We just recently purchased some land nearby and have been driving by this place. We decided to stop in this past weekend to check it out. It's a really great place inside. Don't judge it by the outside! We were seated quickly and ordered drinks. Chips and Salsa came out quickly also. The drinks were good and not watered down. I had a beef burrito and it was excellent. Best place to eat in town. Staff is always friendly and the service is great. Not many thing on the menu I would not order. My go too is the Shrimp Quesadilla with a side of rice. But IMO the best thing is the Burro De La Roquetta. A nice light burrito with the option of chicken or pork. I go with chicken and the flavor is incredible. Give it a try next time you are in. Stumbled across Pedro's returning from a funeral in North, SC (yep, there is such a town). Building isn't impressive, decor is pretty much what you'd expect in a small town. Service was fast, salsa & fresh chips were on the table right after we sat down. White zin for my wife, margarita for me was ample & as good as any I've had. We ordered the #64 Bamba Special. Generous portions, excellent, fresh ingredients. Heartily recommend stopping here if you're headed to Charleston. 15 minute detour via Sandy Run exit. read more

When ordering a chile relleno...the poblano should be STUFFED not CHOPPED into bits, then thrown In a pile of diarrhea. And when we asked "what is this", the waiter explained that it was how they make them in Mexico. Unbeknownst to him, my fiancee is Mexican. She called him out in spanish on his explanation. Then she was told it was just cheaper this way. The prices were waaay too much. The food was, as the waiter said, "cheap". I crossed the border weekly for work and as we all know--KeiKei B loves to eat! I've been living in Swansea for almost a year now and would, admittedly, turn my food snob nose up when I passed Pedro's. I knew that there was not a chance that Swansea SC would have authentic fare. I owe my fellow Yelpers an apology! Not only is the food authentic, it's fantastic. I had a freshly stuffed poblano pepper & wanted a second! And the beans were great, too. Full of lard, yes! Lol! Seriously though food was awesome. The one less star is for my queso being runny. Chips were homemade, thick like they're supposed to be. Chunky salsa is my favorita. So clean & service spot on. This little place doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food was really excellent. I had the Pollo Asado. The pico de gallo was great, spicier than I usually find in restaurants, and the portion was generous. The salsa was a bit chunky, which I enjoy, and the chips were good. Service was attentive and prompt. If it weren't a good 40-minute drive to this place, I would go again to try more items from the menu. read more

Pedros used to be the go to spot but the last couple of times I've been it hasn't been very satisfying. I ordered the veggie fajitas which is a personal favorite. When i got my food is was barely warm, the veggies were still halfway raw and crunchy, definitely not how its supposed to come. Best place to get a burrito from can't nobody tell me otherwise. They have the best burrito in the world called a California burrito and I always get mine "Texas Style" which is which is with shrimp, chicken, and steak. Great place, very popular with the locals. Not fancy, but it is clean and well maintained. This was my second time here, I think I ordered fajitas both times. Staff is friendly, they have very generous drinks. One of the people at our table had the medium margarita, which was large. I had the 32 oz. beer that came in a ice cold mug.
