We went to Pei Wei tonight (Monday) at about 7:30pm. We will not return--3 time and 3rd strike out. Every night we've been there in the last year they are out of something--tonight's outage was shrimp and white rice. The restaurant only had about 5 tables with people seated. When we arrived. All the other tables were dirty with dishes and trash except for one. The service was terrible--one very slack worker attempted to take orders. Another just walked around with her cell phone--while additional folks piled in and couldn't even sit at the filthy tables as they hadn't been cleared. Our 3 dishes and a sushi appetizer were delivered separately over 5 minutes--even though they were all ready at the same time--we could see them sitting on the bar. Pros: Relatively clean restaurant, nice Chinese-y decor with faux black lacqueur chairs, red wall paint open air kitchen. The kids' chicken lo-mein handily satisfied my seven-year old daughter. We love Pei Wei for lunches. For takeout or dine-in it is a great alternative to your regular chinese place. An off-shoot of P.F. Changs, Pei Wei offers similar dishes at even better prices. We like to think of it as P.F. Changs version of fast food. The service has always been great and even though we usually do takeout we are still greeted and offered the same great customer service as those dining in. The meals are big enough to share or split between two meals so even if the prices initially seem a bit much, it's well worth it. read more

I've been to this Pei Wei a number of times, normally it's decent. However, I just ordered online and picked up my normal order (Pei Wei Spicy Chicken..now called Pei Wei Original) and am VERY disappointed. I did not get ONE solid piece of chicken breast. Almost half of the "chicken" contains no chicken at all , and is just the coating, and the other half is clearly leftover pieces from the bottom of the barrel. The thickest piece is no more than 1/8 of an inch. I will literally be throwing my meal out :( read more

You would think that a Dulles location Pei Wei would not have a lot of issues because they would get a lot of customers, but that doesn't seem to be what is happening. Let's say that first off on a Friday night, there were only four tables being used (including my table). The employees could care less about working here and were not the nicest to the customers. Everyone's food was mediocre, but I can describe mine with a little more detail. I ordered the regular Mongolian Beef. When the meal arrived I noticed that it is much smaller than it should be, especially when compared to other locations. The beef was cold and the sauce was not thick at all. I even found a sugar snap pea pod in my meal, which made me question how organized/clean the kitchen was. The rice was underdone and crunchy. I'm amazed I didn't take it back! Basically all of the counter lacked straws, utensils, and cleanliness. I tried to tell employees of the issues, but they did nothing about it. If you are in this shopping center, I would stay clear of this Pei Wei, because they do not have their act together! read more

Went in at 11 o'clock on Friday. The cash registers were not working. Waited 20 minutes for the manager to finally come out and try to use the old fashion credit card slide machines. He couldn't figure that out so they wrote your credit card number down on the paper. Took 35 minutes to order food and pay for it. Went to sit down and not one table was clean. I think the managers and the cashiers thought they had to be there for eight hours so they didn't care if the customers waited. Will never go back here. After I left I went to another store and tried to use my credit card and by trying to slide it through the machine he damaged it and the chip would not work. read more

Thank you, Pei Wei, for providing corporate "Asian" food that spits on my culture as well as every Asian culture that you "represent". The best way to describe this place is as a crappy Asian only Noodles and Company. We had the Vietnamese chicken salad rolls, Spicy Korean beef, and the Thai Coconut Curry. The Vietnamese chicken salad rolls tasted pretty good, but they sure as hell weren't Vietnamese, nor did they resemble anything that I've ever seen in my life. It came with two dipping sauces (a Thai chili sauce and a peanut sauce.) I'm pretty sure the spicy Korean beef (Lester K's self-anointed nickname) was not Korean. Whatever the country of origin, it was salty as hell. The beef may have been cured in salt, the vegetables soaked in salt water, with a salt based sauce. To top it off, the server may have even given it a few sprinkles of salt just to make sure there was enough. The sesame seeds on top may have just been salt crystals shaved to look like seeds. The only thing missing was the plate not being rimmed with salt. The fried rice that came with this dish was decent though and was easily the best part of that dish. The Thai Coconut curry with chicken was at least edible. Granted, what was I thinking ordering Thai food at PF Chang's mutant sibling? Nowhere near the quality of curry you can expect at even the worst Thai restaurants. If I ever was forced to come back, I'd probably try one of the noodle dishes. Service was good and the staff were friendly enough. Prices were what you would expect at a PF Chang/ Noodles and Company love child i.e. they aren't horrible. The decor is that of the aforementioned restaurants. At this particular location, my brother and I may have been the only Asians in the restaurant (employees included). With Wegmans just across the way, I don't think there's a reason to come back. read more

great take-out/dine-in place if you dont have time, patience or money for P.F. Chang's. i love that their menu is a condensed version of P.F. Chang's because the lettuce wraps are MY FAVORITE. it's a great alternative to any chinese sit-down restaurant. inside is a bit small but there is outdoor seating. i wouldn't go here with a big group (unless its for lunch during work or something). it can get pricey but thats only because we always order a lot of food to split/share and keep for the munchies :). read more

I'm kind of surprised by some of the lower reviews, and I wonder if it's a question of expectations. It's an order first then you're served at the table type of place, not to be compared with a sit-down, may I spread your napkin in your lap sir venue. It's not gourmet Asian food that you pay $30 per entree for, it's good solid tasty food for less than $10 that's prepared quickly and well. My experiences have all been positive and I always look forward to going again. Soups are tasty, noodle and rice dishes well prepared and large portioned, and I even enjoy the minced appetizers in lettuce leaves. Good place, always enjoyed! read more

I love this place. True I haven't tried everything on the menu but I could eat their Dan Dan Noodles everyday. I wish their entrees cost a dollar less but it doesn't keep me from having lunch here. Yes like everyone said it's a fast food type place trying to be fancy but that's good, it's like a modern Chinese joint. And of course their Korean dish tastes nothing like actual Korean food. This ain't a fancy restaurant, it's first-class fast-food. As someone else mentioned, their menu is a condensed version of P.F. Chang's, so there's an Asian Fusion feel to this place. I ate here over a year ago and the food was not great then. I decided to try it again because I was at the Wegman's and it was late and I didn't feel like cooking. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken and Pad Thai Chicken to go. While I waited, I looked around and noticed that the restaurant wasn't busy. The area where you get your "to go" boxes was filthy (gross). Gosh only knows what the dine in tables were like, let alone the floor. My food took approximately 15 minutes to prepare . The employee who took my order, manhandled my food putting it in the bag. I had to ask for chopsticks. The Kung Pao had too much salt and the Pad Thai was horrible - so much vinegar! Chicken was plentiful, but mushy. With all the great Asian restaurants in Ashburn, we will take our business elsewhere. I am surprised they are still in business with all of the scathing reviews on Yelp. One star is too much. I feel they include way too much goopy sauce on their chicken dishes (sweet and sour chicken, honey seared chicken). It would be a lot better if the chicken were slightly crispy rather than mushy (as a result of being smothered in their sauces). This is a delayed review. I have been waiting for both Pei Wei Dulles and it's corporate offices to step up and address an issue with respect to their food. No such luck! A one star review is generous - they both deserve a zero star rating. The issue was food safety! The date of the problem - December 13, 2018. So, sit down for this issue - you may never look at a Crab Wonton the same way. Question - do you like plastic in your food? Specifically, plastic wrap? Good to chew on, filled with toxic material, and to boot - a choking hazard - or if in luck to be swallowed - a potential killer. Well that is exactly what I was lucky enough to receive - a potential choking hazard extra. A gift or a bonus. Adding the 6 Crab Wontons to my order was an impulse. Little did I know that lurking within a Crab Wonton was plastic "cling like wrap" with the following notation - "Cut on dotted line for approx. 1/2 -LB sections." A very unpleasant surprise. The discovery invoked an immediate loss of appetite and a telephone call to Pei Wei Dulles. The manager at the time (Alida Lopez) was informed of the discovery and she was unconcerned. Really! If you have plastic wrap in one Crab Wonton, it's discovered, you are alerted of the issue, you don't care, and you don't take action. Reckless behavior. What about the other customers who may be ordering Crab Wontons? I received the impression "you are looking for a free meal." No - not the case. My entire order totaling $19.39 was dumped in the trash. The food was deemed unsafe to be consumed. I ate cereal instead. I never received a refund for the food, a call back or response to my issue (from both Pei Wei Dulles nor its Corporate office) and I have not eaten there since. In my opinion, food safety especially concerning foreign objects contained therein that present a choking hazard demand immediate attention. Not the case here. Today I still wonder if the Crab Wontons at Pei Wei Dulles were ever dumped in the trash on December 13, 2018 after my phone call was made? I won't be able to answer that question because no one from Pei Wei perceived this issue to be a serious concern since they never called back or reached out to me. Sad. So - eater beware! Pei Wei is a'ight. I actually used to be a pretty big fan, but I feel that the overall quality of Pei Wei everywhere has declined over the last five or so years. I first noticed it in the quality of beef they use. I used to like several of their beef dishes, but now every time I get beef there I'm just disappointed. So I don't get it any more.
