Heard offers short and longer nature trails with tons of areas to rest, shade, and signs. Our favorite parts this time were the dragons along the path. Kids from ages 2+ can have a fun time here. They've done a great job of developing the place where you can go and see what north Texas was in its unspoiled condition, as well as participating in organized activities. I know some may complain about the layout, but I liked it. I had a king standard, and I liked that the bed was situated so your headboard wasn't against an ajoining wall. I also liked the space for working and relaxing. Definitely had enough space to stretch out, work, and wind down. Only things I didn't care for were the cost of breakfast ($15 but only had what most hotels would have for a standard free breakfast) and no hot tub.

A game got stuck and we dropped the ball he immediately picked it up and took care of it without hesitation. He helped us multiple times throughout our visit and was incredibly friendly every single time. Our kids absolutely loved him. He was so kind and patient with them, and they really connected with him. At checkout, he continued to be super helpful and made everything smooth and easy. Huge thumbs up for the assist, Terry! Lisa also came by and was so sweet to our daughter for her birthday. That extra kindness really meant a lot to us. Overall, fantastic service and a memorable experience. We'll definitely be back!

I recommend going to hotels across the highway (Medical Drive) for the same prices and better accommodations. I have noticed that certain people are taking over the hotel business and trying to run them on a shoestring, so amenities such as maintenance and room cleaning suffer for the sake of profit. Speaking of room cleaning, I stayed for a week and noticed that while the bed was made up (except for one day?), the cleanliness of the room was not attended to. Go spend your money elsewhere!

I got a 50 second video of the phone ringing and the desk unmanned. The girl that greeted my was staying in the back not at the desk to greet customers and She didn't seem to have very good customer service skills. The thermostat in our room was just broken not it didn't work well was just off and the toilet ran most of the night when I told the morning girl she said ok thanks have a good day very quickly and didn't seem to care. I have had bad luck with hotels here lately and this one was added to the list :/
