I used a different location (downtown Bellevue inside Capital One) and once again the service was excellent. Came way out to Redmond for an important work meeting and while it's not often I drink coffee or support chain businesses, this Peet's was really lovely. There was plenty of room for our meeting of four folks, we could chat and conduct the meeting without bothering other guests, the drop coffee was tasty and the free WIFI was like the cherry on top! I spotted some food available as well, stuff like pastries and sandwiches. Man, if they had macarons I'd have been all over it. If I'm back in the area again I'd be more than happy to arrange more meetings here. Glad they could accomodate a large (and loud) group in the middle of the day. read more

I came into this place for the first time a few days ago. I've just dropped off my girl's suv off at Les Schwab and wanted a place to chill for an hour until my girl could pick me up. I figure, hey I can warm up at Peet's and grab something to eat. Three folks behind the counter, 1 guy running the register and two girls waiting for drink orders. I'm behind two old ladies in line asking a whole bunch of questions about coffee. The barristas behind the counter continued to talk to each other, ignoring the fact that I exist. The two old ladies pay and move off to the side. I'm still standing in line, no one behind me, no one in front of me. The gentleman looks at me for a sec and goes behind the counter to stock some coffee and leaves the register. Okay? Um what? 2 minutes later one of the two girls behind the counter comes up and asks me if I've been helped yet. I'm standing there dumbfounded: 1. You haven't left the front counter so you obviously didn't see me getting helped, that or you just weren't paying attention 2. I'm standing in the line, in front of the register, staring at the menu So I order. Already pretty ticked off.....1 Large Soy Chai and a cookie. Not a hard order really..... I sit down, waiting patiently for my coffee....I hear my name a few minutes later and was about to take a sip before I heard...."Don't drink that!" as if there was poison in my coffee. The gentleman that made my coffee didn't use Soy when he made the drink. So I'm just pissed at this point. I'm sure the folks behind the counter picked up on it as they offered me a free drink card for my inconvenience. Blah.....I promptly pawned the card off to my girl saying, "Here - take this, I'm never going there again." Honestly - what has happened to customer service these days. I am not sure if this location actually has coffee. I asked for a cup of drip coffee and was told they have to make it fresh. I waited five minutes, then asked the barista if the coffee was ready, and he said he was brewing it now. I waited another twenty minutes. Came back to the counter and asked another barista if it was ready. He said there was no coffee ready but he would brew one for me. I walked out at that point. I don't understand why its so hard to just have coffee already prepared...I don't expect super fresh, I just expect it without a wait....this is a coffee store after all. And it would save everyone a lot of labor and time. As much as I hate the taste of starbucks coffee, at least they are efficient. I will not be coming back. read more

The day I moved to Seattle (from Chicago), I went to Peet's. The people working there were really nice, and even gave me suggestions about what to order, since it was my first time in the store. Today this place was off. Nice people but my ice americano was super bitter and had 3 pieces if ice floating in it. No bueno. More ice less water please! Their coffee is pretty great. I go there pretty often love the place. Everybody there is so nice as long as you don't go on a busy time the waiting time for your coffee is pretty short haven't tried any of their blended drinks but as soon as this weather warms up Im gonna have to try them out. We love Peet's coffee beans for espresso but this store is very inconsistent. I don't believe it's the employees who work there but instead I'm assuming that it's a management issue. The issue is that they are inconsistently open and they sometimes have their menu items and sometimes not. We stopped by there yesterday for coffee beans and a tea shaker. They told us that they were out of almost all of their beans, they were out of the ones that we wanted but they had yellow stickies saying out on almost all. Then they said that they couldn't make any shakers because they were out of those ingredients also. Their pastry case looked low also. This was early afternoon on a Monday! Really? When we asked the cashier what happened she said that it was many things. They were closed much longer than other shops during the recent months. They now seem like they are having problems ordering everything (not just one item or two) so I don't know what is going on. She told us to call ahead to see if they have coffee beans. As much as we like their beans we'll have to buy them in a regular grocery store because we might as well give this location a pass. It's too bad. read more

If I was rating the actual coffee itself- it'd be a five-star review. However, the inconsistency with what I am charged is truly frustrating to me. I always order the same thing: a medium, iced, white-chocolate americano. I have been charged anywhere from $3.75 to $6.08 for this drink. Now, anywhere else you order this drink from it costs about $3.75, which is what I was charged the first time. BUT $6.08??? For some water, espresso, and a tiny chocolate? I questioned the barista about it and he wouldn't budge even though he couldn't explain how he got to that price. I switched my drink to a medium, iced, white-chocolate mocha which was somehow cheaper? Makes no sense considering that is a milk based drink. I'll stick to drip and tea if I go here, and save the "fancy" drinks for a different coffee shop with consistency. read more

The long awaited Peet's coffee has finally opened near our neighborhood. I've frequented this chain several times. I will take a Peet's latte over Starbuck's any day. Lately, I have an obsession over their Madagascar Vanilla Freddo. The vanilla syrup is from Madagascar and is higher quality than the regular vanilla syrup (so they said). Needed to find an escape from this horrid heat. Tons of parking available around this coffee shop. Location was smaller than I hoped it would be-good thing I was able to get one of the tiny tables. If it wasn't so hot, outdoor seating would've been good. A/C was heavenly, so was the molasses ginger cookie. I loveeeee molasses cookies! The iced white chocolate mocha was a little too bitter for my taste. 2 free hours of wi-fi and you need to ask one of the baristas for an access code. read more

Came here to get some coffee for a long trip far away from good coffee locations. They were very nice, and spent about a half hour letting us try and sample a bunch of different coffees to figure out exactly what we needed. This is why every time I'm in Seattle I stock up on coffee here - the folks are great, very patient, very friendly. Ended up getting about 6 lbs of various coffees. read more

Oh Peets. You are two blocks from work, and I have only been in twice in over two years. The coffee is okay. The workers seem to really like each other and their work. I guess it must be the atmosphere. I sure don't want hang around here. There is no drive through. You have to park in a very busy lot and go inside get your beverage - and since there is nothing going on inside I just pass. You need to be a "destination" coffee shop if you need people to park and come inside. read more

This is a review on the coffee bar, not the bulk take home bags for home brewing. The coffee is high quality (skilled roasting, excellent shots), and the baristas know how to steam milk so it isn't burnt or bubbly. However! The baristas only know how to make exactly what is on the menu. Peet's has it's own thing going on, where the drinks are sized small, medium, and large. All the drinks are 2 shots. The small is equivalent to a tall or 12 oz, the medium a grande or 16 oz, and the large is a venti or 20 oz. If you try to order by the ounce or by conventional terms, they will correct you until you learn to order using their language. Every. Single. Time. This is especially annoying if, as in my case, your drink is a single shot 8 oz (short) latte. I go there every 3-4 weeks, have for years. Always get explained, well we don't do 8 oz/shorts here, we only have 12 oz cups. So then I explain, that's okay, just don't fill it all the way. Sometimes I try ordering a single shot small and ask for 1" of room. Seems simple, right? But seriously, no one here can make it!!! Usually receive a single shot small with 1/4" of room (basically a really weak 12 oz latte). If I ask for it to be remade, they will forget that it is supposed to be a single. So then I am stuck with a night of anxiety and insomnia unless I want to be that person that asks them to remake my coffee a third time. I can't decide if there is just really poor communication between the person taking the order and the person who makes the coffee, if they are trying to screen customers so that they only get repeats who want Peet's coffee made according to Peet's criteria, or if they are just poorly trained baristas who don't know how to make a drink that's a simple, standard order at every other coffee shop/stand. So unless you're really, really into exactly what Peet's does, it's probably better to skip this place and make the drive to Victor's or Soul Food to get artisan coffee that's skillfully roasted, has well balanced shots, and perfectly steamed milk. These days, I only stop here when I am desperate for a coffee and don't have time to go to the other side of town. But I am starting to wonder if it is even worth the hassle because I'm tired of dumping $4 on a very simple cup of coffee that no one here can get right. read more

Love it here! Hubby loves their iced lattes and I love their drip. They often have a barista serving samples. They're really knowledgeable and patient as you sample. Lots of people just hanging out, really a nice modern coffee shop feel. Also easy just to pop in and out of, as I sadly usually do. Food selections are decent...would love to see a good blueberry muffin or something to that equivalent. The beans are much better than sbux, despite it being at many easier locations. peets knows their coffee, great ambiance too! Always choose this when I'm in the area! Over the last few years, I had my Americano every Saturday. Today, they were busy as usual and slow responding to anything. They started something new a few months ago which fill the hot water in the cup when the order is placed. Since they are very slow, I get my Americano just warm which I hate. So, I always ask not full the water until the barrister is ready with the espresso just like Starbucks does. They usually comply but today the guy is making a fuss about. He started shacking his head on me and told its strange request. I told the strange is what you folks do and don't give a shit if he shackles his on me. I am customer and that how I want it. If you want to fill the cup with hot water at order you have to as fast as Starbucks in making it. I gave a look that one escalation from him and he will definitely lose control of the situation. He backed down and complied. This is my last cup of coffee. This is a stupid place with slow and rude kids serving at the counter. read more

I've been a fan of Peet's since I lived in Oakland/Berkeley, CA. I was happy to find them in Larry's Markets but go to Redmond now that Larry's is gone. I buy their ground coffee in the supermarkets but love to go to Peet's for the mochas with real, fresh whipped cream (the way mochas should be, none of that Reddi-Whip crap).
