    Mango Hojicha Latte "Very Popular"

It's always nice to find a good matcha place closer to the Eastside than always going to Seattle, and I'm glad to have finally tried The Screaming Parrots Cafe. Although the space is a bit small, it is decorated beautifully with parrot themed artwork. You can park in the garage behind the cafe and get it validated here. I ordered the Shakshuka Crepe and Mango Hojicha to eat and drink there. The Shakshuka Crepe was good but it was missing some of the herbs. It would've been nice if the batter was fully crepe instead of mostly egg too. The big wonder of going to Screaming Parrots was the Mango Hojicha. It was rich and sweet but not too sweet for my liking. They do the Hojicha well and hopefully the matcha. It is such a cute spot to either study or chill at although they say to stay at a limit of 90 minutes due to limited seating space.

We were in the area and decided to try this cafe. We just tried the Strawberry Banana Cream Souffle and it was alright. It is a bit expensive for what we got. Definitely no comparison to the one we had in Japan or Thailand. There was a bit of a wait and the place was pretty small. I don't get why they don't kick out the people working on their laptop, just taking up space for people who's waiting to eat. @Muath - Update: Thank you for your response. I understand that your soufflé pancakes are intentionally made lighter, but my review reflects my personal experience and expectations based on other Japanese soufflé pancakes I've tried. They were also light and fluffy, not egg yolk. I also appreciate the clarification regarding the 90-minute policy.

I was initially worried about paying $20 for 2 soufflé pancakes, but they were actually really really good and totally filling! I was left completely satisfied and they served a substantial portion that's worth the price Their matcha is actually also surprisingly good!! I came here for the pancakes but figured I'd get the matcha too, and I highly recommend their Strawberry Matcha! The matcha flavor is veryyyyyy smooth I'd actually return even just for the matcha!

What an adorable café right in the center of Redmond! There's ample street parking nearby which was surprisingly simple to find. Ambience is great -- though there's not that many tables, if you do manage a snag one, it's a great place to do some work or hang out with a friend. The desserts are on the sweeter side, namely the banana pudding, but flavor wise, I'm a big fan! The onigiri was great to cut all the sugar. I want to come back and try the drinks!

Vibe: they have a cozy inside - a great place to sit and yap. Their playlist was so chill and nice. The matcha was not my favorite but the hojicha was good! The containers were really cool! Service was self-service which was nice if you are just feeling less socialization that day!

Heard we finally had Japanese souffle pancakes on the east side, at Screaming Parrots Cafe so I had to check them out. Not sure why this place is called screaming. Parrots says there's no parrots inside but actually that's a good thing cuz parents can be pretty noisy. On to the souffle pancakes. I ordered the banana and strawberry one. I got here at about 6:00 p.m. and the place was fairly empty. I guess most folks are still at dinner. They were just finished making a new batch of the souffle batter and whipped cream as I arrived. The pancake shack was eyeing the 6 customers line and she made eight at a time anticipating the orders. Mine came out pretty quick. Very large size; you get two per order. Cover with lots of whipped cream and strawberries and bananas. This will basically be my dinner, LOL! So how do they taste? Well they were like a sponge cake, rather than a souffle. They did not have have the same lightness and jiggle, as the ones you would get from the Grams Cafe that you find in major cities across Asia. I also think that the dessert cafes in the San Gabriel valley in California make better ones. I also noticed on the menu that you can order them with either strawberry puree or mango puree. That may actually be better is then you can take the souffle pancake and swap it in the puree. Well if you never had these before I would come here and try them. As for myself, I'll wait until I return to California and have my favorite ones, down there.

I'm a super fan of Japanese souffle pancakes so when I saw that this cafe had them, I beelined over to try these! We came on a weekday morning, and made it there about 5 minutes before they officially opened. There was a pretty large line gathering already, but we were maybe about 5 parties from the front. So I would recommend getting there even earlier. The pancakes were legit! Yummy just like they were in Japan, but it does take a while to make these. So even though we were pretty far up in line, it was prob about 45 mins after we ordered before we got our pancakes. It was fine with us because I know they are still relatively new. It's just something to keep in mind! Oh and if you're a fan of strawberries and trying to decide on the strawberry or strawberry banana pancakes, get the strawberry because it comes with a lot of muddled strawberries/strawberry sauce at the bottom as you can see in my photo. The strawberry banana ones were more actual sliced strawberries and bananas, so it didn't have this amazing sauce to accompany your pancakes!

Cute little coffee shop with an amazing variety of drinks. Self order at the front. I got the hojicha banana bread pudding latte. All I can say it was one of the best quality hojicha I've ever tasted. The drink itself wasn't too sweet but the banana bread pudding.. that was exquisite. It had real bananas and it was perfectly sweet. It was a great combination with the hojicha! I will DEFINITELY come back and have that drink and maybe one of their desserts My roomie got the matcha Einspanner and it also tasted like great quality matcha. I enjoyed the fact that it wasn't too sweet or milky. You can truly taste the matcha. The service was great. Even though no one helped at the front to order, they made sure to hand your drink if you were dining in. They even offered us water with ice. The only thing is that the place is small and it gets pretty hot. Overall 8/10, had a great experience and some amazing tasting drinks!

had the matcha tiramisu which was noted to be very popular according to their menu. and yes, it was good. serving big and not to matcha'ey. I just wish they had more than one kiosk to place orders. probably come back to try their drinks next time.

Updating my review! I came here on a weekend, and it was so popular, there was a line out the door. You could tell they were busy but the staff were all working hard to get everyone's orders as quickly as possible, without compromising the quality of the beverages and food. I got the strawberry matcha and the crème brûlée crepe. The strawberry matcha was really good! One of the better ones I've had in a while. The fresh strawberry pieces balanced the strong matcha flavor pretty well. I would get this again! The crème brûlée was good but could've been better. The top was perfect and filled with strawberries and bananas wrapped in custard filling. But as you got mid way through the crepe it was dry, as the custard filling wasn't as spread out through the bottom. Overall good dessert and beverages!

Cute cafe by Redmond town center! Went around 3:10pm on a Sunday and there was already a big line out the door (they open at 3pm)- didn't realize they were so popular. The line went by quickly though as the service was fast. I tried their popular crème brûlée crepe- it was $15 but it was huge with a lot of custard filling, strawberries and bananas inside. I also got a matcha strawberry latte and it was a good balance of sweet and matcha bitter taste. Small cafe but has around 8 tables for dine in.

Delicious drinks. I had matcha and hojicha drinks in Japan so I can tell this shop provides good quality tea drinks. Their drinks also have little twist like adding strawberry puree or banana pudding that create happy moments to me. Their parrot logo is also very cute. I love that they open their shop until 11:00 pm which is great in this boring Redmond area. Definitely coming back.

The food is great, everything made fresh and fast service! We came last night with a huge group of middle school kids, the cafe was full!! But they worked quickly to prepare the orders. If we ordered on the phone online, the order got prepped very quickly, but many parents stood in line to order for them it took longer. I would recommend the restaurant puts clear signs and ask everyone to order online as they need all the staff to work in the kitchen, as the food does take time to prepare as everything is being made fresh. The kids enjoyed the food!

Do they stop serving souffle at some point? I see they are open until 11pm daily and was wondering if souffle is available in the late evening. Thanks!

Hello, this is Mike and yes we serve souffle late night or until we sell out. My recommendation is for you to call 1-2 hour before your arrival and they can make additional portions for you as Souffles are typically selling out quickly.…

Had a total party size of two. We even added our names, but when we got led to our seats, we were put at the barstools. There were plenty of other parties of two that arrived after us that got tables plus there were some empty tables for two that we saw as well. So we requested a table instead of the bar area, but the server told us the manager didn't want us sitting there. Didn't make much sense when there were empty tables. Maybe they had some reasoning or structure for weekend crowds they they had to follow, not sure, but we had to stay seated at the bar area. We ordered a Margherita pizza to split as well as a slice of carrot cake as I've heard a lot of good things about these items. The pizza had really fresh ingredients and the sauce and tomatoes were tasty, however the dough was incredibly salty and made it difficult to eat. This was my first time at Deru Market, but I assume it isn't always this salty and could have been a one-time thing. The slice of carrot cake was pretty expensive (around $14) but it's huge and good to split amongst 2-3 people. I liked the generous serving of nuts and shredded carrot inside. Cream cheese frosting was still a bit too sweet for me (think I prefer Deep Sea Sugar and Salt's to this) and I had to remove most of it, but the cake was overall pretty good though a little on the dry side. I get why this place is popular, but I don't think I had the best first time experience here. With the high number of positive reviews though, maybe they were just having a bad day since it was a Saturday and pretty crowded, so I'm hoping to come back again in the future, during like a seasonal special if they have any.

Both are well-seasoned with excellent flavor. We ordered the flank steak medium rare, but it was medium with no pink inside. The steak was tolerable, not as tender as it could have be. This dish was served with rice per the menu. After I saw another table has their kabab served with a bread, I asked the server. The flavor is light with minimum seasoning. I applied hot sauce liberally to the sandwich. Portion size is large. I ate only half. Fries, $6.99 - 3 Stars Menu: Golden and crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside Some pieces aren't crispy enough. Some pieces are too thick such that the inside has the potato gritty texture.
