I have 3 children that go to Pediatric Partners. They decided to inactivate us due to not scheduling a wellness visit on time within a specific month. Because we didnt obey their rules, we can no longer go to their facility nor will they allow us to be new patients again. This doesnt make sense. This is not professional. This is not good customer service. If they treat the people that pay them like this, is this a resemblance of how they take care of our kids? read more

First, I love Dr. Ratliff, nothing negative to say about her. However, the office staff at this office are incompetent, rude, and very unhelpful. (With the exception of one gal, who admitted that others in the office screwed up on my account) I have had multiple account problems...I have two kids with different last names and you'd think it was the most complex thing they had ever dealt with. constant problems on their portal, running my outdated credit card (authorization from 2014!) when I provided new cards this year, and running my credit card for transactions above the threshold (Set by their policy) without my consent. Not to mention being billed for EVERY little nit picky thing (I don't have a copay) unfortunately, all of this has forced me to seek other care, which really is a shame. read more

I will start off by saying Dr. Carter is great. Very friendly & reassuring. He's taken care of my son and was there for when my daughter was born. However, the front desk. The nurse manager/office manager is a total well let's just say not very nice at all. I was 15 minutes late to our appointment (not due to my laziness or anything- just cause getting 2 babies under 16 months ready to go peacefully is hard & traffic is out of my control). Been extra stressed lately as it is so when told when I arrived that my daughter couldn't be seen-mind you she was 3 weeks late for her 2 month check up as it is- I was rightfully pissed. Didn't even try to work us back into the schedule or have us see a different provider! I was mad because of the stress to get there (live 25 minutes away) with 2 young babies, one who nurses & was already hungry when we got there. I got upset and let them know. They kicked us out of the office. Quite literally. No taking us aside to talk about it or try to make it right- nothing. read more

We started out with them and Dr. Blum. After he retired, the practice became very money oriented and really just a business. The doctors are good and give you their ear, but they have no sympathy for your particular financial situation and nickel and dime you to death ($8 for O2 sat which insurance doesn't cover!). Then when your insurance rejects one of your claims, they make you pay the full cost without even giving you the discount rate that the insurance company pays! read more

Pediatric Partners is the best pediatrician's office in the area. I can say this because we have had experience with a large numbers of pediatricians. My son was born with a laryngeal cleft and it took nearly 9 months to have it diagnosed until Dr. Mellick took a good hard look at him. She had him admitted to KU Med and came to the hospital herself to round on him and discuss his symptoms with the staff at KU Med. We had been to other hospitals 7-9 times with him being put under anesthesia six times before he was 1 year old. Dr. Mellick took complete charge of him and has been nothing short of a miracle pediatrician for him and my other two children. She knows their personalities, listens to them and we feel like we are her only patients when we are in one of her state of the art exam room. She isn't only a pediatrician to us but has provided a medical home to us. All of her staff are friendly, educated and eager to help. I can call at any time (night or day), and I will receive a return phone call promptly. The nurse practitioners are all top notch and I have no hesitation with anyone in the office treating my children like they were theirs. They have now opened a second office in Olathe and provide walk in services at both locations, even Saturday at the Overland Park office. We have saved so much money in not taking our children to the ER but instead have used their on-call, walk in and website to get answers to our questions regarding our children's health. If you are looking for a pediatrician's office that truly cares, knows your children and will follow them from infancy through adolescent, then you should look no further. Their phone number is so easy to remember as well (913.888.4567) and I have never not been able to schedule an appointment with a doctor or nurse practitioner within a few hours of me calling to get an appointment. I love that Dr. Mellick (and all of the staff) not only listen to me but also to what my children have to say. When trying to decide to send our hold my oldest to start school, Dr. Mellick gave us the best advice and my oldest is thriving. When my third child was born, she had similar (but not as severe) problems as my son and Dr. Mellick took charge and got my youngest scheduled with the ENT at Children's Mercy right away to get her milder laryngeal cleft fixed when she was only 8 weeks old. Dr. Mellick knows her stuff and I will always do what she tells me to do. I will never feel like I would need a second opinion because she truly knows what she is doing and she knows the needs of my children. It's a good sign when your children are not scared to go to a doctor's office and are not afraid to get a shot because they know that everything will be explained to them. I also love the fact that they have male and female doctors so my children can choose with whom they are more comfortable as they get older. I love this practice! Everyone is so great and kind. The location is wonderful and we've never had to wait long. We usually see Dr. Ratliff and she's amazing, but we've also seen some of the other docs, as well as nurse practitioners for sick visits. Everyone has been wonderful. They've all been very thorough and very patient with my kids. The front desk is efficient and friendly. I've never been billed for anything I shouldn't?? For those commenting that "this office used to be great but now money-focused" maybe that review should go back to your insurance companies instead. They are probably not reimbursing the clinic or docs for things they previously did. And someone still needs to pay the bill! If it's not your insurance or Medicaid or whatever, it's probably going to be billed to you. It's not the office's fault if something that's necessary or standard of care isn't getting covered by the crappy insurance companies. I'd rather have great care with physicians and NPs who are thorough and have amazing bedside manner, and this office meets those requirements for me. I'll definitely keep coming back. I know several families who also come here with lovely things to say. It's too bad those who have a problem are the only ones to take time to write a review. I don't usually write reviews (and I never have for a doctor's office) but I think some of the complaints on here are ridiculous. This clinic is great! read more

We moved in to this area and chose this practice due to close proximity but I noticed that the office staff is very rude and all they care is how to get money out of you. Their financial policies are very ridiculous and outrageous. After a few visits you get a feeling that they don't care about their patients and getting most amount of money out of you is their main priority. They want your credit card on file all the time and even if you go for a well care visit they want that. They charge you to sign a school forms. They will charge your credit card without ever sending you a bill. On my daughter's well care visit they didn't have a flu shot available. So I asked if I can bring her later to get the shot and the provider told me that I can bring her after setting up an appointment for a made up sickness and that is the only way I can get her a shot. So basically she told me to commit a fraud and she said that is the only way around it. I think it is totally unethical and a medical fraud. They run their business like a cheap airline. After about 5-6 visits in one year I have had enough. if your child is sick and you call them to get advice their response is horrible. As far as the doctors are concerned, I saw Dr. Ratliff and she is not the best I have seen. I have also seen a few others and they are fine but the office policies are just too much to deal with and I want the pediatrician who is more concerned about the kids. You visit the office and you immediately notice the check in counter has all the signs about how they will charge you ridiculously if anything with your insurance doesn't go smoothly. read more

As patients of Dr. Mellick we were always pleased with her care. However, we did not have good experiences with the rest of the staff. The P.A. was not empathetic towards me as a concerned mother, Dr. Ratliff used the term "pissed off" in front of my 3 1/2 year old child and the front office staff always seems to either be in a bad mood or too busy to smile and say "hello" when we walked in the door. I also never appreciated the email blasts that seemed to talk down to the clientele by asking people to "please stop calling the office" about this year's flu vaccine shortage. If you like constantly feeling like a terrible parent this is the place for you! Every appointment the doctors and nurses find something wrong with how your parenting. If you tell the billing department to hold off, you are trying to handle a discrepancy with your child's insurance company they are sure to make you feel like a low-life that doesn't pay their bills. Then, when you call to complain about being treated like a piece of poo over the phone due to your bill, don't expect them to care that you were disrespected. Did I mention you won't receive bills/notices in the mail, rather just expect a letter that your being sued for the amount owed to the doctors office, plus over $500 in attorney fees, on top of that the full amount gains 10% interest by the day! Lucky, my baby girl is now seeing a doctor that is far more educated and has had many years of experience! Dr. Davis makes me feel like I am a great parent! read more

These are horrible doctors. They are so much more concerned with making money than they are with the children they are supposed to cater to. Do NOT take your child there, they don't care. They will sue you if you don't pay your bill with a quickness. Believe me, these are not good doctors and they don't care. They spent much more of their time trying to convince me to turn my claim in to an insurance agency that wouldn't cover the care because they wanted the money. We have been going there for 10yrs. Dr. Mellick is really good as we switched to her (3 kids) when Dr, Blum retired however the office staff is unprofessional and down right rude at times which has been getting worse over the last 3-4 years. The care there is OK but there are too many choices of great care out there to have to deal with a rude up front office which is why we switched and the way they nickle and dime for everything!! After waiting for an hour and 15 minutes to be seen, I had the most unprofessional experience I have ever had at a doctors office. While the staff and nurses were kind and helpful the level of disrespect and inappropriate behavior from Dr. Stuppy I have never experienced in any other doctors office. I wanted her recommendations for vaccinations for my son and specifically asked for any handouts or a recommendation sheet. She then proceeded to try and convince me why my son should have all vaccinations up to date and follow the standard schedule. I expressed I was open to her recommendations but also that we may have differing opinions and that this was ok. Long story short she proceed to tell me I was not a Christian and that my beliefs and opinions were wrong. Telling her she was being very unprofessional and I simply wanted any handouts or sheets saying what he needed she only referred to her website. I ended up walking out with no materials or any further help. If you have any questions you want answered or questions about certain vaccines or the vaccine schedule recommendations, do not see her. Raising your voice, attacking someone's personal beliefs and telling someone they are flat out wrong is not a way to communicate and very unprofessional. read more
