If I could give this location 0 stars I would. This used to be my go to everyday location for coffee but ever since they got a new store manager and replaced a few employees this place has gone downhill. The store manager is legit the Rudest piece of shit I've ever encountered. My friends and I regularly meet here and we just can't go anymore cause of the horrible service. I asked an employee for a fresh cup of coffee and she gave me attitude and told me to deal with what they have. So I let it go cause I didn't want to argue but then the store manager approaches me and says " if you have a problem with our staff and our services don't come here anymore." Honestly I was baffled, I couldn't believe he told me not to go cause they didn't want to give me fresh coffee!!!! DON'T GO TO THIS LOCATION PEOPLE!! It's a waste of money and good energy. read more

This Peet's is about a 10-12 minute drive from my house, but I still choose to come here than the Starbucks that's a 5-min walk. Why? Friendly service, down-to-earth staff and just a general happy atmosphere! Everytime I've gone, I've tried something new based on suggestions offered by the baristas working there. I love love LOVE Peet's coffee. I'm pretty sad that there isn't one at every corner. Ever since moving back from NorCal, I've realized that many people call Starbucks Coffee good coffee. You silly, you have got to try Peets! For those of you guys who haven't been to Peet's, warning: their coffee is pretty strong. Their service here is great. The baristas are always friendly, they're also very knowledgable and very proud to represent quality coffee. The store is nicely kept and cleaned often. They have one restroom that is shared between sexes. Not that much seats indoor but they have a great outdoor seating area. Their coffee is good. Hands down. They brew it fresh every 15-30 minutes I believe? However long, its always nice to here, "Oh sorry your coffee is going to take a little bit longer than usual, we're starting a new brew for you" Thanks guys! Their espressos and Americano is really good, freshly pulled. I never gotten burnt coffee here. One of the many things I really like about Peet's is the respect they treat their full leaf tea. When I'm not in dire need of caffeine for my 129817 hour study session, I am a tea snob. I like my tea full leaf or bullets. Peet's treat tea right. The full leaf tea comes in a cute ceramic tea pot with a steeper and presented in a way that is deserving of simple, good taste. I recently quit drinking Diet Coke and needed to find a new source of caffeine. I've gone from being a guy that drinks a cup of coffee once every year or so to becoming a full blown coffee junkie/snob in the last few months. I wish there was a Peet's Coffee closer to me! I love this one on Foothill and would go here much more often if they were closer to my house or had a drive thru. I just don't like the coffee here -- personal preference, I guess, since everyone else seems to love it. But it tastes flat and watery to me. Like Waffle House coffee, but with more of an aftertaste. Worse Peets I have been too.. Guy in front of me orders 8 lattes. Without me saying anything the employee says "you're gonna have to wait awhile." They made me a latte instead of the mocha I ordered. Unfortunately I changed my mind about this place - I used to like it, when they had Baristas that knew what they were doing and cared. - The last 3 times I went the espresso was not good and when I asked if they adjusted the grinder that day they didn't even know what I meant. - Also I got annoyed with the fact that if you order a single shot, they use the double portafilter, and draw a double, but let half of the coffee run down the drain. We love Peet's. Despite having to drive over 2 miles each morning to get Mayin's daily coffee, we still do it. Our relationship with Peet's began back when we were in college. It's been over 10 years now, and the Peet's locations are just as awesome as ever. This particular location in Hasting Ranch has been the most volatile though. Before the new manager (well, it's been over a year already), we really hated this Peet's. The drinks were sloppy, and barista had bad attitudes. Recently though, things have been more up to the normal Peet's standard. One fair warning though, the cappuccino is made American style at Peet's, extra heavy by European standards. If you like your cappuccino dry, it's probably safer to ask for "bone dry" and the barista will scoop the foam rather than pour. Oh yeah, our favorite bean is Garuda. It rotates through the espresso bar couple times a week. There's complementary coffee for bean purchase and there's also free medium espresso bar drink for loading up $25 (despite the program having ended a long time ago). Peet's is not for everyone, but for those who are hooked, you're hooked for life. read more

Hot cocoa is a serious drug and Peets in Hastings Ranch delivers! The staff are warm and greet everyone as if they were inviting them to their home. The hot cocoa is very similar to Cafe Espresso in San Francisco where it is whipped which creates an airy consistency. You feel and taste the difference when you sip it. It is not heavy and chalky. The whipped cream is freshly whipped and is the perfect complement to the hot cocoa. Some other coffee houses' hot cocoa upset my stomach but Peet's doesn't. So what are you waiting for??? GO!!! p.s. Peet's is a wonderful coffee shop chain. I usually enjoy those very small chains with high, gourmet offerings and Peet's truly lives up to all of them including Coffee Klatch, Jones, Intelligentsia just to name a few. First and foremost, there is absolutely no pretentious atmosphere. I always get service with a smile here and every cashier and barista is willing to talk about the drinks, their ingredients,and their options while you order. They never put you down for asking a question or smirk at you for ordering what you want. I always see the baristas take their time on the drinks and I also see the same baristas even after a few months, so you know they are an asset to the company. The coffee itself is well balanced in flavor, nothing too bitter or overzealous and never charred or overly saturated like Starbuck's blends. The milk in lattes tastes fresh and I highly recommend the soy because here they use Pacific Soy Blenders which is quite amazing in lattes and other coffee drinks as it comes out with a smooth finish and light foam. More establishments need to catch onto that. The matcha latte is another favorite. I tasted the Mayan Mocha and I wish they would bring it back as I would like to order one all for myself. The coffee beans are always fresh, well balanced in flavor, and moderate in price compared to other comparable brands. The atmosphere is the only downside. It's always crowded when I visit and I can never find a place to sit. not Peet's fault more than just being where it is. Overall, Peet's is great. I wish there was one in my area. read more

My favorite coffee and tea. I do not live near Peets Coffee but I will drive by plenty of coffee shops to get to Peets. I am near a Bristols Farms market, and they do have a Peets stand so I sometimes stop through there. I'm more of a tea drinker and they make the best, fresh tea all day. It's not in a bottle but brewed and served over ice. They also have their summertime ice teas that's perfect on a hot day. It's such a treat to sip on my tea. YummE! read more

The only time I stop in is if I'm in the area, which is rare (try Ichima by the way. great sushi over by 300). Somehow, they remember me every time I come in by name. I've never been in where I was 'just a customer', we always talk and catch up. I love coming in to this store because I know that I will be taken care of. My drinks have always been really good as well. I had a question about their Black Currant tea (which gets really cloudy when iced) and the barista explained how this is normal, etc. I worked at Starbucks and I'm not sure I would have ever figured that out about most of our teas (don't ever put milk in your orange tea, by the way). Great place to study but I hate how you have to go back every couple hours to get a new internet code from the register. Many times the internet would just stop working before your permitted 2 hours and you would have to go and ask for another code. This is very inconvenient especially if you need to do work online. I have to agree with a previous review of this cafe....the term barista may have been coined by Starbucks, but the crew at Peets has definitely raised the bar a little higher. The folks who work this place definitely are a friendly bunch, and have the smarts on their coffee know-how....they kind of remind me of the kids down in the lower east side in my hometown of nyc. The coffee is a little on the pricier side, but the perks include free 2 hour wifi (ask the cashier for a 2-hour access code), free parking, and a relatively clean restroom (uber important). I'm not a big coffee drinker. I actually come here to meet with friends to discuss projects. The space is nice, there's Wi-Fi and there's ample seating indoors or outdoors. Staff is really nice and personable. However, I did order black coffee here one time during a meeting. I was tired. It was the best coffee I tasted. It wasn't burnt or too acidic. Peet's does milk foam like no one else. I should know because I worked there briefly before I went back to school. Peet's trains their employees to steam their milk a certain way. When done right, it looks like rich cream! That's a way to better enjoy your nonfat-whatever. Also, they don't resteam milk like at other places. They make just enough for the drinks ordered. The coffee here is delicious and fresh. It's full-strength, so some people aren't used to it at first try. The tea is really good, too. If you have time to sit there, get a pot of loose leaf tea. I personally like Jasmine Downy Pearls. It's a green tea lightly scented with jasmine. I like this location more than the Lake Ave. one because the service is faster. This is probably the coffee shop that I go to the most in my neck of the woods. Despite having 3 Starbucks within a 5 mile radius, I love coming to Peet's because they have a lot of seating area indoors and outdoors. The coffee here is better than Starbucks as well. Their gingerbread latte is the best and they top it off with just the right amount of steamed milk that is oh-so-fluffy. Their dark chocolate mocha freddo is one of my favorites. Usually, I find that the frapps at Starbucks tend to be a little on the sweet side. However, freddos from Peet's are not overly sweet and the original richness and flavor of the coffee is preserved. Of all the times that I've been here all of the staff are very friendly. I always look forward to coming here to have a nice chat with friends, while enjoying a delicious cup of coffee. read more

first, baristas are all home-runs. sometimes I think about asking them if they are looking for a second job because I would love to have people like them working for me!! second, the quality of the drinks are so good and authentic. I come here bc I'm a Peet's girl, and this is the better of the two Peet's in Pasadena for parking. Peet's on Lake has free street parking for 2 hours and validated for 1.5. This Peet's is in a strip mall, so you could technically stay here as long as you want. However, there are only 6 small circle tables and probably only 4-5 of those are near outlets. Two tables in the middle of the room don't have outlets either. The baristas in this store are nice. It also is a lot less busy/hectic/crazy in this store vs. Lake. If you haven't seen, there's a $1 check-in off your Vanilla Latte. Yum. read more

Starbucks is just such an a boring choice nowadays that Petes coffee serves as a complement to have in the area... After having Petes it became very clear - if you want to go with the hype and be part of the crowd, you should stick with Starbucks BUT if you want some good, strong coffee minus any side talk and kids crying while reaching for a frap, you go to Petes! I am an avid Iced Coffee drinker and what I like about Petes is that they don't have their iced coffee sitting there in a jug, but rather poor fresh hot coffee over ice every time, that's as good as it gets. read more

I can't say much about this chain since this is the only location of Peet's Coffee I've ever been to.. but I like it here. I would rank this right under Coffee Bean as my second favorite place. The staff is GREAT. I've always had a good time just ordering / taking recommendations from the people who work here. They're super friendly and they've always been able to make something to suit what I was craving at the time. Their Hibiscus iced tea is very good, it's not bitter or "old" tasting. Just fresh and light! I also love their Vanilla blended Freddo. Needing a coffee fix near Best Buy, I opted for Peet's and tried their new Rasberry Mocha drink. Delicious and had a nice balance of sweet with the usual chocolate/coffee taste from mocha. The lady in front of me was taking a-bit longer with her order (drinks+coffee beans) so the barista was nice enough to make my order and I could pay when it was eventually my turn with the cashier. There is a seperate order area if you just require beans and there was surprisingly a lot of orders on the particular day I went. One of my favorite coffee shops to frequent. They always have quality employees here with great attitudes. Lines are also not as ridiculous as Starbucks. Absolutely in love with their scones! My favorite drink to get is their hot vanilla latte. Like the fact that they are always consistent with my drink. Milk is perfectly steamed and they add the perfect balance of cream and vanilla syrup. They have seating indoor and outdoor if you want to stay and enjoy your beverage.  The parking situation can be pretty packed as it shares a parking lot with a market and a few other businesses. I come to this location almost every single day. I crave their Iced Coffees and I love their Vanilla Lattes. Is it just me or does it have a honey taste to it? Maybe it's the real cane sugar that another reviewer said that they use. Anyways, it's the best coffee hands down. Strangely enough, when I went to a few locations up in SF the coffee did not taste the same at all. Strange, but I do definitely recommend their drinks. I've tried a couple of bran muffins and scones... totally tasty and do not taste bland, especially for having bran in it. read more
