This place is the best. It was like borrowing bikes from a friend. Sounds cheesy but it's true. Shaun was hella easy to deal with as far as pick up and drop off. He will also give you some fantastic tips on where to venture for some great views and backroads cars can't go. When dropping off the bikes our family rented I forgot the chargers. Told Shaun that I would need to come back with them. He told me "don't worry about it, I'll come get 'em at your front desk". Wow, wow, wow. This was our third time visiting Kauai and our first time renting e-bikes on the Island. Let me tell you, this was the best decision we made. We got an Uber to our Airbnb and I figured we needed some mode of transportation for the week so we decided to walk over to Pedego Poipu to get bikes. Not only did he arrive to greet us 10 minutes before the store closed, he showed up even after the emergency he had earlier in the day. We loved taking back roads on the bikes to see more of the Island. It was easy to find parking for the beach and anywhere else we wanted to go. Everyone in our group was so jealous we were exploring the island on bikes instead of cars. Shawn is the best and really went above and beyond for us. We will 100% be renting bikes from him every time we come to Kauai. Highly highly recommend, even if it's for one day! read more

I rented some E-bikes from here for a week during my vacation. They're a great way to get around the community, and they go up to 20mph which is great on the road. I paid $350 for two E-bikes for 6 days, which is a pretty great price for the time rented. The only downside to my experience is that I was overcharged by $400 when I was only supposed to be charge $150 after paying the majority in cash. This made it a little difficult for my vacation time, because that was most of my spending money for my trip. It was a bit difficult to get a hold of the owner Shawn for my refund until I physically showed up to the shop and had an employee call him. I did receive a full refund within 8 days of my issued refund. Overall, I highly recommend coming here on your vacation to get bike rental just bring cash! read more

There are people in this world that go out of there way to help complete strangers and then there is Sean. Immediately Sean made us feel like family, he helped us with not only bikes but several other activities around Poipu and welcomed us with open arms. Not many businesses like this anymore and it's that kind of thing we need in this world. Sean is a local who lives the lifestyle a lot of us dream of living and he is an AWESOME dude. He offered a lot of advice about where to go on our bikes (local hidden gems) and we were so taken back by his willingness to help out a couple newcomers to his side of the island. Usually, in these kinds of places, the locals hide these things from us "mainlanders" but not for us. I am not saying he will give up these spots for you but if you treat him with respect and kindness, he will do whatever he can to make sure you and your crew have an amazing time WHILE using his bikes. On the other hand, if you are snotty and mean, I could see him sending you on a 10 miles uphill bike ride . For us, when we are in Kauai, we will ONLY use Pedego for our bike rentals. I feel like I gained a friend and felt like I had known him for a very long time and if that is not hospitality, I don't know what is. His process is solid, he isn't trying to be the next Trek- he and his family are just trying to live the life we all wish we could. Sean thank you so much for everything. I wish I had rented from this place on day one! We rented a tandem Ebike for me and my girlfriend to cruise around the towns. It was amazing and a great way to get around and check out all the beaches and find the perfect place to swim and snorkel and tan. We were lucky enough to stumble upon this awesome bike shop on our walk to our condo! My family loves to ride bikes but electric bikes was a whole new ball game. I think we are hooked. What an amazing way to experience both Poipu and Koloa. We were a big group but Shawn was able to accommodate all of us and flexible with a changing schedule. Rented 4 electric bikes, the owner Sean was not in to help us when taking the bikes out his wife was there. She seemed very unsure of what she was renting out but we went ahead ended up all the way by the botanical gardens with a dead battery and another one with a flat tire. No response from anyone from the store. Two of our party went back on the bikes for the other 2 to stay back and the store is closed and not responding to both phone numbers.for over an hour. We intended to rent a normal bike for half a day. The only bikes they had aside from the electric bikes that actually had the ability to shift gears were two worn out mountain bikes. We weren't going far so we had the guy air the tires and took off. One of the bikes was okay, not in great shape but it worked. The other bike had essentially no front breaks and before we left I asked the guy running the shop to tighten it, but he said he didn't know how to adjust them. We rode maybe 2 miles from the shop before we started experiencing serious problems with one of the bikes. The gears would not shift without popping the chain off of the sprocket. I adjusted the chain several times to place it back in the appropriate position. However, the last time the chain popped off the plastic chain guard came off as well. After that we decided the bike was a hazard, I replaced the chain for the last time on the highest resistance, which is the only location it would sit without gumming up, and returned the bikes 2.5 hours early. When we got back to the shop the sign on the door said open, but the attendant had left. In his stead he put his number on the door saying he was just 5 min away. We called 3 times and he sent it to voicemail each time. We were hoping to tell them what was wrong with the bike and hopefully get a partial refund for the 2.5hr that we did not use due to bike malfunctions. We unfortunately were not able to get ahold of them. Bottom line, I would not rent normal bikes from this place. They are in rough shape, are very poorly maintained, and the staff is not knowledgable enough about proper bike maintenance to be helpful. read more

Amazing bike place! We rented the bikes for a day and a half. We were able to take the bikes back to our condo, so we could ride them the next day. Wonderful owner! We wanted the fat tire bike, but it wasn't available till the next day. But, the owner dropped off the fat tire bike at our condo the next morning! Very nice of him. The bikes were the most fun I have ever had on a bike! We did get a flat tire by the end of day two, but all we had to do was call the owner and he picked us and the bike up right away! If you are looking to rent electric or regular bikes for your Poipu vacation definitely visit Pedego, you can also call Shawn in advance of your trip to ask questions which is great. We rented regular beach cruisers which turned out to be quite the workout even in mostly flat Poipu, so be prepared! You might want to spend more and go electric for an easier ride, but if you are an active person the regular bikes work great. read more
