My server, Marilyn took care of me. She was very hospitable and was a delight. I ordered tacos, enchiladas and tried their queso dip, with a side of Jamaica drink. After ordering I enjoyed some free chips n salsa (the best thing about Mexican restaurants!) The food did not take long to come out, and was hot and fresh! Everything thing tasted pretty good. My husband and I had a date night here yesterday. It began with our hostess seating us at a booth near the stage, where live music was playing. It wasn't a band though, just a dude singing covers, so it almost felt like karaoke night. If you're sound-sensitive, request a seat on the other side of the restaurant because it got quite loud. We waited about ten minutes at our table before our waitress realized that we were in her section. She was stressed and distant the whole time, though polite when she did check in on us. We ordered a queso and I was disappointed at how tiny of a bowl they served. We had to ration our queso! Red flag. Well, the rest of the food came out pretty quickly. I ordered the Pollo Loco and my husband got pork carnitas tacos. He said they were just aight. My food was interesting. The description on the menu says that it's a chicken dish topped with mushrooms, onions, and peppers. So when it came out, I was expecting mushrooms, onions, and bell peppers. It did have red and yellow bell peppers, but the mushrooms were so tiny that I didn't see them until I really looked. But here's where it got weird--they also included broccoli, zucchini, yellow squash, spinach, and carrots. Wtf? It was bizarre. Like they just needed to clean out the produce bin. We ordered and waited forever to get our water. The dip was not the best but it made us thirsty and no server came until the meal was served. This is an honest review of Pedro's Taco and Tequila Bar- with photos. I ordered the speedy Gonzales. Comes with a pulled beef quesadilla, an enchilada, and a Chile relenos. The whole plate was swimming in grease. The only thing edible was the quesadilla. That too was greasy, but edible. I did let our server know. She DID ask me if I wanted something else. I personally wasn't waiting or taking a chance on anything else. I did not yell, I did not get loud, I wasn't rude. I absolutely did not eat it.- I told her I wouldn't. Our server wasn't rude- not at all. She was completely inattentive and didn't really seem like she cared one way or the other. There are too many Mexican restaurants in this city to go back for awful food and mediocre ( at best) service. Maybe she was having a bad day.. I don't know. I hope it gets better for her. Met some friends the other night and we were pleased with everything. Our server was great. He was friendly and checked on us throughout our time there. He even snapped a few pix of us right before we left. The food was really good, really tasty and hot upon arrival. We each enjoyed our meals. I do find them a little pricey, but at least they didn't disappoint with the food. The restaurant was clean so that was a plus as well. This place is not adequate for live music. The high ceilings result in bad acoustics. People are not asked if they would like to sit near the band because seating assignments are designated by which waiter is next to have customers. This is a huge problem for customers and musicians. I know I just may have not found the perfect spot in Cali for Mexican food but I'm Slidell I hit the jackpot. Pedro's was amazing. From the customer service to the entertainment. We sat outside like the three amigos and enjoyed great margaritas, conversation and great food. The waitress was polite and took very good care of us. The food topped all other Mexican I've had this year and when I finally get back home I will be visiting here again. I had the nachos and it was huge serving enough for two easily. The absolute WORST restaurant in slidell. Red flags from start to finish. The server was slow (she was new and knew nothing, we gave her a pass). The drinks were TERRIBLE! The margaritas tasted like nasty sugar water, ZERO alcohol. The bartender needs to be fired immediately, she sucks. Several items like appetizers came after I the entree came. Never brought our wrong tacos back out and the food that came had no flavor & was cold. There's no excuse, the restaurant was dead on a Friday night. We told the manager everything and he refused (possibly a language barrier) to take off the untouched drink. We will never ever EVER step foot in this dump. The margaritas was great, now they're super sweet, and seem "watered down" Our Menus were greasy, which is gross, because... well COVID. I ordered the Nachos, was cold, and didn't seem as fresh. We were promptly seated at our table and the waitress came up and we placed Hour drink order and then I placed an order for guacamole upon receiving the drinks and the guacamole. I was very unimpressed with the guacamole. It seemed to be lacking flavor and consistency and then we made our dinner order. I ordered the steak taco Mexicano, my companion ordered a chicken taco Mexicano and my other companion ordered a steak nachos upon receipt of our items. My steak tacos are very good. My companion had the chicken tacos, complained that the chicken was very dry and unappealing, and my companion who ordered the steak nachos was unimpressed with the cheese as well as it being very sparsely put on the nachos as well as lack of tomato and other seasonings, but the service was good, but for the amount of money that we paid for this late lunch early dinner it was not value for our money read more

All staff wear masks, hand sanitizer is readily available. Restaurant appears clean and sanitary. Pedros has a large drink and food menu. As we sat down here came the free nachos and salsa. We ordered the cheese stuffed jalapeno s as an appetizer and the 30oz margarita to share which was very good. As main entree I picked the Burrito Loco with the cheese topping on the side and instead of the soup I ordered the refried beans. My partner decided on the chicken wings The appetizer was okay, served piping hot from the deep fryer and obviously flash frozen frozen and sold in bulk to restaurants. The Burrito loco plate presentation was very plain, a no frills burrito. There is 70% more chicken wrapped in it then steak or shrimp. The taste was bland, small amount of sour cream and guacamole inside the burrito and they forgot to serve refried beans as I requested. I'm not a fan of their cheese topping that I ordered on the side, it has a Velveeta cheese taste to it. My partners chicken wings were deep fried too long and when she requested a red sauce she had to remind the staff twice before getting it. 2 star rating for the quality of food being served. I came to this restaurant with a large party of 16 on a Thursday night with no other customers. We waited a long time for service, and finally a new waitress, Madison, arrived to take our orders. She explained that it took so long because "nobody wanted to wait on such a large party". Now was it the amount of people or was it because it was a lot of black people? Fairly new Mexican restaurant in Slidell! Passed by it on a number of occasions and finally decided to venture in. The restaurant is beautiful on the inside with Mexican flare. We started off with the complimentary chips and salsa. The chip were light and crispy (like I like) and the salsa was on point. I enjoyed my favorite Mexican dish, a ground beef chimichanga, and my mother had their "Taco Special" that resembled a taco salad, but on a grander scale. Both dishes exceeded our expectations. The chimi was fried to perfection, the portion was very generous, so I only finished one half and shared the other. I forced myself to try the "Taco Special". The taco bowl of the "Taco Special" was the lightest, fluffiest, yet crispy taco bowl I have ever experienced. The special would be good for a health conscious person. I will say that the steak in the special was very tender and juicy. I would be interested in trying some of their other dishes with steak. I would recommend giving them a try if you are in the area. Nice ambiance, but the food was lacking. I ordered a vegetarian dish (from the vegetarian section of the menu) to go from the bar, and the servers didn't seem to know what I was talking about. It was the One Bean Burrito, which was supposed to include a bean burrito, cheese enchilada, and rice. The sever taking the order had to come over to my phone to know what to order. It seemed to take forever to get my order. I had been driving across country and was starving, so I thought anything would taste good. I was wrong. The burrito was okay. I couldn't eat the cheese enchilada. Maybe it was the cheese they used, I'm not sure. But it was not good in my opinion. Chips came with my order, but I didn't try them. We have gotten food from them several times lately and there has always been a steady stream of customers while I have waited for my order. We got the Mesquite Grill Dinner for Two tonight - it was excellent and huge portions. More like a dinner for two twice.
