My friend doesn't have a yelp so I am sharing this for him: While I am a huge Mazda fan, this dealerships service department was a terrible experience. Left the piece they installed on my car wrong and when I asked them to fix it, before they even saw any pictures immediately denied any wrong doing. Ignored my phone calls, and refused to fix it or give me a refund for labor. Whitten Mazda will be go to from now on. They continued to claim my car was messed up, can you explain to me why the car looks fine in the previous picture, but not after they installed the new piece? All I asked was for it to be fixed, and you couldn't even do that. Now I have to deal with a jacked up body panel. Update: just found out that Pearson Mazda doesn't do body work, they would have to outsource it to a 3rd party. So they had no business touching my car in the first place, since a body shop tech didn't touch my car. My car is currently at Whitten Mazda being fixed. Update 2: Whitten Mazda took these 3 photos (black pieces) of my car showing what was wrong with it. Pearson Mazda forced the clips in and broke them. Resulting in my car looking the way it did. Pearson Mazda has still refused to reach out to me to help me resolve the issue or give me a refund. I would recommend Whitten Mazda 100%, but Pearson Mazda handle the situation extremely poorly, were rude to me, ignored me, and were just an all-around bad dealership to work with. I would love for Pearson to contact me and explain why they told me my car was the way it was when they got it, when in fact they were the ones who broke it. I'll even throw in a picture of what my car looked like before. I did not write this review to be spiteful, or hateful. I'm simply letting you know and letting other people know that you did not handle the situation correctly. You were telling me things that were not true, and were gaslighting me. Making me think my car was in an accident and has body work done. (neither of which are true I checked carfax before I bought the car) I really wish you could've handled the situation differently because I would not be sitting here wasting my time writing this review and paying another dealership to fix your mistake. For future reference, don't tell someone that they don't have an issue with the car before seeing pictures.

There are lots of pros about this dealership. I bought my Passat here 8 years ago, and almost…read morealways went here for servicing. The sales people are very personable and helpful, and I found it relatively quick and painless to buy the car. The service people are also truly committed to providing good customer service. The waiting area is very nice, and they have a shuttle if your car will be in the shop for a long time. The cons are the price - part of which is merely the burden of having a VW. They do great quality work, so I found it worthwhile to have certain fixes done there. (But auto shops would probably be cheaper.) In one case, they fixed a tail light for a state inspection and charged $30 for labor. (?!?!) That was really unfortunate, because I could have done it myself, or had an auto supply store do it free... So, if you pick and choose what you have them do, I think the shop is worth using at times.

I come from a family of VW owners, I even went to the original Woodstock and a micro bus with my parents. That said it is because of the experience with this and other Volkswagen dealers that we have decided to sell all 4 of our families VWs. Never again will any of us drive a VW solely based on the fact that the mechanics and the service department are completely clueless and seemingly dishonest. I wish I had a fraction of the tens of thousands of dollars I have wasted at the dealership for them to tell me that they're fixing problems only to find out that there was no problem or that they didn't fix the right problem at all. We have lost complete faith in west broad Volkswagen and pretty much all Volkswagen dealers ability to solve even simple problems like fixing an air conditioner. It's really sad because I've always loved the brand and I Have had absolute brand loyalty going back to the 60s and they just don't know what they're doing and you end up with cars they literally cannot be fixed. I've got two Volkswagens right now that I have paid probably $10,000 between the two of them to have Repaired over and over and they just are stealing from me at this point and are still broken. I don't know that they're dishonest so much as they are completely incompetent. I'm gonna move onto brands where they actually have qualified mechanics that know how to repair the cars that they sell. It's been a good run VW but I'm tired of hemorrhaging money on incompetence.

I asked each dealer to provide written quotes so I could compare everything clearly and consistently. I detailed the exact specs/trim I was looking for. Prior to sending that message, about a week previously I did visit this dealership in person and completed a test drive. They were friendly during this visit, and I liked that they left me take the vehicle out by myself with no time constraints. Following that visit, I received multiple follow-ups, every day, over the next week across texts, phone calls, and emails (all on the same day). While I understand the importance of follow-up, the frequency felt excessive--especially since I had not responded or engaged further. When it came time to give me quotes, communication didn't align with my request to handle things in writing. Instead of receiving a clear written quote early on, I was asked to discuss details over the phone. I had specifically asked to keep communication via email to stay organized. The initial quote I did receive was for a vehicle with over 7,000 miles, which I later confirmed was a manager-driven/demo vehicle. The mileage was not disclosed from the outset, and the pricing was not competitive compared to other dealers offering actual new vehicles. After that, there were attempts to reconnect and reset the conversation, but I never received a clean, written quote on a new vehicle that matched my requested configuration. Just a request for me to call them on the phone and talk. I already had six quotes in hand from other dealers on vehicles with 0 to 15 miles, with all but one of them cheaper than what they quoted for a car with 7,000+ miles on it. In the end, I chose to move forward with another dealer who gave a great quote the first time in writing, included an accessory package as well, and made it a simple and straightforward process. I trust these folks are nice people based on my initial interactions, but folks are usually nice when they are trying to attract a sale. I appreciate the effort to follow up, but overall the experience didn't align with what I was looking for in the buying process or respectful of the information I provided to all dealers to give a level playing field (give me your best quote upfront then I'm making a decision the next day).

We will continue to strive in making your car buying experience a relaxed, fun, and stress-free process." Count us among Gary's new-found friends and endorsers. In our case, we had an unusual set of transportation needs. We were looking for a high-end RV to support our plans for cross-country roadtrips. Suffice it to say that our needs didn't match the typical run-of-the-mill item in Gary's inventory. But, leave it to Gary to find what we were looking for... A beautiful, previously owned, low-mileage, pristine condition, Mercedes/Airstream RV! Who could have imagined?!? It has proven to be the ideal vehicle for us and we love it!. This is a great illustration of the lengths Gary will go to in order to make new friends and satisfied customers. We managed to conclude a transaction for the RV quickly and easily. Gary and the other members of his team were very helpful and wonderful to work with. Gary is very personable and plain-spoken in helping to find the right vehicle at the right price. We very quickly felt at ease with Gary and the sense that we were working with a trusted friend. Based on our experience with Gary, we're confident you'll have a similar experience. Though we live in the Washington, DC area, we plan to return to Gary's Community Auto the next time we need a car and I'm sure he'll find just the right thing for us once again. Happy car shopping!
