They didn't have the cheese rings but the happy teens found other junky treats at reasonable prices.

I have a teenager who is obsessed with all things Asian. We are not remotely Asian ( Irish and German) , but I was born in San Francisco to adventurous parents who had lived in Hawaii and Korea, so this is likely my fault. My first memory is eating dim sum with chopsticks at about age 2. My kid, well. She loves anime, manga, cosplay, Kumoricon, uwajimaya, chopsticks, sushi, Sanrio, etc. She is all in. And the latest obsession is Filipino junk food which she is exploring with passionate 16 year old determination. The favorites are cheese rings, sort of a sweeter o shaped cheeto, and honey butter flavored potato chips. The latter sounds awful but they are strangely addictive. ( They are loaded with msg and sugar though, tbh). This little store has a junk food aisle teeming with goodies and even though my kid didn't find the cheese rings she did find the honey chips for less than she's purchased them elsewhere AND " in bigger bags, Mom!" And it is closer to our house. Nice people too. She will be needing a job to support this snack habit (and the cosplay). She wants to come back to try the halo halo and other goodies that we didn't try today. And I will be filling our fridge with superfoods trying to counteract the snacks which she calls "the yummies!!!!" Oh boy. The parking lot is a hot mess, be warned.

Shelves full of the Asian goodness!

The U-Need Asian Market is yet *another* ethnic grocery, this one chock-a-block with everything from the Far East, from sauces to snacks, rice to condiments. Families strolled through while I was taking photos, the kids happily selecting sweets, the mothers picking up and chatting about staples, whilst the fathers hung by the front door, managing the mayhem. It's great to know there are all these cornucopia scattered about Beaverton, waiting to fill your every ethnic cooking need. U-Need Asian Market does a good job of helping out.

This is a great place to buy asian snacks and treats! Prices are incredible, i got two bags of chips, two bags of cheese rings (which are super good) and a ramune for $5.99. The people working there are always very nice and friendly. One of my favorite places for sure!

    Yummy!!!

For the past two summers, we have stopped shopping at other stores entirely to buy exclusively from them. The prices are also incredibly reasonable for such high-quality, organic items. As a vegetarian and an organic enthusiast, the 185th Grocery store is absolute heaven for me. When the whole SNAP benefits nightmare happened, many places were giving out to those of us who are on benefits. I was grateful and held onto my credit which worked out perfectly. I got a last minute invite for Thanksgiving with friends and I wanted to make a few dishes to bring. My $20 credit was good till 11/30 so I spent a little over $6 on my SNAP card. All their produce is from local farms and I was in shock as to how gorgeous it is. Certain root vegetables like rutabegga, turnips and pearl onions can be challenging to get but they had them and they were some of the best I've ever seen! I couldn't resist some lemons and blood oranges because they looked so amazing. I also had to get apples, kale, and green onions. I realized I was dancing around while bagging some produce to 'Can I Kick It?' by A Tribe Called Quest... they even play good music??? Also, it's not often that the owners are right there working there at a business. Plus they're super nice and clearly love what they do! Thank you so much Kristin and Jason!

I'm used to stopping at the NE location and it's a vastly different experience. This chain can never be my everything grocery store, but for pantry items, canned goods and discounted wine, you can't beat the prices. If I'm buying produce, I give it a thorough look. They even have really nice greeting cards for $1.99. Bargain Market sells items that are close to expiration, which is why the prices are lower, so pay attention if you are buying items where this matters like cheese, meat, bagged salads, yogurt and dairy. Personally, I stay away from buying their meat because the quality is sub par. A package of chicken tenders had so many tendons that after I cut them out, the meat was all diced up and no longer a "tender." Same with a tri-pack of seasoned taco meat (steak, pork, chicken) - all so overseasoned they were indistinguishable. But a 4-pack of 14 oz Swanson chicken broth for $2.29; Progresso Parmesan Breadcrumbs for $1.49; 28 oz cans of Muir crushed tomatoes for 99 cents; and a huge bag of dried chili mango for $7 were items well worth the price. Wine is also reduced and sometimes they offer additional 20% off. I'm a fan of rEd blends and cabs and they have lots of options. I'll use my smartphone to look up the wine to see the reviews and to make sure the price is really a deal. Sometimes they over exaggerate the "original" price, but even when they do, the marked price is typically less than elsewhere. Staff was very friendly and they were genuinely happy when I complimented the condition of the store, saying they hear that all the time.

I usually park a little ways out to avoid the congestion. On this particular day, I left home 15 minutes earlier to meet friends at a restaurant on Walker Rd. After lunch, I was planning on joining a friend at the gym. I had lost my lock, so I wanted to pick one up on the way to the restaurant. I didn't have a lot of leeway, but I thought this would be a quick in and out. When I entered the side entrance, I saw a cashier, and I thought that would be perfect for checking out on the way out. I was having a hard time locating the Hardware section. I didn't see anyone to ask..so I just wandered in a direction I thought it would be. I finally found the Hardware section, but didn't see anything saying locks. Again, no one to ask, so I wandered the aisles. I finally found the combination locks. I made a beeline for the cashier I saw when entering the store. There weren't any customers in her area, she was having a conversation with a fellow employee. I walked over to the counter and the other employee left. I saw a closed sign on the counter, so I asked if she was closed, and she said yes. So I started to walk away to search for an open cashier. As I started to walk away, I looked back and there wasn't a closed sign on the register on the other side. So I asked her if this side was open and she said yes. So I said, OK. And she asked me "what was that?" And I said, "OKAY!" Why didn't she let me know that she could help me on the other side?? And the way she asked me, "What was that?" Was said with an attitude. So I said "OKAY" with an attitude back!
