I seldom eat inside at this restaurant it's almost always drive through during dinner time 6:30-7:30. I ALWAYS get the SP#2, ALWAYS, so I don't know if I'm qualified to be considered as a good reviewer for The Wall. I also get the cream cheese wontons and they NEVER disappoint, I also get the fried wonton triangles and sometimes I get their fried dumplings and I've also tried their crispy shrimp, they have never disappointed me yet. Wall Chinese you need to get a better menu board for ordering so that people KNOW what they're getting. When asked for a "to-go" paper menu we were told they don't have one (after she looked at me like she'd never heard of a take out menu!!) Try to be nice and shop local rather than doing a chain, but they don't allow you to swap out rice for noodles even with an up-charge. I guess I'll be going to Panda Express from now on just so I don't have to pay for a completely separate meal to get lo mein noodles.. read more

You get a lot of food for the cheap price. With the cheap price comes okay food and poor customer service. To keep the drive thru line moving quickly they sacrifice customer interaction. There have been times where the cashier at the window won't even look at me. He'll stick his hand straight out of the window and wait for your card. We have eaten here for years. We get the sesame chicken and moo goo chicken typically, along with egg rolls and fried won tons. The food, amount, and prices are great. It's hot and fresh. We don't go inside as the convenient drive thru makes it unnecessary. In all our years, we have never been disappointed with the quality and never had a wrong order; service is quick, accurate, and friendly. I don't expect it to be upscale "authentic" Chinese cuisine that I could find in a large town with 1000's of Chinese restaurants to choose from. But for this area, Wall's is consistently good, fresh, and hot.....with excellent service. That's all I'm looking for when I'm craving some Chinese food and don't want to have to guess about whether I'm getting a good meal that I don't have to cook after a long, tiring day at work. read more

Food was good and brought out fast. Service personnel was friendly and courteous. The place was clean for the most part but there were a few tables that hadn't been cleaned. The atmosphere was that of a Taco Bell or some fast food place but better than I anticipated. It was just okay. Nothing special. We got 1 wonton soup and 1 egg drop soup and it so very bland i had to add seasoning to broth when i got home. We also ordered egg rolls which were actually pretty good and only $0.79 each. We lastly ordered the sesame chicken with plain fried rice and it was okay, the chicken was a bit chewy like maybe it had been sitting under the warmer for a bit. I've eaten at many a sketchy Chinese restaurant in my time. I pride myself on the fact that I've pretty much seen it all, from giant dead fish floating past me in the aquarium beside my seat as I'm eating dinner, to an all out fist fight over the last crab leg in the pan on the dinner buffet in Georgia. I take sketchy Chinese seriously as a cuisine because you never know when you're going to find the best General Tso's you've ever had. And then you come to The Wall, which can't offer you floating dead fish or Jerry Springer-Esque behavior. It also can't offer you the best General Tso's chicken you've ever had, which is probably where I should start this review. Actually, I should start with the fact that I've never seen a Chinese restaurant with an actual drive through where orders can be placed - aside from Panda Express. They don't count really - the food is pre-fab enough that they just scoop out a blob of orange chicken with a side of MSG and send you on your way. Instead of this approach; The Wall uses what I'd like to call the Chinese paint by numbers method. I placed my order thinking I would get warm, steamy, pore opening general Tso's with just that perfect amount of brown sauce sticking to everything, the occasional shriveled up spicy pepper, some overly green broccoli to ensure I've had roughage for the day, and a nice steamed rice. Sounds amazing, right? Instead, when my "server" arrived I got a plate of beige battered chicken - the same kind they give you when you order sweet and sour chicken. Beside it was a cup, filled mostly with a brown sauce; with a pretty hearty swirl of red through it and clinging to the bottom id imagine to be sirracha. That's when I realized I've been bamboozled. Hoodwinked. And lied to the same way everyone in America got lied to when the question "Who shot JR" was finally answered. That's when I started quickly figuring out the game. Beige chicken + brown sauce = garlic chicken The above plus sirracha = general tsos Beige chicken + sweet & sour sauce = Sweet and sour chicken ... you get the idea here. They get food out the drive thru window quickly, and it evidently fools the masses here in 'Hachie into believing they are getting a four star dining experience. I say this because the drive thru was non-stop the whole time I was eating, and plenty of people strolled in to get the insert chicken dish here with no regard for how this place found a way to further bastardize Americanized sketchy Chinese food to a new low. Please - if you have any understanding what Chinese food should taste/smell/look like, avoid this place at all costs. Also ordered spicy garlic beef(came with rice, egg roll and drink). All I can say is to never go solely on reviews alone until you go and try it for yourself (unless the review had something to do with bugs or any type of uncleanliness - then you can forget it!). The food came out fast and the price was in sync with the portion in which you receive. Food tasted good and was the proper temperature when I made it home. Will come again. so i wrote this review 4 years ago and posted to urbanspoon. tried again recently and NOTHING HAS CHANGED. didn't feel like wasting time and effort on a new review so here's my original thoughts on this doozy of a place: moved to hachie about 6 years ago and tried the wall then. my first impression was, "okay, this will do if i need some chinese food and don't feel like driving a zillion miles to anything else." i think that in the six years since that first try, i've had their food around 4 more times, 2 of which i've had to return. i just can't think of anything marginally okay with it anymore. mongolian beef had freakin' carrots (no-no) and garlic beef had no trace of garlic. shrimp fried rice is OKAY but needs lots of soy sauce (now its just dry, gritty and not even OK) the last time (around 2 weeks ago) was the proverbial straw; i ordered the orange chicken (the go-to chinese dish. who can mess that one up? really?) what i got was more in line of little bits of chicken embedded into gigantic balls of deep fried dough swimming in some kind of orange-y glaze. ehh. i'll pass next time and just head straight to the grocery store for some frozen PF Chang's orange chicken (unless i feel like driving a zillion miles out) :) read more

They have great rice but the entrees can either be good or gross depending on the day. It's a gamble going here. Sometimes the chicken has a really gross aftertaste. The price you pay for living more than 30 minutes away from a large city with decent Asian food. Oh, they also short you on rice sometimes. Putting slices of oranges and shit in one of the compartments where rice usually go. Like I don't notice -_-' sometimes the egg drop soup taste like pee. They were open on New Year's Day so my boyfriend and I decided to try them out. Despite being very slow, we felt rushed while placing our order and when we sat down we noticed there were food crumbs all over the floor. Their sweet and sour chicken was over cooked and their sesame chicken was actually just their sweet and sour chicken with sesame sauce poured on top of it. The one in Waxahachie has way better food than the new one they just opened in Red Oak about a year ago. I have been eating at the Red Oak location since it opened and have seen the quality of the food go down hill.. I ordered the wall lo mein and paid an extra 2.00 for extra beef, chicken and shrimp and ended up with 3 shrimp, and little if any extra beef and chicken, plus it had no carrots what so ever. I make sure to double check my order now before I leave the drive though, and only order during lunch and dinner during the week to ensure the best quality, the weekends tend to have decent food most of the day. The egg rolls could be better, but for .95 cents what can you expect? The price is reasonable and you can feed a family of 4 for less than 20 bucks if you order the large servings. Sadly living in the country as we do having many other options for chinese is limited so we still eat there in a pinch when we're craving chinese if we don't feel like driving the 25 min into Dallas. read more
