks later no glasses, so add another week and half, then I finally pick them up, and they aren't right, go back in after a few days of trying to make them work, to find out they weren't measured properly, so 2 people measure everything to make sure they are right this time, another week & a half, picked them up they still had markings on the lens, not sure if they even went back out, the progressive still seems off( not new to progressives) but I'm exhausted with this site, I'll go somewhere else and have them adjusted, and hopefully don't have to go back here ever again. The employees are really nice, but the skill level may be off for some not all of them. I won't be back, Unless the progressive is really not corrected, originally purchased last week of December 2017, I just picked my glasses up 3/12/18!! Although I'd been a customer for many years, because I liked their foctors, I am no longer their customer because of TERRIBLE service (all levels, but topped by the manager). If you have to use their location be careful: they DON'T care about the customer. They first mistreat you, humiliate you in public, make you feel like a fool, and then, after you leave, completely speechless and embarrassed, they check on the information you gave, which they keep on denying without checking. That is when they call you (five minutes after you left) to apologize and say you were righr. The manager then, expected that a new appointment could be made. That is where I ask: why would I choose to be "serviced" by the staff that completely abused you? Thanks, but mo thanks. Bye, bye Pearle Vision! read more

I left this place years ago and came back. Now I remember why I left. They have had to remake my glasses four to five times in the past few months. They have gotten the prescription wrong and insist on providing me with super thick lens material that I used to wear in the 80s even though I ordered and paid for the latest and greatest. When I brought this to their attention, they lied and told me that my prescription can only be made with the super thick and heavy lens material. I proved them wrong. So they remade and provided me with the exact same thick and heavy lens material AGAIN. Then they tried to tell me that I can't have thinner lenses because of the blue filter that I purchased to put on the lenses. They discovered they were wrong and made them again. Only to discover that the lab made the prescription wrong again. Repeat. Many weeks go by and now they tell me that my lenses are taking very long because of the special lens material they have to order from China... they were full of attitude and sounded annoyed as if I made some sort of weird special request. This has been a twilight zone experience. Still don't have my glasses... so it continues. read more

I didn't have a appointment scheduled however, I was still able to have an examination done that day by Dr. Michael Liberman, he was so helpful and answered all my questions. I didn't feel rushed. This is my second time buying glasses from this location of pearl. I couldn't be happier with the service that I received! After purchasing a pair in July I went back a month later to get a second pair as a spare. Dee was the associate I worked with, who was very helpful in understanding my price boundaries as well as helping me with the correct frame size. This included checking with the manufacturer on not only size but color options available. While making adjustments and measuring for this new spare pair, I mentioned a scratch that I have on my initial pair, (a scratch that I did not have when I picked up my glasses)that I purchased only one month ago. It was Dee's idea that Pearl could replace my lenses for me! I explained to her that the scratch was my fault, which didn't matter, they were going to replace them! Imagine my surprise! Although, I agree that eyeglasses are extremely expensive and the fact that most frames are made in China and not made with the durability that they should have, the customer service here takes the sting out a bit. This location of Pearl has exceeded my expectations and I am happy to continue my patronage here in the years to come! Furthermore, they have the technology and equipment at this location to manufacture their own lenses so the leadtime for your glasses is shorter than other locations that send them out. read more

The frame selection and customer service is decent at this Pearle Vision. What soured my experience was the fact that I was told my new lenses for my existing frames would be ready within 5-7 days. After 7 days, the time frame changed to 2 weeks. I checked in after two weeks and was told that my glasses are still not ready. It's been over two weeks and I'm still waiting.
