Glenn's the best. Does a great job and won't try to sell you on anything the car doesn't need.

My Ford was making the saddest sound... so I hauled it to the trans doc for a check up! The experts…read moreat Weaver operated on my Explorer and gave it a new life! We've taken several of our vehicles here, and they are highly recommended by several service stations in the Richmond area. They guarantee their work and their transmissions. After our car was fixed and it needed an adjustment, they took care of it lickety split! If you transmission is feeling poorly, take it into Weaver's! They will give your car a clean bill of health! And speaking's of bills, they offer decent prices, better than most anyone else around!

Realize that this was my baby who has been there for me and seen so many wonderful adventures. Besides my wonderful children it's the only thing left I have from a previous marriage. I equate this experience to an ER visit. The office manager phoned me back to give me the Dr's findings. As feared, The transmission was DOA. Parts were scarce. The"good news was that the baby could be saved for a mere $5,000.00. I was stunned and could not breathe. I went into denial and various other stages of grief and asked If I could think it over. Honestly, I should have called them back much faster than I did. Life is tough and I'm doing my level best. I was contacted by a gruff office manager who had mistaken me as a deadbeat not as a "grieving parent". I was shocked by the tone and inflexibility and was then ordered to get my vehicle immediately of it would be towed. No options were offered to me. I paid the surgeon 100 plus dollars who then quickly dismissed me as the perceived deadbeat and briskly hung up. The solution, I'd recommend that some kind of sensitivity training be mandated just so the office manager would have an opportunity to begin to heal and feel better.

Instant Car Fix is based in Northern Virginia and is not a local repair company, despite how they may appear online. They contract out work to local mechanics to perform the actual repairs. The technicians do the diagnostics, labor, and customer facing work, not Instant Car Fix themselves. In my experience, the pay offered was low compared to the work required, and more importantly, payment was delayed and not issued as expected for completed jobs. This creates real hardship for local mechanics and their families who depend on timely payment for their labor. Customers should know that when using Instant Car Fix, you are not supporting a local repair business, but a middleman platform that outsources work. Local mechanics often have more accountability, better communication, and stronger ties to the community. I strongly encourage customers to support truly local, independent mobile mechanics and technicians to be cautious and get clear payment terms in writing before accepting work from Instant Car Fix.

I brought my 2015 Audi A7 to this shop for a coolant leak/overheating issue and ultimately spent…read morearound $3,000 on repairs including water pump-related work, belt/tensioner, hoses, diagnosis, etc. Initially, the staff seemed knowledgeable, and I appreciated that they identified an active coolant leak. However, after getting the vehicle back, the car continued losing coolant rapidly -- even while sitting parked overnight. I also experienced smoke from the exhaust at startup and additional oil leakage concerns after the repair. What became frustrating for me was the diagnostic process afterward. Once I returned with continued coolant loss concerns, the conversation shifted almost immediately toward "internal engine damage" and engine replacement, despite no combustion leak test, leak-down test, or follow-up compression testing being performed to confirm catastrophic engine failure. I understand overheating can potentially damage an engine, and I'm not disputing that possibility. My issue is that I did not feel there was enough confirmed diagnostic evidence presented before recommending something as major and expensive as an engine replacement. I also physically observed dried coolant residue and evidence of external coolant spray/leakage around the engine bay, and the vehicle was still losing coolant while parked and not running, which I felt deserved further external leak investigation before jumping to the conclusion of full engine replacement. To be fair, the staff did communicate concerns about possible overheating damage from the beginning. However, I left feeling more pushed toward a worst-case scenario than guided through a complete and confirmed diagnosis process. At minimum, I would strongly recommend that future customers request: combustion/block testing compression/leak-down testing and clear confirmation of leak sources before agreeing to major engine replacement recommendations.
