Wow! I took my bike…read moreto a shop in Portland before I moved away. They took a week to just look at it. Then washed it and added a part they charged 3x for, neither of which I requested. They said it had a list of items that needed fixed and would be a 7 week wait, $170 on top of the extra $50 they tried to charge for funsies, with a suggestion of $3-400 more to optionally replace the forks that "might've" not been working properly and weren't replaceable. Now I realize they were trying to push me buy a new bike. Plus they treated me like I ate babies. Brought it to Bicycle Station and the mechanic found everything in perfect working order. Tightened it up and got it ready for me to ride after being kicked around while moving. And charged me *nothing!* I was greeted with a big smile and treated with respect and given answers to all my questions. What a stark difference! This has been such a stress on my mind and now totally melted away. Fantastic! Thanks so much guys.

I took my bike into the Ski and Bike Kare shop to have them fix a rattling noise with hydraulic…read morebrakes (which has baffled other shops). The guys in the shop stopped the repair work they were doing to look at the issue and solved it in 5 minutes! No charge. There was also a wobble in the rear wheel so I left the bike for them to true the wheel They called me same day with the wheel fixed. Turned out to be the way the tire was seated (no charge). Then I went into the store to ask for help with bike fit. They provided a lot of good advice that was focused on my comfort and experience and then made one minor adjustment. No charge, no up selling. I've been riding bikes for 50 yrs+ and have been in many bike shops. What sets Ski and Bike Kare apart from other shops is they realize it's not just about the bike. It's more about my comfort and experience on the bike. My wife and I have been customers of Ski and Bike Kare since we first came to Steamboat last summer and that will continue. Suggestion if you need new boots: make an appointment at the downtown location for boot selection and fitting and then drop in at the on-mountain location mid ski day if your boots need an adjustment. The on-mountain location is first come first serve only. But it's super convenient right off the slopes.

I chose to try an e bike for the first time. My husband rented a manual street bike. It was an extremely hot day, but we had a good time. The bike store employee was extremely helpful. We were outfitted with our bikes in a short period of time. I was given instructions on how to use the e bike. Then we were off to explore. I am now a fan of e bikes! My aging knees are thanking me. Today, I had an amazing experience after frustratingly trying to fix what seemed like a simple issue on it's own but led to figuring out far more was wrong and thought the bike might be done with and repairs costing more than the bike was worth at this point. I couldn't have been more wrong. They fixed everything and even upgraded something and it only cost me 13 dollars. I was freaking out thinking my bike was finished and they made my day.
