My experience is usually good when I go here. I love getting the orange chicken and sweet & sour chicken with rice. The chicken is very delicious, especially with the sauces. However, the fried rice is not really my favorite. To me, the fried rice could have more character. Besides that, they give you a hefty portion for what you pay. read more

Ordered Orange Chicken got something looking like dried beef in a horrible brown sauce. also order House Lo Mein with Xtra Chicken. Did not get but paid for it. The chicken that was in there was HIGHLY overcooked. Cabbage in the Lo Mein had what looked like mold on it. Called to let them know. Craving Chinese food. Normally go to a competitor on Wheatland. Ordered a Large Chicken Fried Rice and my wife ordered a Large Sesame Chicken. Both plates are huge so if its just two people eating I would highly recommend the small plates for both. I dont think its authentic Chinese Food as the owner is the only Chinese person in the restaurant on the staff. No Chinese people in the kitchen. Ordered our food via a call in. Waited about 5 mins once I got there. Food was hot and restuarant was clean. Taste: Rice was overcooked and lacked alittle salt. Chicken was sparse in plate and the pieces I got are okay. Sesame chicken was decent and cooked well. Egg roll tasted as it it should pretty good for a vegetable egg roll. Overall: If I was feigning for a budget Chinese food this is the place to go. I ordered to go. The food was hot and fresh and very large portions. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken. The chicken was crispy and the rice was actually sticky. The sweet and sour sauce could have been a little better. My wife's plate had vegetables and they were cooked correctly and still had bright colors. I don't think I've ever eaten Moo Goo Gai Pan with Potato or Cabbage in it. It was complete slop. This is not Chinese Cuisine. It is a completely lazy and unethical p[rparation of food. The Fried Rice is another joke, where is the egg and green onions and peas. They sell better and tastier foods in the Freezer Section of any grocery store. I had to give this restaurant a star to write this review. This is one of the WORST places I've eaten Chinese food at. I ordered the Curry Chicken, House Fried Rice, Pork Fried Rice, and Egg Rolls, all was not seasoned, very bland and the rice was kinda mushy and over cooked. The chicken in the Curry looked like mystery meat, it was flat, and absolutely NO taste, the only thing that was palatable was the egg rolls, we threw the whole $50 meal away! 5 stars?? Um... it's a strip mall Americanized Chinese restaurant. That said and for what it is, its ok. It VASTLY beats Ton's Palace of Nastiness. The place seemed clean enough, they had some sort of buffet that looked passable. I will give credit, I said I wanted it spicy and it at least had some kick (not enough of course - but it was better than most other places first efforts to sate my appetite for spice). I got the Szechuan Beef (which was anything but Sichuan)... it had some somewhat smushy beef, crisp vegetables that were fresh and a palatable brown gravy/sauce. It had decent flavor, was well seasoned and ok. The "fried" rice was anything but fried and appeared more as brown steamed rice. It was flavorless, overcooked and I used it sparingly. The egg roll was basic, bland (again how do you have a bland egg-roll???) and even with half a packet of Soy Sauce (if you want to call it that, the soy was bland, again WTFO??), I had to rescue the roll with my trusty bottle of Sriracha. All in all a 2.5 experience but since the main course was passable I gave them the nod to a 3. I'm still going to try and find decent chinese / asian food in the south burbs but quite frankly it's HARD. read more

Food was mediocre at best. We ordered orange chicken, beef broccoli, and shrimp fried rice. They were so unremarkable and average that I didn't see a reason to write a review. But when I opened the box to see the chicken wing appetizer delivered, I was so shook by the deformed pieces of meat in the box. Those wings were so gnarled that I just closed the box and walked away. I didn't want to even look at them anymore. I don't know where they got their chickens from, but I feel bad for them. They must have lived a hard life to come out looking that horrifying. This place gave me more of a scare than an enjoyable meal. I can't recommend this place to anyone. read more

If I could have given it no stars, I would have! My mom lives in the area (I'm in Garland) and my sister was in town from California. Mom got their flyer and saw that they had her favorite - Moo Shu Pork. We chose this over Genghis Grill and afterwards, wished we hadn't. When we walked in, there was a man at the counter but he didn't say "Hello", "Welcome" or anything. He just handed us the menu's, which were the same as mom had gotten on her door. We quickly figured out that we had to seat ourselves and that there were no waiters - you go to the counter, place your order and pay. I got the Hunan Shrimp lunch special, sis got the Bean Curd Homestyle and mom got the Moo Shu Pork. Since mine was the lunch special, I got soup and selected the Hot and Sour. It arrived in a Styrofoam cup, but was very tasty. While I was eating my soup, they brought over the eggrolls, steamed rice that mom and sis got with their meals and the pancakes for the Moo Shu Pork. The pancakes felt like they had just come out of the refrigerator so sis asked them to warm them up. They brought the warmed up pancakes and my meal. Again, it came in a Styrofoam container. Next they brought my sisters meal and a few minutes later, mom's came. Mine and my sisters were listed as being "Hot and Spicy" - they weren't. In the Hunan Shrimp, there was no seasoning that I could taste, other than the sauce. The vegetables were in HUGE chunks and tasted like they had barely been warmed up - not the tender-crisp that you normally get with Chinese food. Most of the shrimp were not cooked thoroughly and had a very strong shrimpy taste - like they hadn't rinsed them off. They also appeared to have some sort of batter on them. I got the fried rice and it tasted like steamed rice with a little soy added for color. Very bland and icky. Sis's meal was very bland and again, the veggies were in huge chunks. Her steamed rice was good and was probably the best part of the meal. The only thing that made hers hot and spicy was the spicy mustard she put on it! Mom was extremely disappointed in her Moo Shu Pork. The cabbage was the main ingredient and was barely cooked. The pork had some sort of batter on it and had been obviously fried, which is not the standard for Moo Shu Pork. It was also bland but mom said the plum sauce was good and the best part. The egg rolls were very bland and tasted like they had been warmed up in the microwave - they were chewy and not crisp. The food was so bad we barely ate our meals! For $30, I expected the food to be edible! When we left, we saw the McDonald's across the street and all agreed that had we gone there, at least it would have been edible and not cost us $30. We will NEVER eat here again and will advise anyone we know not to eat here either! I wouldn't even recommend this place to my worst enemy!!! read more

This is the worse I've ever had. It sucks because I didn't look at the reviews until i had ordered and paid. There was 4 people that I could see working and no one else. The timing was great and the staff was friendly. The lo mein Was a joke because the chicken was dry and the noodles were bland to the core with no color. The shrimp and broccoli shrimp was small. The other spicy chicken dish was ok. The rice was worse than something out of a box. The portions were large. My husband refused to eat it. Gave us no utensils or napkins. It's been a long time since I've been to the Peking Dragon. My mom even questioned if it was open. I loved doing their buffet. I'd mastered the art of packing up a to go buddy. I'm not sure if they still have it, but the buffet was not an option on a Saturday night. The few stream tables makes me think it's not a great option any day. Good thing, I only wanted noodles and steamed dumplings. I got the vegetarian noodle option. There was very little flavors; I doctored it up so I could get a little zest. The steamed dumplings were fine, but it's kind of hard to mess those up. I don't think the gentleman was too happy about my numerous sauce requests, but it actually saved the meal. It wasn't all bad. The restaurant is in close proximity. I was also pleased with the portion size, & it wasn't costly. The wait time was almost non-existent, always a plus in my book. WouldI visit again??? Started off on the wrong foot when they messed up our order and couldn't recover. It wasn't my choice to come here but I was a tad hungover and needed some lo-mein and wonton soup in my life fast. The combination fried rice smelt like it was scooped out of a festering dumpster, the sesame chicken was old and absolutely disgusting we ordered 35 dollars worth of food and threw it in the garbage because it was so bad! We ordered near closing time it took over an hour to get our food delivered to a close nearby hotel .....i was very upset and remained hungry all night because the food that we ordered was not edible. I just tried to place an order for delivery, only to be told that their delivery driver for Cedar Hill is " on vacation", and that I was basically SOL. Poor service doesn't quite cover this serious lapse in judgement. You're willing to lose money and customers by not planning accordingly? Well left good review earlier BUT ordered late last night, August 4, Thursday and the food was below average. Food looked and tasted old and questionable. My college sons are being hungry but I almost threw up. The 3 types of chicken were questionable in if it was real authentic chicken, weird taste and shapes. Chinese crooks abound every where. Great Chinese food - especially Kung Pao (ask for extra peanuts if you like nuts). Hot & sour soup & also sizzling rice soups are very tasty. Large lunch size take out includes rice, soup, entree & egg roll. Moved 1block south of original location that burned a couple of yrs ago. Excellent selection. Menu can b found @ their website.
