Came here as the Bambu on Stockton blvd was already closed. Saw that they have a special that the other place didn't have: mango halo halo. I decided to get their mango halo halo for $10 and their pandan waffle. I wouldn't really call this halo halo, it's just Vietnamese chè with mango ice cream. The waffle was just okay. You can only order with the cashier if you have cash, otherwise you have to order through the kiosk. Overall, I do prefer the Stockton location more as it's cheaper.

Has a variety of drinks including juices, milk teas, boba, and Vietnamese dessert drinks. What sets them apart from other tea shops are the Vietnamese dessert drinks (Che). Not as common as boba. All of their drinks were refreshing. My friends enjoyed their Che while I had the Lychee Refresher. Plenty of parking available.

Went with some friends for an afternoon snack on a sunny winter day. I had the #11 coconut combo and it is definitely coconut-ty. I enjoyed it. Very refreshing. I have also tried the #3 Awesome Trio which has coconut milk. It is a little heavier than the #11 and has beans. Both are really good. My friend had the lychee refresher and she liked the lighter drink.

I've been coming here for their ube & mango halo halo for a very very long time at least twice a month, but I'm so disappointed & upset with my experience today. I stopped in around 3ish on a Saturday. They now want you to pay at the kiosk if you're paying via credit card & there is a service charge. You can pay cash at the register but I didn't have any cash on me. I placed my order and watched 3 customers that placed their order well after me quickly receive their orders while I continued to wait for my 2 drinks. Finally, after the 3rd customer who ordered after I did, i finally asked about my order. They were still working on it. I don't believe my order was any harder to make than the blended strawberry smoothie with boba that was ordered well after me. I must've waited almost 20mins for my order and it wasn't even busy. I should've asked sooner but I never had to ask from all my previous visits. When I finally received my order, I had to ask if the ube ice cream was in it because I could barely see the ice cream. My scoop of ice cream was much much smaller than usual.

I LOVE BAMBU and specifically ELK GROVE! Why you must wonder?? Because they have AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE ALL DAY EVERYDAY! I USED to go to the location closer to me in South Sac on Stockton Blvd but their customer service is TERRIBLE! Always unhappy miserable taking my orders but NOT AT ELK GROVE BAMBU! Everytime I walk in, I am acknowledged! Which is key in customer service! Very kind people working there! Very clean establishment as well! They have a point rewards too! My go to is their chocolate smoothie!! Ohhhh it's so goood and you can adjust your sweetness levels! Also their Thai Tea and ice coffees are top tier!!

We came here in the afternoon. We love coming here. Brian & another lady worker suggested the coconut coffee Coconut Mocha blended with real coconut on top. Yum. Super good. We also got Vietnamese coffee & a Pandan waffle. Super tasty. Waffle has a crunchy texture on outside & chewy middle. Good snack!! We also had the Popcorn chicken & spicy fries with a free drink. Passion fruit refresher!!! We always enjoyed coming here!!! ;)

Came on a Friday night, fairly empty seating, ordered 3 drinks. It took them 30+ minutes to get us the order. They were sending orders out (that were 1-2 drinks) every 5-6 minutes. I'm not sure what is happening, but this is not normal.

I love ché and this is definitely my go to place. Staff is always friendly and helps answer any questions I have about the menu. It's a great place to hang out. I'm still trying to figure out which one is my favorite so I'll keep trying them all until I find out!

This was my first time going in. The cashier was pleasant, I ordered a taro milk tea with oat milk, and was told they were out of boba. I waited 30 min for my drink. There was a lot of people waiting as well. 30 min for one drink was very long, and once I got the drink it didn't taste right. It was sour tasting and I spent 7.25 cent with a 1 tip. The customers who ordered before me had a large order and they offered them two extra drinks for the wait, well that was someone else's order !! They had to run outside to grab the drinks back from them. I understand when things get busy, but I was very unhappy with the flavor of my drink, considering this being my first time. And the wait time was ridiculous.

Bambu is one of my favorite places for my Vietnamese dessert drink fixes! The taste and quality of ingredients are good every time! Service is quick and efficient and plenty of seating if you want to sit and enjoy your treats!

    #7 Taro Lover

First time at this location. They have a bit more options than the Stockton Blvd location. I ordered #7 taro lover and a large taro coconut smoothie. The taro from the taro lover was a bit hard. Because it was a bit hard, it was hard to mix/blend together with the coconut milk with the spoon. Pandan jelly was a bit hard as well. Taro coconut smoothie was good. Service was quick since it wasn't busy. Place was clean. There are tables and chairs available for customers.

I wanted something to drink after eating brunch, so I stopped by here on the way home. I love chè because it is refreshing to drink and fun to eat. This is a small shop and was not busy in the afternoon. The employee that took our order patiently waited for us as we looked at their menu. The drinks were made quickly. I got the Bambu Favorite (#10). It was okay. I was excited to try it, but was kind of disappointed. Their standard sweetness level was not sweet at all and the coconut milk tasted watered down even though the ice did not melt yet. The jasmine milk tea was also made with their standard sweetness level, but it did not have a hint of sweetness as well. More than half the cup was ice. It tasted like very watered down tea with a splash of milk. This is my second time coming here in over a year. It is a fairly new location compared to the one on Stockton Blvd. The other location is better in my opinion because their coconut milk tastes stronger and it always has the perfect amount of sweetness.

    Halo halo

My sister ordered delivery so not sure what the ambiance in store is like. She was craving halo halo and I must say, this halo halo is solid!! Don't forget to mix mix! Haha Good size, definitely shareable for two people, It's not too sweet and considering that it was outside for 10min and didn't melt very quickly I would say that the amount of ice they use was a perfect amount.

Always greeted at the door and pick your own seat, super easy! They take your drink order if you don't want water; note they have a boba/smoothie set-up too which my wife always grabs an avocado smoothie. Lately wife orders the fried crispy noodle combo (aka: bird's nest), and then a Phô bowl and of course A5: pork & shrimp spring roll. Servers check on you frequently for refills or anything you might need or just raise your hand and they'll come over. Pay at the desk. No frills no thrills and food is "Asian" comfort food especially when you don't want to cook.

The menu had a bit too much going on and in my opinion -- restaurants should have a speciality rather than offer so many items because taste and quality loses itself somewhere in the middle of 100 different menu options. I know my partner and I are pho snobs but what we had wasn't even pho. The broth was basically hot water with a tad of salt or chicken bouillon. There were no hints of star anise, cinnamon (often referred to as Saigon cinnamon), cloves, black cardamom, coriander seeds, and fennel seeds -- nada. And the noodles were way too overcooked making my dish so difficult to eat. I ordered pho and it looked like pho -- but it tasted nothing close to it. I need to share that as a reality to the owner and staff so they can make changes to the quality of their food -- otherwise, I don't know if this place will survive the competition. Also, I observed a staff member behind the counter blending a smoothie of some sort, tasting it with a spoon, and then putting back said spoon into the smoothie to stir before pouring it into a cup (and I saw the cup delivered to a party a few tables down from us). That probably isn't very hygienic and it's sad to see that's how things are handled behind the scenes here. I just happened to look over from our table and was pretty disgusted. Moving on, I hope these guys shape up because the quality and taste of food was actually bad. And, I can rarely say that about restaurants I patronize because I love supporting local small businesses. Best of luck to these guys.

The sauce in the skillet was not too heavy or sweet. It had a nice balanced flavor. All the different foods that came on the skillet were good. The meatball was a tad sweet for me. The baguette was warm and crispy. So good. Very good dish and one of the better ones I've had. Grilled rib eye rice combo: 5/5. I could be wrong, but I thought the beef had a slight lemongrass flavor that I love. The meat was tender. We got the garlic rice with it and it definitely elevates the flavors. Would recommend trying it with the garlic rice Egg rolls: 5/5. Came out nice and hot and crispy. The flavor is on the lighter side, but I thought it was flavorful enough. It also comes with fish sauce to dip in for more flavor and it was really good with that as well. Our boys love egg rolls and they approved. lol Kids noodle soup/pho: 4/5. Generous portion for the kids to share. They keep it simple for the kids. Just rice noodles and sliced beef. For 4 people, the medium size catfish was the perfect size! It came with vermicelli, assorted veggies, rice paper, and dipping sauce. We also ordered the crab fried rice, tofu clay pot, pork chops, and the rock and roll beef. I must say after finishing the spring rolls, everything else tasted mediocre. The fried rice didn't stand out and a bit too salty. The pork chops were a bit dry, the tofu clay pot was very flavorful but too salty as well. The beef was tender but the flavors was alright. Grilled Butterflied Catfish DIY Wraps (Spring Rolls) 4/5* Tay Giang's version is ok and can satisfy my cravings, but it is a copy-cat version of the original slow-baked catfish from Southern California. It seems the catfish here is deep-fried, I believe to cut down on the wait time, but I still prefer the original Vietnamese version where they can take up to 45 minutes to slow roast the catfish. Still, this version is tasty with strong marination and slather of scallion/peanut oil. The deep frying creates a lot of crispy pieces for added texture to your spring roll. But warning.. if you order the small catfish, there isn't much meat and is mostly fried crispy parts, so I recommend the medium fish. Like all Vietnamese dishes, it comes with loads of fresh veggies and herbs. I also like that they provide the flattened vermicelli noodles (banh hoi) instead of rice noodles. They also give you a variety of sauces: tamarind fish sauce, regular fish sauce, and freshly chopped chilis to spice up as you'd like. Authentic Catfish Claypot 5/5* Catfish stewed in a peppery carmelized sauce. They didn't have the usual boiled egg with it, but this dish was bursting in flavor. Sweet, salty, savory, and lots of black pepper with hints of spice from the rest chilis. Best eaten with rice to soak up all the sticky sauce and flavor. This dish sends me back to my childhood days. Bun Bo Hue 4/5* Flavorful and lots of meats and veggies. I'm not a spicy eater, so I thoroughly enjoyed this BBH. Most other places make it too spicy right off the bat, but here they let you add your own spice. The noodles are springy and broth is perfectly salted to enhance the beefy flavors. Banh Xeo 1/5* Don't get this. This was terrible. The batter was so thick and deep fried, inside had too much bean sprouts and onions and not enough pork or shrimp. I've never seen onions in a banh xeo before and it was weird. The batter was what really ruined everything. Banh Xeo is supposed to be thin and crispy, but this was thick and crunchy. I've also tried their pho here and it was decent but not memorable. The star here, of course, is the catfish spring rolls. They do have an extensive menu though, serving a variety of authentic Vietnamese dishes and well as vegetarian-friendly. They've gone thru tough times during the pandemic and I've seen vandalism and broken windows, but I'm glad they survived the pandemic, because this is the spot when it comes to Vietnamese catfish dishes. I'm hoping they stick around for many more years; we often frequent Tay Giang for dinner.

It's very spacious and full of color, with a beautiful barrier of plants that naturally guides you to where you begin the ordering process. The first thing that caught my eye was the stunning mural on the wall, paired with bright red-orange chairs that gave the restaurant so much personality. The ceiling, decorated with bamboo-style plates, added a unique touch, and the natural light pouring in made the whole place feel warm and inviting. Everything was laid out in a way that felt easy and straightforward. O - Ordering Experience The ordering process was smooth and efficient. You order and pay at the front, and once you're done, they direct you to your assigned seating. I really appreciated how organized everything was. Before we even sat down, all of the pho add-ons--sprouts, onions, mint, and lemons--were already waiting for us at the table, along with the drinks we had ordered. Within just a few minutes, our food arrived. The service was impressively fast, and everything came out steaming hot with a beautiful presentation. This is definitely not your average pho spot. O - Overall Taste & Quality We started with the beef short rib appetizer, and I honestly had to double-check that it was the appetizer because it far exceeded my expectations. The portion was generous and perfect for sharing. For the pho, the bowl was filled with fresh, flavorful broth, perfectly cooked noodles that were tender and not at all chewy, and an abundance of quality meats--not scraps. They definitely do not skimp on portions here. Even after sharing, there was still plenty left to take home. I left feeling completely satisfied and even happier knowing I truly got my money's worth. D - Delivery/Dining Experience This place absolutely exceeded my expectations and has quickly become one of my favorite pho restaurants. The atmosphere was clean, vibrant, and very pleasant. Everything felt thoughtfully organized from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. I especially liked the pay-upfront concept because it allows you to simply relax and enjoy your meal without having to flag someone down for the bill later. The entire dining experience felt smooth, peaceful, and enjoyable. #PhoLovers #WorthEveryBite #FreshAndFlavorful #GreatAtmosphere #FastService #FoodReview #LocalFavorite #PhoSpot
