Classy Atmosphere - Live Entertainment - Fabulous - Relaxing - Enjoyable - Food - Cocktails

Took my mom to get a quick small bite to eat with some live entertainment. There was able next to us that shortly after we arrived they were having a giant argument, took it to the lobby and came back eventually continue to argue the entire time. The server also was a little snappy or seemed off. We were going to order more in deserts but the atmosphere of our surrounding area was not ideal so we left.

The ambiance of one everyone should experience. The drinks were amazing. The service was great and my cousin said the food was delicious.

Here lies a mystery novel in a library full of short stories

Sing this in ya Tina Turner voice * Rollin, Rollin, Rollin into The Library Bar* lol. This place is a total music lover's paradise. Live music every night with amazing talents. I wasn't very hungry but I decided to try the crab cake & it was deliciously prepared. The chef was also kind enough to honor my request to make it a sandwich *shush & stop judging me*. Lol. The entire bar staff is phenomenal and friendly. They welcomed my crazy self with open arms. This is definitely a locals hang out & like a true social butterfly that I am, I made sure to make a few connections since I'm new to the city. I love the feel of the place. Very upscale yet not pretentious. This lounge is #BarbieApproved

gorgeous place to come back to over and over again!! elegant, subdued, and the musicians are always phenomenal. the cheapest thing on the menu is a $7 beer and all cocktails are $20 and STRONG. servers are lovely and kind, and cater to the older audience well. the only thing that would elevate this place more is a little stage lift (it can be hard to see the pianist) and coasters. a tasteful date, boss-impressing, or people watching spot. best for duos or a small group.

    Easter buffet - round one!

Excellent service and a cozy atmosphere. I have enjoyed two thanksgiving buffets. And easter buffet (yesterday) and a few happy hours/appies here. The food is outstanding and the Chef frequently walks the room to make sure that all guests are happy and satisfied. The Easter buffet was out of control delish - my favs (so many to choose from!)...the crab claws with house made roulade, the perfectly cooked prime rib with their 26-hour au jus, truffle mac and cheese, grilled asparagus, key lime pie, caviar deviled eggs, carrot cake...absolutely stunning! I had to take a nap after all of the deliciousness...

Came here to catch up with a few buddies thinking there was a happy hour. There is no happy hour anymore here. However, despite that i would come here again. They have great drinks and provide a nice relaxing ambiance for any type of event whether an outing with friends, date etc. the old fashioned is highly recommended and they take their time with it. I didn't order food but they do offer bar nuts to munch on while you enjoy your cocktails.

We came in near closing time, but Emilia provided us great service and stayed attentive even though they were clearly packed. We were seated at a table near the door, and unfortunately it had a vomit smell. Whatever it was, my friend could not stand it and had to get up and step away from the table. We first thought the culprit was the paper drink coasters, but then the staff removed the door mat near us later on, so maybe someone puked on it and the smell lingered, even after it was cleaned up. Clear Mizu ($16): This has Sakura vermouth and bitters, so we ordered it. It tasted like straight up gin and was not good. It was actually one of the rare times my husband could not finish his drink. Kyoto Sunset ($15): This one wasn't bad and tasted like honeydew. The ingredients include honeydew Calpico, so that makes sense. Johnny Walker Black ($16): This was our friend's drink, which I think was just coke and Johnny Walker. Nothing special about the taste either. Given the smell and so-so/terrible cocktails, we will not be coming back or taking our friends here.

The hotel property is like four legs under the table - a great location, a great hotel experience, a great restaurant experience, and a entertainment experience (The Mansion Bar). At least one leg has been kicked out, one is suffering. The Mansion Bar used to have a great recipe for success - proven by how busy and regular the customers were and loyal (or was), and the top tier talent that was routine for 10+ years. Me and my friends have a relationship with the long time staff as customers as well as the excellent music talent. The cause? Not precisely sure but I think it's new ownership, at the very least a new Food & Bev manager. I also know the staff is very upset about these changes and the relationships with the repeat music talent is now a mess. I wouldn't be surprise if the staff start leaving. I'm hoping whomever is making these decisions can revert back to what was working. Dallas has a lot of great venues that will fill this void.

At one point, our food was delivered while we were outside getting fresh air. The food was also disappointing. The scallops and chicken were extremely salty and lacked flavor, and the chicken was overcooked. When we brought it up, the server did little to address it. When we walked in, the hostesses greeted us and seated us at the table we had reserved in the Leopard Room. Initially, we were placed at a small half table along the wall. We asked if it was possible to move, and they happily accommodated us. That particular table felt a bit awkward for conversation since you can barely face the person across from you. It might work better for someone sitting alone and people watching rather than having a full conversation. Service throughout the night was great. The staff checked in regularly without being intrusive and made sure we always had what we needed. For drinks, I would say they were just okay. They were not bad, but they also were not particularly memorable. Given the speakeasy concept, I expected a bit more creativity in both flavor and presentation. We ordered the Melting Clock Elixir, Persistence of Berries, Cotton Candy Cloud, and the Surrealist 75. As the night went on, the space became much more crowded and louder once the DJ started playing. If you are hoping to have a relaxed conversation and catch up with friends, this might not be the best spot later in the evening. From what I saw, the Library Room seems to have a nicer atmosphere for that. The Leopard Room leans more toward a lounge or club-like environment as the night progresses.

The dirty fries, loaded with cheese, bacon, and peppers were really good, especially with ranch and ketchup . (I rarely post Yelp reviews so that's how bad it was) I ordered the steak frites medium-well (thinking it would probably come out well-done, as most non-steakhouses tend to do). After a long wait for our food (the restaurant didn't look that busy, but maybe a lot of to-go orders?) I received the pictured steak: I'm pretty sure I can still hear it mooing. How anyone could look at this and think this is medium-well is beyond me. I tried taking a bite, but it was so raw it was inedible to eat - I would've been chewing for ages. I brought this up to my waiter, who said he would take it back and speak to the kitchen. My group needed to leave for another event (didn't anticipate waiting nearly an hour for our food) so we simultaneously asked for our checks. The kicker? My waiter did not follow up with me on how raw the steak was and did not comp my meal/provide any kind of remedy. I wasn't looking for a free meal, but the lack of follow-through to remedy the situation was the icing on the cake (or insert some kind of raw steak pun). My cocktail (which all arrived AFTER our meals were delivered) was pretty good, thus the 2 stars. But I question why/how my steak was so raw despite me waiting 45-55 minutes for it. Overall, only come here for drinks - so long as you're okay with waiting forever & a day for them.
