The food is OK. About the same as any other restaurant of this caliber. The pricing is a tad steep for the portion sizes. Parking isn't great, you have to park around back and it's a bit of a walk to the entrance. The service is always great though, with the staff often tag-teaming especially with large groups.

This food was amazing! We came during brunch and everything was awesome! Service was good and the restaurant was clean. I've never had a bad experience!

Second visit in as many nights. We split the Short Rib, grilled cheese and the California Chicken sandwich. In my opinion, the California chicken sandwich was the better of the two. That sandwich had some pepper jack cheese on it some pesto which was banging. The picture of the short rib doesn't do it justice as this is really a French dip style sandwich. It was very good and each meal came with fries.

Went to Burtons Grill & Bar in Northern Virginia for a friend's 60th birthday. It was such a nice, chill atmosphere -- cozy, clean, and family-friendly. The wait staff was great, very friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The food was amazing! We tried a few different things -- the bag of donuts was delicious, and that little hint of lemon in the icing made them perfect. The General Tso cauliflower was surprisingly good -- crispy and full of flavor. The bread service was warm and fresh. Three of us had the short rib hash, and it was tender and hearty. We also ordered the Skillet French toast and the salmon, both really good. If I had to rate the dishes: Donuts - 10/10 Cauliflower - 10/10 Bread - 8/10 Short rib hash - 8/10 There wasn't a single bad thing to say about this place. Everything came out hot, fresh, and well-seasoned. Definitely a restaurant worth checking out -- there's something on the menu for everyone.

Service was excellent. They just needed to work on learning the menu to answer questions around how dishes are prepared. It was a bit freezing inside the restaurant, which was uncomfortable. The short rib grilled cheese was sloppy, tasty, but it wasn't my fave. The sweet potato fries were bomb however! The crispy soft crunch and they brought me honey for dipping which was so yum. I love how they make those fries. Best I've ever had! Pretty location and huge bar + dining space with lots of tvs for entertaining. Go, enjoy!

This place is our go to when we wanna go out to just listen to music and same time enjoy food. The service is always good. I enjoyed those chicken firecrackers. And their chicken wings thai is also really good. They used to have the lobster pasta but hhhhmmmm hope they bring those back. What i really like this place is-everytime i ask for something like change red sauce to white sauce. The server never said-they cannot but they check the kitchen too. Changing things out of the menu is bit to much but its worth asking. Thanks guys.

For my gluten free (GF) folks...this is a spot for you!!! I walked in and was immediately impressed when they asked (without prompting), "would you like the regular or gluten free menu?" I feel like that should be asked everywhere, lol! The food was absolutely delicious, and my waitress knew what she was talking about with regard to GF - this place is very clearly accommodating and knowledgable. In general, the ambiance was great - I think the attentiveness and understanding of my GF needs overshadowed everything though and was truly the best part. Will 1000% be back!

Enjoyed a celebration dinner at burtons on a weeknight. We made a reservation in advance and were glad we did so, it was surprisingly full for a Tuesday! We started with an appetizer, the tuna tar tar, which was incredible. For entrees we enjoyed the crab cakes with Parmesan truffle fries and the chicken risotto. I can't help get the crab cakes every time I visit a burtons location, they are just that good. It's full of crab meat, not fillers. Service was decent and they gave us a card for our celebration! We'll be back!

Let me start and say the staff, Top level, I believe his name was Alex or Adam. This was my first time at this restaurant I was sure what to expect at the table there was She-crab soup a fish sandwich and fries and a Ceasar salad and Greek chicken Salad. The meals can in a time manner, however I which they had a bread & butter service.. The food was good I am more impressed by the service from the staff

LOVE Burton's!! For my gluten free people--this is the spot to go. They have entire gluten free menu if requested, and everything on there is soooo good. They have a gluten free bread basket and the BEST gluten free cheesesteak for starters. Such a good menu, gluten free and regular, and the service is impeccable. Everyone is super friendly and ready to help you. Special shoutout to Jake who was so kind to us and made the best coffee! Very cute inside too, not too loud! 10/10 place.

The Maxx Burger at Burtons is a really good burger. Seasoned beef (yummy), melty cheese, crispy onion straws, and tangy sauce hits all the right spots. The bun holds up well without being too heavy, and every bite is packed with flavor. I paired it with fries for a satisfying and indulgent meal . If you're a burger lover, the Maxx Burger is definitely worth ordering!

Upbeat lively bar and grill with a great menu. Sat at the bar which has plenty of space. Bartender was awesome, he was kept busy during the lunch rush but made sure to check on us and get our drinks fairly quickly. Ordered the healthy salad and added steak which was cooked nicely. Fun spot for happy hours and weekend meet ups. Plenty of TVs if you're looking to watch a game.

You immediately get a sense of arrival upon entering the restaurant. The area near the entrance was heavily occupied, so we asked to be seated in the room where the bar was at the very back. It was quiet and isolated there. We were seated by the fireplace and immediately served. The ambience was cozy perfection & had plush immaculate seating. There was a choice of tables with chairs or couches & upholstered chairs with tables to dine & be served. The menu was very impressive. I asked for recommendations and was torn between what to select. I chose the Crab à la vodka with handmade pasta and ordered an Italian Wine White Flight: Pinot Grigio | Moscato | Vermentino. My husband selected a hand tossed pizza, the Holler pizza. We were very pleased with the food we ordered and tasted. It went beyond our highest expectations in ambience, service, and food. They do give military discount if you have military ID. The food was very plentiful, and we had the rest put in takeout containers. Overall, 5 out of 5 stars. It has been many years since a restaurant has highly impressed me as much as this restaurant has to such an extreme. Out of all the restaurants we went to in Alexandria, this is the restaurant I would choose to visit again for special occasions, entertaining guests, and date nights.

I'm originally from Buffalo and one of the greatest things about that city is the food. In fact, we…read moreoften joke that the thing that keeps people in Buffalo is the food and the sports. Buffalo pizza is a unique thing and accompanied by wings, some blue cheese and celery it elevates it to an equivalent of the British Sunday roast. It's something I would have with my family after a Bills or Sabres game on a Sunday and the thing is, there's hundreds of good pizza parlors in Buffalo because they all know how to make good pizza and good wings. Being a Buffalo ex-pat, Buffalo pizza is one of the things I miss most about Buffalo and I would do a lot of things to have some good, authentic, Buffalo style pizza. So when I came to Alexandria on business, on a whim I just did a Yelp search for Buffalo pizza to see if there was anything in the greater area and I found Baddpizza. Talking with the gentleman who cooked my pizza and wings, I learned that the owner came from years of working at a famous parlor in Buffalo called Bocce club. The smell and even the style of this restaurant was very pizza parlor to me. It brought back memories of walking up to a window or to an inside counter, ordering and heading back home to spend time with good food, good company and hopefully a good result for the Bills or Sabres! I was pleased to see Buffalo was represented well, with a big "716" decal, a standing buffalo with the city skyline on it and even, a sharp eye would spot a box of Josh's Jaqs cereal, a long running tradition in Buffalo to have a hometown athlete on a box of cereal. I mean truly, the only thing that would have elevated the space was a TV playing highlights of Rick Jeanneret calls or maybe a box of Flutie Flakes to go alongside of JA17's cereal. The food came out piping hot. There were plenty of peppers to take with you to add if you like that but the pizza came out exactly as I'd remember Buffalo pizza. The cheese is incredible, the pepperoni char absolutely spectacular, the sauce a slightly sweet tomato sauce that just reminded me of home. Seeing a lot of the reviews on here I felt a lot of them were harsh. Certainly, everyone's entitled to their opinion, but for Buffalonians, pizza and wings is a staple and they hit the nail on the head with an authentic experience 388 miles from home in Alexandria. I don't expect everyone to have the same reverence to Buffalo style pizza as I do, or we do, but to say it was flavorless is ridiculous. While I'm sure some of their specialty pizza's could leave more to be desired, if you stick with the classics, especially with charred pepperoni which is my absolute favorite topping, you will not have a bad time there. One tip on Yelp that I didn't listen to, but should have was that the sauce on the wings is not as spicy as you might think. I ordered medium which tends to be my go to and I felt it was more of a mild. If you like it a bit hotter, I'd say get them a stage hotter than you normally would. In fact if you get a double order of wings, you can pick two flavors, so go with your normal and then go at least a stage up. Also, important to note that as far as pizza parlor wings go, when you take them home they will not be as good and crispy. If you're expecting fresh crisp wings and have a drive or bus ride to go eat them, you will have to understand that wings won't keep. There's also not a lot of room to eat. And to be fair, I wasn't sure if I was allowed to eat there, but the gentleman cooking the pizza said it was no problem. But at least at this location, this might be a bring home, picnic or come with one or two because the restaurant doesn't seat many. I will also say that I took public transportation all the way from Old Town Alexandria to the restaurant and it was easy. It took a little more time than if I had a car, but it is doable to come via train and bus. And here's the thing, whether it's Chicago, New York, Detroit or Buffalo, clearly not every style is going to be your favorite. But I think if you want to experience something maybe new to you, or for those Buffalonians calling DC and the suburbs home or people like me on business and just missing a taste of home, you should go to one of Baddpizza's locations and get a taste of home. And to top this off, head next door to Wegmans to complete your Buffalo experience. Grab a couple other Buffalo staples like Weber's Mustard, Salens hot dogs, Bison chip dip (the best French onion dip you can get) and so much more. People will laugh at me for going here instead of heading to the Smithsonian or any one of the famous landmarks or museums DC has to offer. But when you have a chance to taste home and remind yourself of some of the great times you have with great people, or if you're new to Buffalo style pizza and want to create new memories with the people and sports teams you love, then give Badpizza a try. I'm so glad I did because my night was nourished by great food and great memories. Thanks Baddpizza!

First Watch is one of those places where I'm like eh.... Maybe not. But I did! We didn't stay long and only had our laptops open for the meal, but no one said anything so it was solid. Additionally, I didn't know what I wanted to eat because I wanted to be a little adventurous so I ask the waitress what I should get. I am sometimes hesitant to ask bc I always feel they're going to upcharge me instead of giving me their opinion, but I don't believe she did thank and I was grateful! Wish I got her name. FOOD: So, for me she suggested the chilaquiles. I trusted her input and ordered that! Very comfortable, clean, and spacious restaurant. Bathrooms were clean, chic, & modern style Large television screens in the restaurant. One of the televisions had cartoons on it - for children I guess. I selected the AYCE sushi for $27. First order was two sushi rolls: The Christmas roll and Ola sushi roll. The Christmas roll had raw salmon, avocado, masago, and tobiko. The Ola roll had eel, crab, cream cheese, and cucumber. I also two single white tuna sushi, 2 single masago sushi, and 2 single tobiko sushi. It was splendidly displayed on a wooden dragon platter. Despite being full, I ordered a second round of sushi to sample food items I never had: 1 tofu skin sushi, 1 mackerel sushi, and 1 yellowtail sushi. Plus two pieces of takoyaki or fried octopus balls. My husband ordered hibachi shrimp fried rice and said it was delicious. We both ordered Diet Coke. I made a mental note about how I should have skipped meals for two days instead of one before coming here for AYCE. Total price along with two drinks was $43. Not including tips for our server and the sushi chefs. They do give military discount with ID. Definitely a go see restaurant for great Japanese cuisine and AYCE. If you go for the AYCE meal deal, try skipping 2-3 meals and eat it on an empty stomach.

The worst quality sushi I think I've ever had at a restaurant, next would be gas station sushi…read more Order the sushi and sashimi for two, rainbow roll, spicy tuna roll, spicy yellow tail roll, and shrimp yakisoba. Really wish we didn't order so much everything was terribly low quality and tasted poorly. Spicy tuna and spicy yellowtail had an odd texture as if they cut it with something in order for it to go further. Yakisoba needed more sauce and seasoning it was super bland. Rolls had tons of imitation crab and tasted bland. Nothing was fresh. For all the nigiri and sashimi, it tasted so bland and lacked freshness that we actually needed to chop it up and turn it into poke just to make it edible. We tossed it in a ponzu sauce over rice and with all the toppings made it decent just to stomach it. Total was $94 for everything and I don't have one good thing to say. Will not be back at all.

You really get a lot with your order. The fried shrimp I ordered was an order of 20 shrimp and came with two sides and a canned drink. The portions were big. James even threw in an extra drink. Chatted with James while I ate and enjoyed the conversation. He's such a nice guy with a great personality. He truly cares about the community he serves. The one and only disappointment was they were out of Mac n cheese. I really wanted some Mac n cheese! lol

Y'all know your girl loves some catfish! My boyfriend told me about this spot because he knows my…read morecatfish obsession, so we turned it into a little after-work date night. It's a cute food truck parked in a church parking lot, and I was hype to eat. And just to be clear--I do not believe in reheating catfish. We dove straight into our styrofoam platters and were both pleasantly surprised. The catfish was fried to crispy perfection. Flavor-wise, it's no Aunt Glenda (let's be honest, who is?), but it was still solid. Personally, I'll always prefer my catfish with grits--just saying. We both ordered the greens and macaroni--yes, we failed to diversify, don't judge us. The greens were okay. The mac? Also okay. Being from the South, my taste buds for soul food come with high expectations and a very judgmental palate. Would I go back? Absolutely--especially if they start offering grits. Oh, and the portions are huge. You definitely get your money's worth. Go check them out and support the catfish cause.
