Was craving some Vietnamese dessert so I dropped by to grab some smashed avocados .. the shop is very clean and welcoming. The employees were also very nice and worked very quick to get my order out. I ordered 4 pandan waffles and a smash avocado added durian. It took them literally under 10 minutes for my order. So quick and efficient. The smash avocado was delicious but next time I'm going to ask them to put my added durian on top instead of mixed in with everything lol it was delicious regardless. I'm so glad Bambu is in the area for my Vietnamese dessert cravings. Their che is always fresh. I ordered #2 without boba, with shaved ice on the side, as well as #4 for my husband. #2 comes with red beans and white beans that are cooked until they are soft, a large scoop of tảo paste, rainbow jelly, and mung bean. It tastes best with lots of ice! I had a couple of bites of the #4, which comes with grass jelly, pandan jelly, the red jelly/seeds, and mung bean. The egg coffee has an egg foam layer that is quite thick and doesn't have a fake egg taste unlike some other places. The coffee is also really strong. Despite all the ice melting, it was still strong the next day, such that I will have this for at least a second day! There are so many dessert options, and I remember the pandan waffle being pretty good. Service was very friendly. They have plenty of indoor seating, and I was so happy to see they are getting a lot of business. It's very clean. Overall, I highly recommend Bambu! read more

Came here as the Bambu on Stockton blvd was already closed. Saw that they have a special that the other place didn't have: mango halo halo. I decided to get their mango halo halo for $10 and their pandan waffle. I wouldn't really call this halo halo, it's just Vietnamese chè with mango ice cream. The waffle was just okay. You can only order with the cashier if you have cash, otherwise you have to order through the kiosk. Overall, I do prefer the Stockton location more as it's cheaper. read more

Has a variety of drinks including juices, milk teas, boba, and Vietnamese dessert drinks. What sets them apart from other tea shops are the Vietnamese dessert drinks (Che). Not as common as boba. All of their drinks were refreshing. My friends enjoyed their Che while I had the Lychee Refresher. Plenty of parking available. read more

Went with some friends for an afternoon snack on a sunny winter day. I had the #11 coconut combo and it is definitely coconut-ty. I enjoyed it. Very refreshing. I have also tried the #3 Awesome Trio which has coconut milk. It is a little heavier than the #11 and has beans. Both are really good. I've been coming here for their ube & mango halo halo for a very very long time at least twice a month, but I'm so disappointed & upset with my experience today. I stopped in around 3ish on a Saturday. They now want you to pay at the kiosk if you're paying via credit card & there is a service charge. You can pay cash at the register but I didn't have any cash on me. I placed my order and watched 3 customers that placed their order well after me quickly receive their orders while I continued to wait for my 2 drinks. Finally, after the 3rd customer who ordered after I did, i finally asked about my order. They were still working on it. I don't believe my order was any harder to make than the blended strawberry smoothie with boba that was ordered well after me. I must've waited almost 20mins for my order and it wasn't even busy. I should've asked sooner but I never had to ask from all my previous visits. When I finally received my order, I had to ask if the ube ice cream was in it because I could barely see the ice cream. I LOVE BAMBU and specifically ELK GROVE! Why you must wonder?? Because they have AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE ALL DAY EVERYDAY! I USED to go to the location closer to me in South Sac on Stockton Blvd but their customer service is TERRIBLE! Always unhappy miserable taking my orders but NOT AT ELK GROVE BAMBU! Everytime I walk in, I am acknowledged! Which is key in customer service! Very kind people working there! Very clean establishment as well! They have a point rewards too! It was back in 2023 when I last visited. Its time for a new visit. Ive ordered a Magonada Drink for my boyfriend and I had a strawberry smoothie with Boba. I know Ive enjoyed my drink and my boyfriend loved his. We even brought our banh mi's from Paris Baguette and the working didnt mind we ate it to pair it with our drinks. We were on our way to the airport and this was our last bite before heading out to the airport. It's a comfortable cafe. The place is clean and well maintained. The worker was extremely nice and it really made our day. It was nice of him to let us enjoy our meal. He was really nice. read more

This was my first time coming to this location on EG. I always go to the one on 65th. Ordered my usual dessert #10. I asked to substitute the coconut milk with coconut water because the coconut milk is too sweet for me. They wanted $1.00 extra for that! The one on 65th never charge me extra for the substitution of coconut milk! Luckily, I was in no mood to drive to the 65th location, so I ended up paying the extra $1.00! This was my first time going in. The cashier was pleasant, I ordered a taro milk tea with oat milk, and was told they were out of boba. I waited 30 min for my drink. There was a lot of people waiting as well. 30 min for one drink was very long, and once I got the drink it didn't taste right. It was sour tasting and I spent 7.25 cent with a 1 tip. The customers who ordered before me had a large order and they offered them two extra drinks for the wait, well that was someone else's order !! They had to run outside to grab the drinks back from them. I understand when things get busy, but I was very unhappy with the flavor of my drink, considering this being my first time. First time at this location. They have a bit more options than the Stockton Blvd location. I ordered #7 taro lover and a large taro coconut smoothie. The taro from the taro lover was a bit hard. Because it was a bit hard, it was hard to mix/blend together with the coconut milk with the spoon. Pandan jelly was a bit hard as well. Taro coconut smoothie was good. I am a customer of the Bambu in South Sacramento, so I already had expectations for my Vietnamese coffee here and premium Durian smoothie. Although service is faster than the other location, my coffee was too sweet. Salted caramel coffee at Sacramento location had salted foam and had a strong coffee taste, but this one had extra caramel drizzle and just salt in the coffee (lol). I wanted something to drink after eating brunch, so I stopped by here on the way home. I love chè because it is refreshing to drink and fun to eat. This is a small shop and was not busy in the afternoon. The employee that took our order patiently waited for us as we looked at their menu. The drinks were made quickly. I got the Bambu Favorite (#10). It was okay. I was excited to try it, but was kind of disappointed. Their standard sweetness level was not sweet at all and the coconut milk tasted watered down even though the ice did not melt yet. The jasmine milk tea was also made with their standard sweetness level, but it did not have a hint of sweetness as well. More than half the cup was ice. It tasted like very watered down tea with a splash of milk. This is my second time coming here in over a year. It is a fairly new location compared to the one on Stockton Blvd. The other location is better in my opinion because their coconut milk tastes stronger and it always has the perfect amount of sweetness. read more

My sister ordered delivery so not sure what the ambiance in store is like. She was craving halo halo and I must say, this halo halo is solid!! Don't forget to mix mix! Been here a handful of times now for me to leave a review. My family and I love coming here. Their customer service is always on par-friendly, welcoming, positive attitudes. Everything I've gotten so far on their dessert menu is good. Plenty of parking, space has tables for you to sit and enjoy. Restrooms are clean. My only complaint is their newly added snacks. We ordered the popcorn chicken combo and felt the portion did not match with the price. $13 for popcorn chicken and fries. I give it a 2/5. I think this is where they can improve since it's newly implemented. Nonetheless, I know they'll continue to improve and I hope they gain more business because I love coming here versus South Sac! read more

Tired of all the Boba places? Try BamBu! This place is located in the same plaza as the Chevron and a few other stores. Elk Grove has so many Boba type places. I remember trying the Bambu in Stockton Blvd way back in the day, so I'm glad that they opened up one close by. They have so many choices of drinks. It was so much that I actually forgot to take a picture of it. I'll be sure to take one of it next time I stop by haha. The lady working the front counter was very friendly and was able to give me some recommendations on drinks. Since it's been so long since I've had these types of drinks, I asked which one she would recommend. She recommended #10 Bambu Favorite. Well, after drinking it, I know why it would be their favorite haha. It was very good! Everything in it complemented well with each other. The texture was just right for the drink. It did fill me up, so it was like a little meal haha. There are a few tables inside, so it would be a good place to hang out with friends while drinking some awesome drinks. If you're tired of Boba, go check out Bambu. It's a nice drink change, and it's really good. I can't wait to go back. read more

The workers are nice and asked if I wanted the crushed ice on the sides since I ordered 7 drinks. They also have a loyalty rewards program you can join just by adding your phone number. I'm so grateful we have a Bambu here in Elk Grove! I've been coming here since their grand opening and the drinks and desserts (Che) has always been consistent and tasty. Customer service is always welcoming, the interior is modern with some flashy lights; not to mention they place is clean. Prices for everything is a bit high but if you tried their drinks and desserts, it's worth it! Bambu offers a reward point system so enter in those digits! Parking is a bit small given mini businesses that surrounds it. Overall, can't say enough about Bambu! Vietnamese desserts for the win!! XD read more

This Bambu is so nice! It's clean and big inside and has a lot of parking outside. The people working there are super welcoming and patient while you order, and very attentive to their customers. The #10 is my go to and it was delicious! The pandan waffle was also so yummy being soft and chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside (like a Belgian waffle). SO YUMMY! You can never go wrong with Bambu. Honestly, I wish there were more places that specializes in Che (Vietnamese dessert drinks). Luckily, the quality is consistent and always good! It's also not too sweet (which I prefer - I always get 75% sweet when ordering tea and boba). I got the #10 because I swear, red tapioca hits different. It gives extra crunch to the dessert and so fun to eat. Besides the food, the service was great. The girls working in front were insightful and very nice! Told me what was the most popular drink and I was not disappointed. As for the ambiance, it's your typical small viet shop - there's not much to it but I just got my drink to-go (I don't know if people typically stay in there). 10/10 would go again! read more

Come here pretty often because i like their drinks and want something thats different from boba lol. They have special drinks and also boba, smoothies and other stuff too, but i usually get one of their special drinks. I always get #10 which has red tapioca, pandan jelly, and grass jelly, and coconut milk. But sometimes i sub boba for the red tapioca because im not a huge fan of the crunch it has. Its 6.50 + tax which is pretty good because it has alot of toppings. The service here isnt the best lol, few times when i went i think they were training their new workers and like they were yelling and lecturing them non stop rip. But i guess it got better after awhile? And they arent like the most friendly but good enough because im just there for the drink. Overall solid place, they have a lot of variety on what to order which is cool, and its a good option for sweet drinks other than boba. read more

Service here needs a lot of work. The worker finished taking the person ahead of me order and disappeared. Then she came back after a few minutes and just stared at us and didn't say anything. She could've let us know she was ready to take our order instead of just staring at us until we're uncomfortable. We ordered 2 desserts and I noticed this location is more expensive and they tax. The south sac one doesn't do that based on the last time I went. The desserts are decent. My main issue is they aren't cold enough. They put a ball of crushed ice on top but even when it's mixed in with the drink it's not cold enough. So it makes me wonder if their other ingredients are even refrigerated.. The restaurant itself has ample seating and big tables, but it is usually pretty empty whenever I go. read more

I didnt get a receipt so I went up to ask the cashier to check if the promo applied and she said no claiming we had to specifically ask her to apply the 25% off promo and there's nothing she can do about it. Upon arrival: Pros: 1) restaurant looked clean when we walked in. Counters were clean. 2) large menu on wall. 3) the two guys helping us were very nice. 4) you can pick your sweetness/sugar level. 5) it didn't take long to get our drinks ready 6) pandan waffle was very good. Had a mochi consistency. Love it!!! Cons: 1) none! Conclusion: There's lots of drink options to pick from. Cute little restaurant. Servers were nice. Restaurant clean. Drinks good. Boba perfect! I need to share that as a reality to the owner and staff so they can make changes to the quality of their food -- otherwise, I don't know if this place will survive the competition. Also, I observed a staff member behind the counter blending a smoothie of some sort, tasting it with a spoon, and then putting back said spoon into the smoothie to stir before pouring it into a cup (and I saw the cup delivered to a party a few tables down from us). That probably isn't very hygienic and it's sad to see that's how things are handled behind the scenes here. I just happened to look over from our table and was pretty disgusted. Moving on, I hope these guys shape up because the quality and taste of food was actually bad. Still, this version is tasty with strong marination and slather of scallion/peanut oil. The deep frying creates a lot of crispy pieces for added texture to your spring roll. But warning.. if you order the small catfish, there isn't much meat and is mostly fried crispy parts, so I recommend the medium fish. Like all Vietnamese dishes, it comes with loads of fresh veggies and herbs. I also like that they provide the flattened vermicelli noodles (banh hoi) instead of rice noodles. They also give you a variety of sauces: tamarind fish sauce, regular fish sauce, and freshly chopped chilis to spice up as you'd like. I've also tried their pho here and it was decent but not memorable. The star here, of course, is the catfish spring rolls. They do have an extensive menu though, serving a variety of authentic Vietnamese dishes and well as vegetarian-friendly. They've gone thru tough times during the pandemic and I've seen vandalism and broken windows, but I'm glad they survived the pandemic, because this is the spot when it comes to Vietnamese catfish dishes.
