My boyfriend and I decided to stop by Pour Girls on a Saturday around 6pm. When we walked in, it was pretty packed so we stood at the front, waiting for someone to greet us. After a couple minutes, no one greeted us so I had to literally find someone to seat us. After I walked over to get someone's attention, a server found us a seat and wiped down the table for us. We were given some time to look over the menu and we decided to start with drinks and appetizers. We ordered the Dolce Vita Margarita, a Whiskey Sour and the Tuna Bites, ordered medium. The drinks were okay and the Tuna Bites were actually pretty good, but unfortunately, some were cooked well done while others were slightly medium rare. For our entrees, we chose the Crab Cake Dinner with Girl Sprouts & Mashed Potatoes and the Rasta Pasta. The Rasta Pasta came out first and had great flavor but it was lacking that jerk seasoning taste that you would get from traditional "Rasta Pasta". My sides were then brought out and the Girl Sprouts were great but the Mashed Potatoes definitely needed some salt. I was then served a Crab Cake Sandwich, which I didn't order, so I had to wait another 10 mins for my Crab Cakes, which came out a little burnt. Overall, I wish I can say I had a better experience. We also had to wait quite a while for our server to bring over some waters. She was very nice but just kept forgetting. Came for brunch on a Monday. Crowd was small so that was nice and we decided to sit outside. Food was great! We had steak n eggs, biscuits n gravy, crab cake sandwich, bullethole breakfast plate, catfish and 2 mimosa flights. I highly recommend the crab cake sandwich! The fries with it were really good. It seemed it took a while for her to get just a couple of drinks to us and I ordered the specialty Valentines drink and the cup was not even full and I thought it would've been a little bit prettier from the description. Very good! My group and I (a party of 8) stumbled upon this restaurant the Friday before Christmas. We had intentions of dining in another spot, but it was a bit sketchy so we made a U-turn and walked out. Only a few steps away... Pour Girls! On the first night eating there in Hampton for a conference, I had the crab cake sandwich and fries. The crab cakes were extremely good with no filler, and the fries were seasoned perfectly. I ordered a lemon drop martini, and it was the worst lemon drop I've ever had. The second night I ate there, I had a Caesar salad with salmon, which was tasty, but the crab cakes remained the best. Stopped by PourGirls around 8pm on a Friday night. The bar was not busy, just a handful of people, including us, and there was one bartender on duty. The bartender made our drinks, then spent most of the time on the guest side of the bar engaged in a separate conversation, checking in only once after the drinks were set down. With so few patrons, the lack of engagement wasn't about volume, it was a choice. The service felt purely transactional. The drinks were decent, but we left early because the inattentiveness made it clear we weren't a priority. After reading other public reviews, this experience aligns with a broader pattern of inconsistent or inattentive service, even when the bar isn't busy. We might consider trying the food at a different time, but based on this visit, we wouldn't return for drinks. read more

We collectively ordered pancakes, catfish, eggs, and breakfast potatoes. Pancakes were ok. Hubby's were ok. Son's pancakes were a little burnt. Catfish was greasy but had good breading and flavor. Eggs weren't real eggs and were rubbery. Breakfast potatoes were the worst. They were cubed but not cooked all the way through. Heard of this place several years ago as a good brunch spot and finally made it there for dinner. It's right between Marker 20 and Brown Chicken Brown Cow, in that little dining block of E. Queens Way that also holds Venture and Fika Coffeehouse. They're open on Mondays, which is a plus. We had a party of 8 on a Monday night, which turned out to be a good night to go, as we were the only party there between 6 and 7. Service was great, very attentive and friendly. I was wowed by the food. On paper, it was pretty standard fare, but the execution was perfection. The only other place I've had fried broccoli is Kente's, and Pour Girls' is just as good. The wasabi complemented the blackened tuna sandwich wonderfully, the bun was soft, and the fries...they're like steak fries, but not mushy, just the right amount of crisp and well seasoned. I pretty much made my meal off of the fries and saved my sandwich for lunch the next day. There were two drinks that interested me. I tried the Orange Blossom because I love St. Elder. I was expecting a cutesy little wine glass, but I got a regular drink cup full. My cousin said the mango crush was good as well. Mom had the steak and cheese, which I expected to be just ok, but when I tasted just a small bite of the meat, it was way more tender and flavorful than I expected. 10's across the board. I've been wanting to try this place for a long time, as it's quite popular in the area for brunch. I never had the chance before because there was always a very long wait. However, this Sunday I finally got to experience the restaurant. I have no complaints: the food was good, the drinks were good, and the staff was attentive. I would definitely come back again. I also appreciate the variety of seating options--downstairs, upstairs, and outside. The location is great too, with always something going on in the area. The only downside is the parking, but that's to be expected if you're familiar with the area. However, there's a parking garage within walking distance. read more

My mom and I love downtown for dinner/drinks. We finally tried Pour Girls for the first time last Tuesday July 29. It was eh service. Didn't catch her name, blonde. Took awhile. Forgot our drink orders and tempura broccoli. It was not busy at all. Food was amazing though from tempura broccoli, tacos, bang bang shrimp steak bites, wings and tuna bites. We decided to do dinner last night for taco Tuesday before the special ended. Our server, Alonni W, was AMAZING. When we walked in she had every table inside, had all the parties outside running around like a chicken with her head cut off! I can't speak for the other girls in there who seemed to give her a hard time or just poked around with no tables.. no tables at all. I don't blame bartender as she had a full bar and looked very attentive to the bar goers. As a server of 10 years and now a cook of 5 years.. I'd never allow ONE server to pick up so much with no help! But HER attentiveness was spot on with us, the tables around us and the parties outside. She got us everything we needed from the extra sour creams to my insane amount of lemons! All in a timely manner. She had great banter with us and was very sweet. I surely hope she left last night the breadwinner as she deserved it. I am a big foodie. My mom enjoys when we get to try new places and if I really, really, really love it enough.. Brunch in the spring and summer is my favorite meal of the day. Brunch in my opinion is so unhurried, you get to take your time enjoying savory breakfast/lunch items, also lets not forget you get to drink mimosas! I can only speak for the lunch and brunch times, both are good however, I will say this is on my top 5 list in Hampton roads for brunch. The mimosas are good, lots of flavors to choose from during brunch and are priced at $3. They also have a mimosa tower that is an equivalent of 4 champagne bottles but you need to have 4 people in your party to get this since its so much alcohol. I have yet to get the tower, but am planning on rounding up some friends to do so :) The food is great as well. For lunch they have some great seafood options as well as inside and outside seating with big umbrellas to shade you from the hot sun. read more

When we were inside, we sat upstairs and once downstairs in different booths. Outside was DEFINITELY my favorite! The service here is great, and we have a large party when I've come. I went here for Sunday brunch with a group of Approx 11 people. They don't accept reservations and we really wanted to try this particular restaurant but was told there was an hour wait. So after an hour, we were sat upstairs and ordered drinks. I was excited to order the steak and eggs on the menu. I ordered my steak medium. When I received my order, it was completely raw in the inside. I let my waitress know and she did offer to fix it but by the time she came back to the table, I had already ate the eggs and grits. I left the raw steak. Finally, the owner came over and she also offered to fix the steak, but also our group was about to leave. The owner even agreed it was incorrect but instead she rather argue with me and say that "mistakes happen". I understand this but at this point our group was done and ready to go, I was done with the rest of my meal. So at this point, I just asked to have the steak taken off, she said no. Therefore I will never be returning or recommending to any of my friends. As far as the large party, none of us will be returning and will also leave a review. I wanted to go to a new (to me) place and I remember hearing some good things about Pour Girls. The times they are open on Yelp and Google were different - maybe they weren't updated? Basically, I thought they were going to be open an hour later than they were so we lucked out when we checked and they were open. No big deal that day, but definitely keep that in mind. I wasn't really interested in what was on the menu - nothing wrong with that, but I guess I wasn't really feeling any of it. I went with the Potato Skillet since you can't really go wrong with a skillet, right? My husband went with the Pour Chick sandwich. I think he really enjoyed his, and I'm glad. The special sauce they have really sold it for him. I think he requested some extra. So definitely try that. The skillet I had was decent. I felt like it was kind of dry and bland? I doused it in a bunch of hot sauce to make it bearable but it took so much of it that I feel like it wasn't supposed to be like that. It was okay though. Pour Girls and their sister company Fika Coffeehouse are two of the best businesses on Queens Way. I had a busy day yesterday trying to coordinate a downtown Hampton photoshoot and Pour Girls did a wonderful job helping out not one but two city departments for a city lunch and allowing us to use their outdoor patio area to stage some photos. The food was delicious and the service was superb. One of my friends from high school, Carolyn was the waitress and she rocked! If you're ever in Downtown Hampton, be sure to go see her at Pour Girls. I also really love that the owner is a Ukrainian businesswoman who has an amazing story of triumph. If you asked me about this place a year ago I would have easily said it was five stars. The quality has fallen quickly since then. The potatoes were basically hotel breakfast potatoes. The bacon was cold, and the eggs were mass produced and probably scooped out of a container. I don't think we will be going back.
