Chicken tenders with Mac and cheese
    Kris M.

It's hard to find gluten free savory food, but this is a great spot! We stopped in for lunch and ordered the chicken tenders with vegan Mac and cheese. Amazing! The service was friendly, but definitely account for them taking time to cook the food fresh. We sat outside where there were metal dining tables. The inside was super busy and does not have inside seating.

"Baby Cake" - like a zebra cake BUT even BETTER than the ones you grew up eating!!!!!!

If I could eat here daily I would... "Sanctuary" is a spot-on name for this incredible eatery! Tucked away in a cozy spot on Shab Row, you'll find just about every one of your gluten-free heart's desires. Savory and sweet comfort foods; order and eat there, or grab frozen/refrigerated goodies ready to be cooked and enjoyed at home! There is limited OUTDOOR seating only, but that wouldn't stop me from ordering lunch and eating in my car on a cold, winter day! The variety here is so impressive! They cater to many dietary restrictions, with vegan and meat options, as well as treats with and without dairy. I order a bunch of stuff to try. What I've had so far has knocked my socks off! - Apple cider donuts COVERED in cinnamon sugar - the best GF donut I've EVER had!! A fluffy, flavorful dream (not dense at all!) I ordered three and inhaled 2 the moment I got them. The third one held up beautifully until I ate it for dessert the same night. - Baby Cake - described by the cashier as similar to a zebra cake. That definitely sold me, but I would argue. is much better than any zebra cake I've ever had! This delight is a must try!! - Blueberry muffin - seriously, it was the best GF muffin I've ever had. Huge, flavorful, tons of delicious blueberries. It was big enough for two sittings (for me). I will absolutely be getting more of these! - Mac & cheese with crispy chicken - my wife ordered this for lunch and we shared. She agreed to get the dairy free mac & cheese so I could partake (but they have dairy Mac & Cheese too). It was absolutely delicious; the smell and the flavor of the chicken was reminiscent of your favorite fried chicken place. It was flavorful, tender, and a decent portion. I also purchased (but have yet tried) frozen chicken empanadas, eight (I think) ready to bake cinnamon rolls and dairy-free icing (at extra cost). I can't wait to try both of these! Everything that I purchased came to about $86. Yes, certified gluten-free food establishments are not cheap - they literally can't be... but for me, (and my father, who has celiac disease), it is worth every penny to be able to enjoy delectable food out that is both safe and so very satisfying! My only suggestion? Open up a location in Howard county!!!!

My parents surprised me with a custom-made, gluten-free red velvet cake from this wonderful certified gluten-free bakery. It was delicious and gorgeous! I've loved Sanctuary for years because of their wonderful lunches, but this just takes it to a whole new level.

Holy Hannah. This place is amazing! I heard about it from an assistant at my chiropractor's office and after the good things she said, I had to try it. I purchased a frosted sugar cookie, DF pot pie (large) and cinnamon rolls. The sugar cookie was good, a sugar cookie, not much to say. The cinnamon roll and the pot pie though, omg SO GOOD. The pot pie was so full (it weighed 4lbs) and had so much flavor. The crust was delightful. The chicken and potatoes were in big chunks. The peas weren't mushy. I highly, highly recommend trying any of their food.

Excellent gluten-free food. My rasers wouldn't let me have anything but one has celiac's

I was in Frederick, MD for some legendary local pizza and, as any reasonable person would, I wanted…read moredessert before making the 1 1/2-hour drive home. A server at the restaurant recommended Juno Bakery and confidently declared it the place for dessert in Frederick. Spoiler alert: She was right! I arrived at Juno on a beautiful June Saturday afternoon and the place was PACKED. It was actually hard to get back to the bakery cases because there were so many people happily loading up on sweet treats. While waiting for traffic to clear, I took a look around. The front of the bakery features several tables right beside huge plate-glass windows overlooking downtown Frederick. I immediately loved the idea of sitting in the sunshine, watching the world go by while shoving cake into my face. My kind of afternoon. I also appreciated Juno's hours. For a small bakery, they're impressive! 8am - 8pm Monday through Saturday and 9am - 6pm on Sundays. That kind of schedule makes spontaneous dessert side quests much easier. Eventually I made my way to the display cases and was blown away. Croissants, cookies, pastries, macarons, eclairs, savory items, cakes...so many beautiful things to choose from! Since I'd never been to a Korean bakery before, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. But I knew I was feeling cake. I posted up in front of the single-slice cake case, evaluated my options, and came to a perfectly rational conclusion. One slice? No. Two slices? Also no. Three slices? Now we're talking. Look, I didn't know what I'd like. I wasn't about to stand in line all over again if my first choice wasn't "the one." Surely I'd love at least one of them, right? I ordered a slice of the Carrot Cake ($6.60), a slice of the Blueberry Yogurt Cake ($5.99) and one of the mini Blueberry Cheesecakes ($7.55). My total with tax came to $21.35 and it was worth every penny! I asked to eat there and was handed paper plates and directed to the utensil station near the trash cans. I also overheard another customer being told that the restroom code was printed on paper receipts. Since I'd opted for an electronic receipt (no thanks to paper receipts!), I had to ask for the code separately. Not a huge deal, just a bit odd given that they offer electronic receipts. There are signs on the restroom doors explaining the process, but it's one of those little quirks worth mentioning. Armed with my three desserts and zero shame, I claimed a sunny table by the window and settled in. First up, the Carrot Cake. Dense. Super moist. Not overloaded with frosting, which I actually appreciated, much to my surprise, and absolutely delicious. It let the cake itself do the talking. Next came the Blueberry Yogurt Cake. This one was lighter and fluffier, with rich frosting and filling layered between. Best of all, it actually tasted like blueberries instead of just generic sweetness. The blueberry flavor screamed, "HEY! I'M A BLUEBERRY!" and I appreciated that. Then came the Berry Cheesecake. Oh. My. Goodness. This thing was rich, dense, and absolutely fabulous. It felt like eating an entire miniature cheesecake in slice form, which, honestly, is one of life's great joys! By the end of this little dessert extravaganza, I had consumed every single crumb of all three slices. Every. Single. Crumb. I had worried I might not love one of them. Turns out I had absolutely nothing to worry about. I still can't pick a favorite! Would I go back to Juno Bakery? Absolutely. Would I order three desserts again and demolish them like an absolute champion while sitting in the sun watching downtown Frederick live its life outside the window? Without hesitation. And now that I've discovered Juno Bakery, any trip close enough to Frederick just might require a mandatory dessert detour!

My son really enjoyed the rice crispy treat (with Lucky Charms cereal for St Patty's Day) and the cookie. However he LOVED the chocolate chip cookie sandwich (filled with chocolate and vanilla cream or icing) and said he would return just for that. Our 6 treats totaled $29.
