We as a family love Dr. Staerz, we have been seeing her going on 7 years with our kids, but we absolutely despise the supporting staff at this office, everyone from the front desk, the techs, the nurses, the billing department are beyond rude. You walk into this place, and you are met with a scowl... no one says hello, no smiles, nothing....they just stare at you stone faced. I will never forget after having my daughter in the nicu for a week, my 1st visit to this office after being released, I was disgusted by the lack of empathy and kindness from every point person, that was 2 years ago, and I should have left then. I get anxious whenever I have to take my kids to an appointment and I alway leave semi pissed after interacting with these people. Update: to highlight the incompetence: it took 3 weeks for me to get a health appraisal form filled out for my sons school, messages, calls, emails....they literally could not get this SIMPLE AND ROUTINE form filled out for some reason. My son has asthma. It took them almost a month for a refill request for albuterol, a life saving drug. We ended up getting it filled at Children's Hospital.Choose another Office. read more

FRAUD! FRAUD! DO NOT COME HERE!!! They LOVE, and by they I mean this money hungry Doctor, to over charge your insurance and put in different codes that insurances DON'T cover making you pay out of pocket for a lot of BS! Then can't even explain the charges. Haha get it together and stop scamming people! I think before you bill someone for "nutrition advise" let me the patients mother decided whether I want to pay for this "talk" or not. I hate that Doctor's think they can steal from people who don't think they know their stuff, but "stating I'm concerned about my child's weight" to get money out of me is not okay! The Great: + We love Dr. Staerz, and since this was our first child she did so much to help us understand all of the new things taking place. :) The Average: o Not the most modern office, but it was clean and well lit. We've been with Dr.Staerz since the day our daughter was born and we love her! She's knowledgeable, attentive, thorough, and up on the latest research as well as having a great no nonsense attitude. The only issue we've encountered is that her appointments tend to run late but from what we've seen its because she's not willing to rush through an exam or push a sick child out the door to keep her schedule. We have never felt rushed. She's always been willing to patiently advise us on any issues related to our child whether it was regarding my lactation problem, allergies, colic, changing my child's diet as she aged, and even age appropriate ways to manage disciplinary issues which has been very helpful for two stressed out parents who had never held a newborn before bringing their own home from the hospital. As someone who works for a health insurance company and has a clear view of the patient load doctors have to carry to stay profitable, I really appreciate having a doctor who is willing to put patient care over a business model. We've seen Dr.England at Stapleton a few times and she's great too. read more

My kids have been patients of Dr. Staerz/Dr. Jen for almost 9 years and while I love the doctors, the office staff at Cherry Creek often act disinterested and are occassionally rude. In one instance, we came in for a routine physical, and arrived twenty minutes early to find the office locked for lunch break. The office remained locked until our scheduled appointment time, and then the receptionist refused to check us in for another fifteen minutes (she flippantly indicated that she needed time because she was just returning from lunch), making it a full hour past schedule before we were seen by the doctor. This seems dismissive of the time that we have to take off from school/work for appointments. Most alarming is how often I find myself following up on requests for paperwork. Just today, I've called twice regarding an urgent form that my toddler's daycare is requiring for attendance tomorrow and I still haven't received it. So I guess I'll take tomorrow off work until they find time to send it? I understand that good physicians like Dr. Staerz are in high demand, but if there are so many patients that existing kids aren't being accommodated, then perhaps adding administrative staff or decreasing case load is appropriate. read more

As an overly sensitive and crazy first time mom, Dr. Staerz is the perfect mix of concern and laid back to keep my husband and I sane. Our kiddo has struggled with a TON of protein intolerances and, although Dr. Staerz is not a GI doctor, she has seen enough patients and has enough experience to offer us fantastic guidance. She is ALWAYS reasonable, keeping the advice down to earth while putting our child's well being first and foremost. As another poster noted, she is often late. Once you realize she is often late BECAUSE she will not cut your appointment short if she hasn't thoroughly answered your concerns, it's easier to forgive her somewhat tardy schedule. She does not book clients fifteen minutes apart and then rush you out the door. She is thorough and will take all the time necessary to help you feel comfortable with your care! If this means she is occasionally 15 minutes late for our appointment, I'll gladly continue coming to Pediatrics! read more

We started coming to see Dr. Staerz at the birth of our daughter last year. I fell in love with Dr Staerz at our first visit when she spent time asking how I was doing emotionally with breastfeeding issues. She is a perfect blend of knowledge, care, humor, and no-nonsense German. She always answers my crazy first time mom questions/concerns completely and I never feel rushed in her office. I have recommended her personally to all my friends and they have all come back with rave reviews too. read more

I'm still a fan of Dr. Stearz after two full years and another kid added to the mix :-). What I really like, in addition to her fabulous diagnostic skill set and slowness to grab for the prescription pad, is her support of a delayed/incomplete vaccine schedule. For our family, it works best to delay immunizations since our kiddos are tall and very skinny and the weight safety isn't there until a few years later. Plus we prefer natural immunity to some (like chicken pox) and Dr. S is absolutely supportive. She is so well read she can "talk shop" with me about the pros and cons of every one of the immunizations and how to proceed cautiously (I'm a nurse practitioner) without any judgmental quips. She still runs late all the time but I just call ahead for an adjusted arrival time and don't worry about having to sit with cranky kids for prolonged periods. read more

We are sad to leave the practice after fifteen years and three kids. Dr. Staerz does have a good diagnostic skill set and is very thorough during visits. The Cherry Creek staff has been rude and unattentive for years. It has escalated to the point of interfering with Dr. Staerz's follow up with serious issues. Many important messages have not been communicated because the staff dropped the ball. read more

I LOVE Dr. Staerz. She has really helped with the several uncommon issues we've had with both our children. For one, we had been to 3 doctors before she made a suggestion that lead down the path of a diagnosis. Although I've yet to be seen on at my actual appointment time, I'm okay with that because I know she's giving her patients, (and their worried parents), as much time as they need. I've never felt rushed and none of my questions were dismissed or made me feel silly. After moving to Denver almost 3 years ago, finding a good Pediatrician had my stomach in knots. Dr Staerz is a fabulous pediatrician! We've seen her for over 10 years. Shes so smart and dedicated to her trade. Shes kept us out of the hospital on several occasions and always takes the time to explain any problem or issue. On the flip side, my only complaint is that she runs late. I'm going to take the advice of a previous yelper and call ahead to see how late shes running. Other than that im a huge fan of Dr Staerz! read more

My son was sick with a cough, running nose and fever for over 4 weeks. I went into the clinic 4 times in 4 weeks and they kept on telling me it was a virus. We ended up having to take him into Children's ER due to him passing out because he didn't have enough oxygen. We spent 3 nights and 4 days in the hospital. The doctor at Children's told me that this was preventable and was concerned with his care. With this information I decided to switch providers. I went in to the clinic and requested for my information be transferred. It has now almost been 2 weeks and they still have not sent it over to the new clinic. When I called the clinic to have them fax it over the girl at the front desk argued with me on when I came in to sign the forms. This place seems to be amazing on the service but if you need a proactive, professional doctor, MA's or front desk DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! They are nice people but they are completely incompetent and do not have your child's best interest at heart. read more
