Finally got a chance to try Faria Bakery and sample a couple of their pastries, and I'm a fan and so are my kids. I initially parked closer to their kitchen, not realizing there was a main building but they're right across from each other. They have a few self-ordering kiosks, which I guess they prefer customers to use. It kind of seemed like the staff member didn't want to take my order, even though it wasn't busy at all. Their bakery items and brunch menu are on the higher end price-wise, but I think that also aligns with the market and location, so it makes sense. Since it was my first time there, I only ordered a couple of items to try. FOOD REVIEW Morning Bun - 5/5: My kids loved this. It reminded me of Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, but in pastry form. I usually don't do this. My aim is help Faria improve their product, and keep on selling good stuff. Faria's traditional croissant in 2025 was top notch and comparable to croissants in Paris, it was THAT good. Better than even Bay Area croissants. It was fluffy, buttery and flakey. With the right amount of butter ratio. But something changed this year. Now it's flat, quite dry, w/ lowered butter ratio, and higher sugar content. Like Faria decided to cut corners? Sorry, if this is wrong. But it's now a MID croissant, when it was damn near perfect. I tried it a few times this year, just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. But obvious recipe change. What happened, FARIA?!?!?!?! When feedback was given under comments on their IG, they also blocked me. Weird. Why the defensiveness? Again this review is left w all due respect to what was a perfect croissant. No need to change a great product. read more

Stopped by this coffee and bakery spot in Sacramento and had such a great experience. The atmosphere is warm, clean, and really inviting . Perfect if you want to sit, relax, or catch up with someone. The coffee was smooth and well made, and the pastries tasted fresh and high quality. I also liked that they have a dog-friendly patio, which makes it even better if you want to bring your pup and enjoy some time outside. Love this bakery! Large space indoor and outdoor. I'm usually an iced coffee girly but the Black Sesame Kouign Amann Latte that only comes hot is to DIE FOR! It's amazing, deff a must try. It's so good I came back literally the next day to drink it again but this time in a mug. The lattes are so gorgeous and the ham and Swiss has Dijon in it, with soft inside and crispy outside. The people who work here are all so lovely and the space is inviting, and clean bathrooms. Plenty of parking to find along the streets and lots to look at in the area within walking distance. The ambiance the bread and the drinks were perfect. Came here spontaneously on thursday morning and it was not very busy. I got a mocha which was delicious. I also ordered a pork floss bun, ham and cheese croissant, and almond crossiant. Great neighborhood bakery that is constantly evolving. Well known for their sourdough-based breads and also their pastries. It seems every time I come here something new is being tried which is refreshing, and still delicious. I've come here for years and seen the different iterations (prior location, Solimar, new location, etc) and consider them a welcome small business in the Oak Park neighborhood. We came here twice over the last 2 weeks. we love their lattes and pastries. The place is spacious and has lots of tables. We ordered their Cherry mocha, black sesame latte, mocha, cortado, cookies, canelle, bun, smoked salmon with bread, cakes, etc. They are all delicious. I'm heartbroken to say this, but unless something changes I won't be returning to Faria. We have loved Faria, the quality was incredible and the prices we reasonable, so we went almost every week when we moved to Oak Park a few years ago. As time went by they increase the price but the quality was comparable so we continued to go, albeit less frequently, because we recognized that prices are increasing on everything. Unfortunately within the last year the quality has been slipping as well which was frustrating, but I figured maybe it was growing pains since they moved into the lovely and spacious new location, but today was our final straw. We ordered take out when I opened the box I was really disappointed and I hadn't ordered take out there's no way I would have accepted the product, as just from the size alone it wasn't worth the cost. The ham and swiss croissant which costs $10.25 has been reduced to a mere 2 inches wide and the pain au chocolat which costs $6 has been reduced by at least an inch as well. We would have gone in to ask for a return or exchange but they are adamant on the website that they don't accept returns so we totally lacked confidence that they would make it right. We decided to eat the croissants we purchased and were disappointed to notice that the quality has fallen even more. What used to be an incredible croissant is now hardly distinguishable from one you'd get from a coffee shop. If you get food from Faria, at least go in person so you can see if what you're getting is worth the cost. read more

I can see the love of bread here. Their ultimate deliciousness of their baked goodness comes through once you sink your teeth into their almond croissant, peach & lavender croissant cup, canele, sugary morning bun...awww do I need to go on? It was our very first time visiting this bakery & most likely not our the last. My wife was chitchatting with the lady in front of her in line curious as to what she was going to order? Come to find out she convinced my wife to buy that peach & lavender croissant cup which was the supreme item that day in the bakery case! They did have savory baked items too plus the morning bun which she have had at Camellia coffee. Now that sugary bun was way too sweet for her & hurt her teeth which was the original reason why we hadn't visited here earlier. She didn't have that issue at all with the other pastries. Go figure. We now understand the long lines here waiting to purchase those most tasty treats. Our iced coffee & iced tea were just average & nothing special but that would not deter us for not returning to the storefront again. Service & ambiance was good. Parking could be a challenge. They did have little outdoor patio seating as well as little indoor seating inside. Their storefront is skewed inside so it makes for awkward seating. But you can always take your goodies to go. Our disappointment was we just didn't buy enough! Ok that peach & lavender croissant cup is calling us!!! It was such a pleasant surprise unlike something we never had before. A must repeat. Visited their popup at the midtown farmers market. Always heard of them and wanted to try. I tried the morning bun and black sesame kouign amann and the morning bun. Total was 12$. Bakeries are lwk expensive sadly, but i would buy it again. The kouignn amann was soo good, not too much black sesame flavor but it was buttery and sweet and still very crisp after a couple hours i wish i bought more lols. I've had Faria Bakery pastries in the past but this was our first time dining in at their bigger location next door to the original one! It's such a great space and they have a nice big patio that I hope to enjoy once the weather warms up again. They have such a yummy brunch menu! We came for the McEgg sandwich but sadly it wasn't available so we had to settle on the miso toast. The jam was good but just wasn't much of it! I also tried out the matcha chia pudding, which was tasty but the passionfruit was very overpowering, and you couldn't taste the matcha unless you ate the side without passionfruit. The highlight was the morning bun, so fresh and chewy in the middle! Even though the food wasn't exactly ideal, we really enjoyed our drinks! The tiramisu latte was exactly that - creamy tiramisu on top of smooth coffee. I really liked my pumpkin spice matcha too! It was really enjoyable as a hot version, and all the spices come through. Available at the Saturday Midtown Farmers Market. Still very busy especially on the weekends, so expect a wait. So glad they took over the pizza spot next door and is now at a larger location. Which means more seating indoors and new patio seating is available that is dog friendly. I've frequent this place for breakfast and just to pick up bread too. Some pastries are a hit or miss but when it's a hit, it is perfection. I always love the eclair looking ones but haven't seen them in awhile. Hoping they will bring it back in 2026. I also really like the bread. I get the Pain the Me (regular loaf bread) a lot and I freeze half of it for the following week. Makes great avocado toasts at home. I'm not crazy about their cafe drinks or the egg sandwich though. The egg sandwich is surprisingly too sweet for my taste but has a nice looking egg. read more

What a cute small cafe!! I love the overall vibe of this place and how much natural light this place gets with the large glass windows. I've always heard about this place, but I stumbled into it while I was running some quick errands in the middle of the afternoon. With that being said, there wasn't much selection of the pastries left, but nonetheless the inside of this place smelled so good. I ended up getting a matcha latte made with oat milk + vanilla (my go-to matcha order) and it was good! I wouldn't get it again, but I would love to come back and try their coffee and pastries. I fell head over heels for their morning bun early last summer at the Sacramento Saturday farmers market. This was my first stop as soon as the market opens. The bun is flaky, moist and not too sweet with just the right amount of cinnamon and sugar- yummy good. I've since tried the almond croissant which is equally delicious. Faria Bakery is such a gem in Sacramento! I picked up their sourdough bread, chocolate croissant, almond croissant, and morning bun--and honestly, every single item was delicious. The sourdough was perfect: soft and pillowy in the middle with that rustic, crunchy crust you dream about. The chocolate croissant was flaky and had just the right amount of chocolate inside. Faria Bakery bakes the best baguette in the Sacramento region. Their recipe yields a delicious, wet, slightly sour (but not in an unsavory way) baguette that is good for at least three days, but it rarely, if ever, lasts three days because once you start you can's stop. It's the perfect canvas for either a savory or sweet sandwich. When it's freshly baked it even has an attractive crunch that makes it difficult to carry out without breaking a piece off. A piece of this baguette with a little butter and jam puts me in a better mood. I can't say enough good things about this baguette. Faria experiments with different pastries and they even have a breakfast sandwich. Their basque cheesecake is also a wonderful weekend treat, but their baguette is just an absolute standout. read more

It is a solid pick. Maple Persimmon danish - one of the favorite - honey-like sweetness and fragrant danish. Kouign Amann - this is the first time I had one where the sugar is seasoned with salt. The new Faria location is darling! A lot more space means it's more quiet and a perfect place to tuck in and work. The ham & cheese croissant I got was the best one I've ever had in my life and I will dream about her in between visits. I also got the dark cherry mocha that's on the seasonal coffee menu which was so so good. The ham and cheese croissant was the best I've ever had. It was very crisp on the outside with hints of sugar, salt and tarragon. The interior was chewy and delicious. I also loved their danish. It was moist, not too sweet and the filling was irresistible. In my option, their almond croissant is too baked and didn't taste like almonds at all. The canele was also too sweet to enjoy. The new space has more seating and a nice outdoor area that feels inviting. I tried the morning bun, almond croissant, and a regular latte. The morning bun was delicious and fresh, but the almond croissant was too sweet for my taste. It could use less filling in my opinion. If you like very sweet pastries, you might love it, but it gave me a sugar crash later. The outer is perfectly crispy and soft, though. Prices lean on the higher side, and service was just okay.
