Worst car buying experience ever! I have purchased numerous cars in my time and this was the absolute worst! Purchased a 2016 that was used. In order to make the deal I had them agree to fix a scratch, a tear in a seat and provide rubber floor mats and cargo mat. After waiting over 3 hours to see the finance guy paper were finally signed on 11/8. Was told that car would be fixed by 11/15 and was given a loaner and promised we would never see the scratch. On 11/15 returned and the scratch had been touched and was as noticeable as before if not more. The seat had not even been repaired. After going back and forth with them saying they would not fix anymore, they decided to, since we never took delivery of the car. We asked about the floor and cargo mats that had been promised also at this time. We were given a dumb look from Phil the salesman, like what are you talking about? After showing them the IOU he came out with the floor mats and then told us he would overnight the cargo mat to our house. We were given the vehicle and accepted it (like dummies) being told to bring it back the following week and it the scratch again would be fixed and the seat would be fixed. On 11/18 the cargo mat that was to be overnight-ed had still not arrived. After contacting and threatening the salesman, we were told the mat was at the dealer and to come by on 11/19, which we did. We were told then to bring the car back the following day and drop it off for the repairs. The car was dropped off on 11/20 for the repairs that were to have happened the following week.( Mind you its 36 miles one way from our house to this dealer) On 11/23 my wife was contacted to tell her the scratch was repaired but the seat had not been and that we would have to bring it back again. Being totally unsatisfied with this I contact the GM who told me they had bent over backwards for us. Really??? We are the ones who are buying from you. So we got taken for a bumpy ride with the whole VW TDI scandal. As a result we were more than a little gun shy about car companies and dealerships. We met Kenneth and saw that both he and this experience was going to be different. Kenneth not only knew his product well but he knew how to treat a customer. Long story told shortly, we took our new Mazda on a trip this last weekend and it preformed exactly the way Kenneth said it would, maybe a little better. Stay far, far away from this sleazy car dealership. We went to purchase a used vehicle from them and after the vehicle wouldn't start (twice) and our bank (with whom we had pre approved financing) refused to finance that particular vehicle due to the sale price far exceeding it's appraised value and the vehicle's poor condition, we decided against the purchase of the vehicle. The dealership tried every pushy sales tactic to force the sale. When we still refused, they wouldn't release our trade-in and left us stranded with two young children and no vehicle. After this experience, I question the integrity and ethics of their business practices and I caution anyone in conducting business with this company. read more

Just bought a CPO used MX-5 from them and must say the experience was outstanding! Arek my salesman helped me through tons of questions online, and they were very fair about the price. Everyone we worked with from the sales managers to the finance person were all very friendly and professional. It was a 3 hour drive for me to get to the dealership, and it was well worth the trip. They have also been very prompt about following up with me on everything they owed me after the sale. I would highly recommend doing business with them. read more

He went through multiple cars in order to find me the right one that would fit my budget as a college student. His customer service was superb and I appreciate all of his hard work. If I could give them no stars I would. This place absolutely ripped us off and then acted like jerks. First off, I bought an rx 8 r3 from them and was thrilled to have it, the customer service was OK at best when I bought it. Then, after 6 months, I noticed my low oil light was on and my mileage wasn't nearly as high as it should be for the oil to be low. So I called this dealer and asked why the oil was low only for them to tell me that I'm supposed to check the oil every other time I fill it up with gas. I immediately got mad because NONE of the sales people told me that when I bought the car, don't get me wrong because I probably would have bought the car anyways but it's just the fact that they Didn't tell me about it. I could have seriously messed up the engine because they didn't tell me about the oil. And yet the sales person, even the manager, was rude. So I drove back up there because I wanted to sell my car back to them even though I love my car I simply refused to do business with them anymore. While discussing with the owner of the place about why I was trying to sell the car back he immediately blamed the problem on me and after discussing with him further he just left the table in the middle of me talking to him. I have bought Fords, Cadillac's, Mercedes Benz and NONE of those dealers were EVER as rude as this place. The owner of the place had the attitude of a teenager and kept accusing us of lying. I love my car but the people here were so rude that I would trade my car in for a prius just so they wouldn't get my business anymore. Please do me a favor and DO NOT go here. Completely rude. So this is more for the service department then the sales department, I did purchase my car here and second all reviews citing a bunch of shenanigans but I covered that elsewhere and, up until recently, I have never had a problem with their service department. Its been a steady decline over the last few months and today probably marks my last visit. It's silly really- I took the trouble to go online and print a coupon for $15 off an oil change. I gave it to them when I arrived and verified it was the right coupon for my oil change. When I checked out, I was given my total and, since it was almost exactly what i paid last time, I clarified if it was with my coupon. The guy jumps in and stutters around how they just lowered all of their prices so it's better than with the coupon. So you have a coupon available, in date, and on your direct website, that you aren't going to honor. You don't inform me of this when I check in and then you try to sham me about it? I get an oil change every four weeks as I drive a Lot for my job and I used to look forward to my peaceful hour in the waiting room while these guys just took care of it; however, if every time I go in I get skeezy, scammy business practices then I'd rather find a new spot. Shame on the management/owner as I had this conversation with four other customers In the waiting room today and we all seemed to feel the same so you appear to have a problem and don't seem to care to fix it...and honestly, it's not as much about the $15 as it is about transparent, honest business practices. Mthey were clearly having computer issues so either be honest about an oversite, about the fact that you just don't want to honor your coupon, or whatever but don't be shady. read more

I had a great experience at Pearson Mazda in Richmond, VA purchasing my 2012 Mazda3 i Grand Touring. I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this car. Some people said the seats weren't comfortable. They are in my opinion - not luxurious, but firm and comfortable on my longest drive to date of 3 hours. Yes, the Nav screen is small and doesn't have touchscreen capability; but, I've been in cars where they do and the screen takes up a big portion of the center console. Didn't like that. I can live with it being small and unobtrusive. As for gas mileage, I averaged 41.9 mpg on my interstate drive. While I could have driven 70, I didn't and kept it at 65. Makes a difference. And the road was very hilly over half of the drive. Can't hardly beat that in a non-hybrid these days. Your gas mileage is definitely a reflection of how you drive. It's my first new car since 1976. I had a great experience when buying a used car from Pearson Mazda. I've been a CarMax customer for years and couldn't imagine going anywhere else until I found the 2008 Volvo with low mileage that I had been looking for at a fantastic price on the Pearson website. I was there early the next morning to test drive it. It was a gem! There was no need to negotiate the price since the online price was the best that I'd found and it beat CarMax pricing for a similar vehicle. (Keep in mind that the online price is often lower than the sticker price on the lot.) The salesman, Paul Thrasher, was great. He didn't pressure me to make a decision quickly even though another woman came in after I did with the intent to purchase the same car. He went over my options for recourse in the event that there was anything wrong with the car since that was my biggest concern. I was really satisfied with the coverage that they provided. Jimmy handled the paperwork very quickly and I was out the door with car before lunch. I took it to my mechanic for a complete check and he said that it was in great condition. Paul followed up with me several times after the purchase to make sure that I was still happy with the car and satisfied with the car-buying experience at Pearson. read more

DO NOT BUY A USED CAR AT WEST BROAD AUDI THAT IS NOT ONE OF THEIR BRANDS. I was looking for a good, safe, reliable used car for my teenage daughter. We test drove a 2008 Chevrolet Impala that West Broad Audi had taken on a trade in. The car was very clean and the exterior was immaculate. We didn't have any problems on the test drive and decided to buy the car because the price was right. I admit that I did not have the car checked by my mechanic. I will never do that again. My daughter started having issues with the car almost immediately. The car shuddered when the transmission was shifting from one gear to another after stopping. We took the car back to the West Broad Audi Service Department twice -- once it had to be towed. The answer we always got was "we can't find anything wrong." They never did any work on the car. A month later my daughter was on a road trip to another part of the state and had a minor accident. The shop she took the car to did a complete diagnostic analysis and found the car needed close to $2000 work on the brake lines, the transmission, and a very loud vent fan motor. We had the work done at that shop, since West Broad's Service Department wasn't competent enough to find the issues. Seems like close to $2000 of work would have had some appeal to them. I went here for a used car we saw online. It was a clean carfax, one owner and one year old. It was certified preowned and came with the extended madza warranty. We called and made an appointment and drove two and a half hours to look at it. I liked the car. My experience with the dealership was horrible. I should have just walked away and never brought the car. I even said it twice that I should be going somewhere else. They were rude. The number we agreed on and i signed on the paperwork, the finance manager put for higher in the loan. We had to disagree about that and I had to say you can have your car back before it came back down to what we agreed and signed on. Everything they did was very backwards, for example they ran a credit app by hand on paper then someone else went and entered it into the computer. This is my third car in 4 years and my second one we have drove to richmond to purchase and I will never go to this dealership again. My tags have been a nightmare to get. They let my 30 day expire. I have called and called and called about it for over a week. After they expired and I have been calling so long they overnighted me more. They said they notified me about a problem with proof of insurance which I sent them the paperwork on the 3rd and 17th never heard a response. I emailed them 6 times and never heard a response either. Once they got my money they were done. read more

Absolutely DEPLORABLE what they did to us. Bought a 2012 Mazda3..which of course, they ALL know how to do, sell that is. Here we are only TWO YEARS LATER (agreeably, high mileage at 78K, but still should NEVER happen) and the transmission craps out. Service says can't be repaired (meaning, too many man hours for them to be bothered), needs to be replaced. While out of warranty, we're of course at Mazda's mercy. So corporate offers $$ towards the repair, great, they didn't have to do that. So Pearson quotes one price before they know that, then jack it up and say, "oh, forgot fluid and sales tax," and now we're over FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS to repair the transmission which should NEVER crap out at 78,000!! And, get this....when you ask the guy the warranty he said ONE YEAR, parts & labor. Can't type what I wouldn't like to say, but lemme tell you...will NEVER EVER EVER buy a Mazda again. Bunch of crooks feeding off people's hard earned $$. No problem, everyone wants to make a profit...but $5,000 for a used, rebuilt tranny that should've never failed in the first place?
