Really good dancers there, but they are pretty patient with learners. Nothing negative about the experience! Lots of bars, so you can always get a drink pretty quickly. It was busy, but I didn't wait much at any bar. I like that the bars have different themes. Take me to the bourbon bar every time though. Service with a big smile because everything is bigger in Texas!

When you think Texas, while you may think line dancing and country bars, you rarely think of a gay country bar with line dancing! But it exists and is Round-Up Saloon! The bar is large, as are most things in Texas. While it seems like one big open space, there are separate areas from the dance floor to pool table area, more formal bar station and even a patio. There are six distinct bars throughout, each with their own vibe! This makes getting a drink easier and cuts down on the wait, which is very appreciated by all! We spent most of our time overlooking the dance floor. When we wanted a drink, we made our way to the small corner bar. We had a favorite bartender and this was their station for the night! Speaking of drinks, they are a bit pricey, including a water, but with that, they are certainly gay-bar strong! With the size of the place, it can and does get packed, so be prepared. There is enough space, but it gets intimate the later in the evening it gets. Overall, we had a phenomenal time at Round-Up Saloon. The most memorable part, which was amazing to see and feel, was the spirit of everyone just existing and being themselves. Absolutely one of my favorite gay bars I have visited!

There's a good number of lockers for gear, booths for eating/drinking as well as pool tables and a small store featuring leather goods, t-shirts, and other merchandise. Although it's a leather bar I think most anyone would be comfortable here to toss back a beverage or three. There are Eagle bars in many major cities but this one is now a favorite. Highly recommended.

I remember the old Dallas Eagle on Inwood Road back in the 1990's. A great dive bar with all the charms of a Texas roadhouse with lots of men wearing painted on boot cut Wrangler jeans, cowboy boots, western hats as well as leather, uniforms. Friendly crowd that wants lots of man to man interactions drinking beer, whiskey, whooping & hollering. Only the infamous Trestle (R.I.P) could beat the Eagle back in the days of yore for the playfulness and camaraderie.   Well, Dallas Eagle has moved  farther south to a more secluded location more fit for a true roadhouse like in an El Paso Wreaking Company sort of way.  Huge building, that looks like strange, modern brutalist architecture with a faux western saloon façade, to accommodate a good crowd. Outdoor patio to smoke cigars which could be ideal for pups & their masters. Indoor long U shaped full service bar with multiscreen tv's. Draft beers, and they do have my favorite Texas Shiner Bock.  Obligatory pool table as well as a St. Andrew's cross for those into chamois deer skIn floggers, etc. Lockers to stow your gear although not sure if locks are provided. Leather Store. Amazing display cases featuring colors, memorabilia from various motorcycle, Bear, Leder organizations.  There are happy hours everyday except for Monday. Tuesday has all day discounted domestic beers & well drinks. Tons of special nights that cater to different segments of the Leather Community which you can look up on their website.  5 stars

There was a not great drag show going on with a few onlookers downstairs. I checked upstairs because I love karaoke, but it was not great up there either. There are huge soft couches to sit in, which is awesome if you're there with a group. It's less awesome if you're there alone trying to socialize. There was nobody dancing. Maybe after the drag show finished some dancing happened. On the positive side, there were mostly women there. The $6 cover didn't bother me. If it keeps one of the very few lesbian bars out there open, then I'd pay double that. Next time I'm in Dallas, I'm going to give them another shot without as much pre-gaming.

And I had to try one of their famous coconut drinks, especially since the character Sue Ellen was a raging alcoholic on the Dallas TV show. I started laughing when I saw the big pink neon sign inside that says "i CAME in Sue Ellen's" that is hung on a wall with leaves that looks like a bush. And the place looks like a lot of fun with 2 floors, pool tables and a gigantic bar inside. There's a terrace outside where patrons can sit and to relax. I didn't try the food. After a couple of drinks at Sue Ellen's, you can always go and check out JR's upstairs.

It's very large being two stories with several rooms including the Rose Room Lounge which could almost be a separate club all by itself where they host all of their drag shows - lots of famous girls from RuPaul's drag race got their start there. There is a large outdoor deck upstairs as well as downstairs. Drinks are super cheap. This place is known as the "afties" bar because they are open until 4 AM though they will still stop serving alcohol at 2 AM The biggest downside is that they tend to charge a cover almost every night, which is pretty annoying, but I guess that's standard for Dallas.
