Friendly and generous sample size. The owner also takes request for any flavor you like. My favorite is Rum Raisin.

Market of Choice is an upscale specialty grocer on a par with New Seasons. It's a much more…read morefriendly place than Whole Paycheck. You go there looking for specialty stuff you can't find any where else -- fruit/veggies in season, fresh meat/poultry/fish, fine wine, cheese, gourmet coffee, etc. The staff is friendly & knowlegeable & the vibe is pretty laid back. I much prefer MoC to New Seasons. There's no comparison to Whole Paycheck ... MoC is waaaaaay better!

I've found vegan items that I haven't been able to find at other stores. I love these Skinny Mint Cookies that I discovered there that are vegan and gluten free..yumm! I also grabbed a Red Lentil Vegan Shepherds Pie for dinner. That was good and savory, though I could have done without the peas. I was happy that I found vegan mozzarella cheese sticks that I needed for a recipe, couldn't find them at other stores. After shopping, my sister and I grabbed coffee in the little coffee shop inside the store and went upstairs to sit in a comfortable chair near the fireplace to chat. There's a community room, I believe you can book it for meetings such as book clubs. There's a microwave upstairs. It's a budget friendly option, my 16 oz. Sugar free Hazelnut latte with soy milk was only $4.50. Some things are a little spendier at Market of Choice. But so many things I can't find elsewhere. I will be returning!

I was craving a yearly "Roasted squash soup" which i make rather well using Hubbard squash. I asked for a recommendation figuring he may know more than I do about his products..HE DID! He suggested a squash ive never heard of, never used, the "Black Futsu". It was spot on..flavorful. rich, nutty and deep..WITH the skin on after roasting! I will use this from here on out.. Little cardamom, saffron and turmeric..splash of whole coconut milk for "fat". UNBELIEVABLE! GIVE THIS SHOP A TRY Their pears are always ready unlike grocery store also!

When the whole SNAP benefits nightmare happened, many places were giving out to those of us who are on benefits. I was grateful and held onto my credit which worked out perfectly. I got a last minute invite for Thanksgiving with friends and I wanted to make a few dishes to bring. My $20 credit was good till 11/30 so I spent a little over $6 on my SNAP card. All their produce is from local farms and I was in shock as to how gorgeous it is. Certain root vegetables like rutabegga, turnips and pearl onions can be challenging to get but they had them and they were some of the best I've ever seen! I couldn't resist some lemons and blood oranges because they looked so amazing. I also had to get apples, kale, and green onions. I realized I was dancing around while bagging some produce to 'Can I Kick It?' by A Tribe Called Quest... they even play good music??? Also, it's not often that the owners are right there working there at a business. Plus they're super nice and clearly love what they do! Thank you so much Kristin and Jason!

Pretty interesting variety of goods there was everything from meats, salsa, all kinds of snacks and ice cream sauces, breads ready to go to dessert, beers, and a lot of cool drinks. I wanted to try them and ordered 5 pounds of mussels in December. They delivered the mussels when they said they would. But the 5 pounds quickly ended up being only 3 1/2 pounds of usable mussels due to the initial short weight and the large number of broken and opened mussels. After I was invoiced for the full 5 pounds, I emailed them with an explanation and photos of the bad mussels and how much they weighed. I asked if they would discount the mussels. They actually cancelled my invoice, which I appreciated. But this is their email response. "Fresh live shellfish is not an exact science, we try to offer the best quality and freshest products possible but that is a slightly different experience than the buying at the grocery store. Sorry for your inconvenience, we are better than the rest but still not for everyone." This sounded to me like they didn't like me complaining about this problem and that I wasn't someone that they wanted for a customer. Guess I was right, looks like they took me off of the weekly email list as I haven't received their emails since my complaint. Overall, this was not a good customer experience.
