The first thing I noticed were the halal variants on pork bacon; pork is, of course, not halal. Family run halal meat shop with a captive audience. It is a few miles away from the next nearest meat store, but those few miles are unfortunately worth it. The products are mostly frozen and vary in price based upon a whim. That is, many products don't have prices, but some do. If your selection doesn't have a price, it's the cashier's choice. As far as customer service, the son lacks all skills, but the dad makes the rudest statements. Specifically he mentioned how stupid women were because they always try to return meat. While I would love to support a business like this, 5/5 times I have visited, I have been dismayed and annoyed. read more

Glad this store provides halal meat to this community, however something struck me as unusual. My father came back with halal beef, priced at 3.99 a pound, but when opening the package, we found out half the package were bones. You could not tell from outside the package because the bones (mostly inedible) were placed in the very center, probably to add weight. Now I understand boneless halal meat comes at a premium price, but the way this was packaged seemed intentionally misleading, especially considering that I can buy shin bones for 1.99/lb if I actually wanted to get bones for broth or something. Frankly, these bones were in random shapes and sizes not even fit for a dog. I have been to halal butchers in other cities and have never seen any attempt to sell bones that should have been thrown away in the first place. I want to support them for providing halal options in this area, and couldn't bring myself to leave a one star review. read more

I got goat meat 3.50 pounds packet. No meat, all ribs and bones, low grade. Charged me 7$ each pound. I felt cheated.

Got 3 bags of precut chicken which cost 15+$ per chicken. Have been willing to pay the premium for zabihah halal. Got home and found one chicken had broken bones, bleeding in muscle. This would suggest animal was not slaughtered by halal principles. Went back returned chicken. Owner was on vacation. 2 of workers did not even refund. I am growing skeptical of the halal branding in US as a way to sell industrialized grown meat at premium rates. Even though he has a monopoly I will try to avoid this store. read more

Its frustrating to be told he cant cut the meat for me bc he's busy (there was one other customer in the store). Usually my husband comes here on fridays after friday prayers (which is usually busy here) and he has never had a problem getting meat cut (pre covid, during covid, a week earlier...) I had to come this week to get the meat bc he's working at the hospital this week and asked the meat counter to do what my husband ask them to do weekly and I was denied bc they were busy. The store was not busy. Disappointed bc we actually liked getting meat here even though it was out of the way for us. read more

Wow...That is all I can say about this store.. I shop here at least once a week and always find what I need and something new to try..I really am impressed with the meat and how the cut to my request.I smoke and grill different cuts and with 3 Sizes of pellet smokers I like to try different techniques..I have a recipe for smoked lamb that came out perfect (because of the quality and the angle of their cuts not my skills!!!)..also,a lamb has to be good quality to be thinly sliced when chilled after smoking..wiWhen you try something and it works,you stick with it!!!.wish I could show pics of how it came out!!! when I ask for something they carry,they remember the next time I come in..The store reminds me of the local butcher shop growing up in a little town in Ohio..where my grandmother took me.. my wife loves the selection and how well they treat her...I also shop for my in-laws...easy to go one place and shop for what they need. I really like the quality of packaged goods here. It's my go to place for anything Middle Eastern: Labne, moulokhiyyeh, thin style pita bread ($1.79 for the large), foul medemmas, you name it! I haven't gotten the courage to try ordering from the meat counter yet, but the tiny store has NEVER smelled like stale, rotten meat which is what I have found in other halal meat markets. In fact, you could walk in and never know they cut up the meat for you right there unless you ask! read more

Editing my review to address the false/insincere response the owner left on my comment: The claim that my mother was poking at the meat is untrue. It sounds like you are trying to gain sympathy from readers of this review by justifying what happened during the awful transaction that took place in your store. The meat being referenced here was vacuum sealed and behind the counter. Her only inquiry was "is the meat fresh and are you able to cut it up in pieces" As mentioned earlier, she speaks limited English, which is why i stepped in to translate when the man behind the counter was literally verbally abusing her. Not only are you being unethical by trying deflect the situation, you are being dishonest. As an owner your response and the way you are handling customer feedback is poorly executed. Future costumers, please only only give your money to business that practice good ethics and at the very least decent costumer services. I also reported this encounter along with the expired products being sold against regulations to the Better business Bureau and the FDA. Do better! ____________________________________________________________ Disgusting costumer service. The employee that cuts up the meat was disrespectful to my elderly mother who was asking questions. And I quote "you're giving me a headache lady" and when I intervene he said we should go shop somewhere else because we were asking too many questions. Will never step foot in this halal store. I went to the store to pick up gyro meat in the frozen section. They had a lot to choose from. I saw the meat in display it looked good and red, no bones or fat, looked lean and trim. I bought more than I thought I was going to buy. It's great! read more
