We love Thai House! They never disappoint. Their food and service is always great and very friendly.

Let's start with the service. I ordered szechuan beef with white rice. The waitress asked me if I wanted fried rice. I said no, I wanted white rice. Well, my dish came with fried rice. Now, the food. The szechuan beef I ordered has always come as a spicey dish with peppers in it. My dish wasn't spicey and had no peppers in it. Lastly, the bill. We were a party of five. I overlooked the fact that tbey already selected a top for themselves. I added a tip before a friend pointed out that tbey already tipped themselves. I've never heard of this practice with a party of five. So check your bill carefully. I won't be back for a second chance. There are too many good Asian restaurants in Redding to waste my time and money here. read more

I ordered red curry with beef, wife had shrimp chop suey. Lots of shrimp, she said not a lot of flavor, but not bad. Fried rice was really good, egg foo young soup was good. Mine came with salad and white rice. Salad was simple and fresh, dressing was something I've never had, but good. Curry was good, not really spicy and a little sweet. I added chili oil. We had been on the road for most of the day and decided to order out and eat at our hotel We were tired of fast food and Thai House was near our hotel. Food was about average Thai. We had pad Thai, green curry, pad see you, egg rolls. I felt it was nothing out of the ordinary but I think food taken out is rarely as good as if eaten in. Can't say much about service or ambience. We were on a bike ride and in search for a nice healthy bite to eat. Because that's what you do with a bite...you eat it. This place, I believe, was once the Sailing Boat. We were greeted at the door and quickly seated in a nice window booth and given menus. They have quite an extensive menu. The staff were kind and attentive. We quickly decided on a shared plate of tofu with noodles and bean sprouts. And we order a few small bites of sushi. Well the tofu dish was incredible. It came out really hot, full of flavor and that crunchy texture on the tofu was oh so perfect. The salmon Nigiri was sweet, silky, smooth and so fresh. My wife always likes to order a California roll...and she did. We shared a beer, finished everything, settled the bill, tip generously and back to the bikes. Nicely done. read more

Their service is always fantastic! The cuisine is wonderful. I love the painting behind the sushi bar. Their restaurant is clean and they have a variety of dishes to choose from. The food was good. The service, however, was terrible. Very slow, no personality and he took forever it just really threw the entire meal off. We mentioned our experience on our way out "we were really busy" the weren't more than two other tables with people at them and "he's new he started a week ago" clearly he should be shadowed and trained properly before being on his own he needs a lot of work. Used to really like this place but it will be awhile before we try again - meh. read more

I know my last review said we would not be trying this establishment again but it's been 3 years and I am glad we did. This time around I had the lemon chicken meal with fried rice, an egg roll and egg drop soup. All items were very good and the portions were big, enough for 2 meals. My husband ordered the Viper roll and said it was fantastic. Happy to report neither felt ill afterwards and we will be ordering from here again. read more

Absolutely amazed! We are not from the area -- but we're moving here as soon as possible! And we were on our way out after the last 5 days. We stumbled across this page when my boyfriend was on IG. He knows my love for Japanese and Thai so he's like should we go here? Our son will always get down with miso soup! Upon walking in we noticed the open layout and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Staff greeted us promptly (within a minute). We were pleasantly surprised at how delicious everything was! My mom and I went once for lunch and we got the sushi below. I lived the atmosphere it was clean and modern. Service was fast and they were polite. Update - we went for dinner as a group of 6. I got the same roll I got before and it was just as great! This time around we had more people who got the honey walnut shrimp and sweet and sour chicken. But my problem with them, is that I ordered online, paid online, and the woman at the front desk was convinced that I wasn't the person who ordered and paid for the food. I get it, my name is spelled in the Irish spelling of Stephen. But that's my name. I'm a guy. She had to get her manager to convince her I wasn't a Stephanie. The food was tasty. I loved the fried egg on the street green beans. Keep in mind I was very hungry, so that might influence my ratings. The street basil green beans were a recommendation from a friend and it was a good one. I dumped the bowl on my rice--not sure about the etiquette there‍--and it was nice having the juices seep in to the rice. The spring roll was good and I think they put a bit of spice in the dipping sauce. Servers were very friendly and nice. The restaurant is open and we were there at 8 pm so it was not loud. Good food, good atmosphere, was there at around 2pm for a late lunch. Place was not real busy but it did have five full tables of parties of 2 to 5 people per table. Did get asked if I wanted a refill on my Pepsi, but I got a refill of Dr Pepper instead. Honest mistake....didn't take away from the rest of my visit. Will go back. 2.5 Two of us went around 5 on the Wednesday before Xmas. Not busy at all. We were greeted and seated immediately and brought waters. We asked a couple of questions about the menu then placed our orders. We started with cream cheese wontons and they were really good. I ordered chicken breast and mushrooms with chicken fried rice. Corina ordered beef and broccoli also with the chicken fried rice. It came with egg flower soup and an egg roll - they were both ok. We both felt our meals lacked any real flavor. Recently had the pleasure of eating lunch at Thai House Restaurant on 2772 Churn Crk Rd where the Sailing Boat was located... This was my first time eating here. First I'd like to say that the restaurant itself is extremely clean. After walking in we were promptly greeted with smiling faces that immediately showed us to out seats. Drinks were brought out quickly as well as our appetizers which are not pictured because they were eaten so quickly. Deliciousness Plates ordered and pictured: - Mongolian Beef Lunch(Fried rice & eggroll included) - Chicken Chow-main - Viper Roll - Spider Roll My first order at a new Chinese/Thai/Japanese basically anywhere that sells it is Mongolian Beef. I typically judge if I'll be back to the restaurant on this dish... I was not disappointed. The beef was tender and the sauce was full of flavor. Added benefit was that they have an incredible Thai style hot sauce that added the "heat" I love. Absolutely delicious. Next I like to try the noodles. I get the chow-main nowadays because my son likes it. Usually most are lacking the flavor punch I enjoy but this one was full of flavor. Pretty delicious also. Finally I'd like to comment on the new Sushi Bar and Chef they have. Apparently the Chef is from New York and traditionally trained in Japan. His rolls were exceptionally well done. The sauces and size were perfect. The fish was fresh and melted in my mouth. I'd have to say it was the best sushi I've had in Redding. Overall this restaurant is highly recommended and highly under appreciated. A must try. read more

This place is great! We tried it for the first time tonight and loved it. They care about the food they serve, down to the delicious ginger and wasabi. The ingredients are fresh and tasty, nothing is overcooked. We had the Masago Rolls, Radish Sushi rolls, Drunken Noodles, and Yellow Curry. Really good and we will be back. Since I'm relatively new to Redding, I'm always looking for good Thai food and I haven't tried everything here yet, so most restaurants are new to me. Tonight, I tried Thai House for the first time. Glad I did! I was craving some Beef Pho. Which is exactly what I ordered. But first, had to start with shrimp spring rolls. They were very fresh tasting, and cut nicely, so you could really get the sauces (peanut and sweet chili - which were delicious, by the way!) on each bite. When the Pho arrived I was not disappointed! Steaming hot with fragrant herbs, and bean sprouts and basil on the side. Delicious! The second dish to arrive was Chicken Pad Thai, because that's how I judge (maybe a tad unfairly) a Thai restaurant. If the Pad Thai is bad, pretty much everything else is too. Ok, maybe that's not completely accurate. But, the Pad Thai was great! Not too sweet, and not too peanut-buttery, but nice and balanced. Everything felt fresh, cooked to order, had layers of flavor and the staff was super friendly as well. Thai House turned out to be a very pleasant experience. We stopped on our way home from Oregon since it was the closest Thai restaurant to Hwy 5. Very diverse menu, including Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese , but we decided on one of the rice combo plates - ordered the spicy green beans and the pumpkin curry. Food was plentiful and quite tasty. I would have liked more spice in both dishes, but they had lots of options on the table to spice my food taste, so it was fine. Thai iced tea was not overly sweet. First timer review. I went to the new Thai House, (formerly Sailing Boat), on Churn Creek. Sailing Boat was a favorite of mine. Sadly, Thai House was a big disappointment. We went in for lunch at 11:30, (they open at 11). I ordered the orange chicken with fried rice. The chicken parts were hard & dry, the rice bland. I am guessing the chicken was day old and over cooked. The honey shrimp appetizer was good, the egg flower soup also good. The place was clean & friendly and the sushi looked good so the 3 stars. Walked in for the very first time...yes, thank you, thank you - please hold your applause until the end of the review. Place was clean and tidy. The menu was pretty easy to follow, so here was the order: Yellow curry and white rice, pot stickers, and chicken pad Thai. Food came out shortly after the order. The food, appearance wise, looked great and trust me, I'm a visual eater. The taste wasn't as great...sorta blah one-noted. I was looking for a full band or a symphony of some sort. I didn't care for the TV content during the meal, which was zebras, lions, monkeys, elephants and baboon booties...ya know the red hemmoriald looking butts. This place was amazing! Amazing flavors, portions and prices as well! They offer a complimentary side salad and egg rolls along with their curry which is unheard of :) In addition, they offer such a variety of cuisines as well which is a plus. This place is also the only place I found that actually has mango sticky rice as all the other Thai places I've been to recently have been all out!
