I stopped in here during being stranded for hurricane Irma. I wanted some good Chinese food and popped in here. My usual go to is General Tso's Tofu which was not on the menu. I simlpy asked the friendly man at the register if they made it, and sure enough he said yes. The General Tso's tofu came out in about 10 minutes or so, and having no where I needed to be I ate in the restaurant. It's tiny inside, as most of their business is take out or delivery. However it was adequate. When I sat down one of the employees brought over a plate, extra napkins which was nice of him to do as the meal was all packaged up (again, mostly takeout and delivery). The broccoli was fresh and tasted great, and the tofu was well cooked. The General Tso's sauce was too sweet for my taste and lacked some flavor, hence the ding of one star. The portion was huge, and came with white rice. You'll certainly have another meal/snack when you are through unless you are super hungry.

I saw this place from the outside as I was dining accross the street and came backs to try it. To my disappointment, it was a local takeout place with a small seating area on high chairs. However, it did have an intoxicating aroma (in a good way). They also had a small sushi bar and a menu for ramen options. I ordered the beer ramen with spicy broth and it was actually pretty good. Came with pickle ginger, shredded dry seaweed, radish and loads of beef. Broth was on the salty side, but was really good for a takeout spot. I will be back to try or takeout some other ramen options.

Best Chinese food around. My love for sushi and rolls all started here. I was always afraid to eat raw food and well i didn't see the purpose of rolls because they were so small. Luckily a friend of mine insist we order sushi / rolls from here, and that they had an item that would surely change my perspective. The food delivery is average depending on how busy they are, but when the food arrived, it was hot and smelled delicious! They have Big portions and the food is well prepared, again nothing like other Chinese stores. So now we get to the rolls, where she hands me a tray filed with rolls that look similoar to the california roll but with a slice of mango on it! Holy mango! It was amazingly good, and so my love for sushi/rolls began. We ordered a number of rolls from their menu and none disappoints! On another note they have Great all day specials but like i said big portions. I love that they have cute bento box. I like the salmon or chicken teriyaki bento box. The location might not seem ideal to some, (with parking) but its not meant to be an eat in restaurant. they are definitely worth a try or two or eight!

First of all, we couldn't find the place because there is no signage. I guess that's part of the "charm"? But literally when we found it we didn't even know if the place was open. The gates were down, the windows were basically covered and nothing about the place was welcoming. We realized they were in fact open so we approached the door. We were greeted by a piece of paper stating "reservations only". We entered anyway and the place was EMPTY. There was one couple seated but other than that the place was EMPTY. The hostess approached us and I asked her if we needed a reservation and she said we did. So we said ok we'll come back another time and then she said, " well since it's pretty quiet tonight we can seat you." We should have left. We were in there for about an hour give or take and no one else came in at all. At all. Anyways, we ordered our food. I ordered the sashimi plate and my husband ordered a couple rolls. We also ordered the crab and avocado salad and the hamachi kama. Everything was basic. Nothing was amazing...oh except the price of the hamachi kama. Menu said market price and I get it, that means the price will fluctuate accordingly, but $60 for the hamachi kama? I almost fell off my chair when the bill came. I have eaten at very high end sushi restaurants and am almost 50 years old. I have never had a $60 hamachi kama. This one wasn't even tasty!!! It was not good or flavorful. Tasted like they just defrosted and microwaved it. I was wondering why i kept hearing a microwave go off but realized after the fact that that's what they must have done. I did not complain. We paid the bill. We left. Later that night I had stomach issues. Nicest way I can put that. I will say that i ate almost nothing that day so I can only attribute the stomach issues to the sushi. Needless to say we will not be back.

I was one of them when I first visited this restaurant about a decade ago and did so during my recent session again. Though they may be one of the best options for traditional Chinese food in the area, comparing them to restaurants in Flushing would land them on the lower end of the spectrum. With that said, they do certain things relatively well, namely the dumplings. I prefer their pan fried dumplings over the boiled because of the skin texture. For some reason, the boiled ones felt a bit tough and chewy, while the pan fried dumplings were better, especially since it has a crispy crust on the bottom. Fillings I have tried are chive & pork, as well as cabbage & pork. Both were quite good and stuffed to the brim. I also do like their wontons with spicy sauce, which has a shrimp & pork filling. Also plump and juicy, these wontons are quite delicious. The sauce is not really all that spicy, but flavorful. As for other items I have tried, most were not bad but below average. That includes the Dan Dan Mein, Beijing Style Noodles, and the Sesame Pancake with Beef. One thing I would recommend to skip would be the Hot & Sour Soup, which was neither hot or sour. If you are in the neighborhood and craving some dumplings or wontons, then seek out this little shop. However, if you want any other types of Chinese food, I would advise you to skip.

However, this one night I have discovered that the Bar is hiding its best service. Waitress was friendly and efficient as customers waiting for seats or takeout orders. As busy as JFK is, never did I feel rushed. Upon arrival, I immediately noticed QR Codes on the counter for you to order from. Was a little sticker shocked at the prices on the menu, but what can I expect? It's NYC. All I ordered was gyoza and fried rice. Food came out in about 10 minutes or so. While I sat at the counter, I stared at the 3 TV screens avoiding the chaos of the airport. What really stood out to me was the liquor selection but was extremely tired to have had any type of alcohol with my dinner. Food was okay, but hot from the kitchen. Would I come here again? Well, when we walked in, we were told that it was going to be dinner prices that afternoon during the lunch period. Why? Because it was July 3rd. The manager said he was just alerted by Corporate that morning. Dinner price is $35, so our combined $46 lunch was now going to cost us $70 for the same food. Annoyed, we agreed - what choice did we have after an hour in traffic, finally making the time to get there as we had been wanting to try KPot for a while. So we begrudgingly sat down and reconciled that it would be costing more for the same thing -- the food and experience had better be good at least. Once seated, we were told that we were not allowed to get more food from the buffet to take home. Understood. I ordered a hot pot of tomato broth and went up to get my vegetables and noodles to bring back to the table. When the broth arrived, only about half of the noodles and veggies would fit in the bowl, which I hadn't expected, but I figured, okay fine, I'll eat and add more veggies to the broth as I go. Well, I tasted the broth -- it tasted like cheap, runny tomato sauce. Now I was stuck with a bowl of soup I didn't like very much. I slogged through it, waiting for my veggies to cook through. The noodles combined with the sauce really tasted like a below average spaghetti and tomato sauce meal that I could have paid much less for at an an actually good Italian restaurant. I ate each unhappy bite, frustrated that I was paying $35 for this. Meanwhile, the noodles were absorbing the broth at a rate faster than I could get the food down, so soon I was left with a pile of noodles and vegetables at the bottom of my bowl. Since this was NOT extra food that I had gone up to get in excess, but WAS ALREADY IN MY BOWL, I asked if I could take it home. Even though I didn't like it, I felt it was mine -- maybe I could add some seasoning at home or my own broth and bring it back to life. I was told I would be charged $12 to take home the food that was already cooked, in my bowl, that I couldn't get through fast enough before it all got absorbed because it tasted so poorly. The manager was no help. He claimed if he did it for me he'd have to do it for everyone. I felt my situation was different -- I did not go up to take food for the purpose of gouging myself or them out of money, but rather, that I could not finish the singular bowl of soup that I ordered because I didn't like it, and the food that I took was intended for the one bowl of soup that I had intended to eat -- and btw, paid DINNER PRICES for. After a prolonged discussion, the manager said he'd make a phone call and see what he could do. But he came back and said he couldn't do anything. Really, dude? You understood the situation -- we were surprised with dinner prices even though the holiday that provoked it wasn't until the FOLLOWING day and there was nothing on the website or doors that advertised holiday prices on the day before a holiday. Then, the situation about the buffet food was explained poorly -- I understood we couldn't take excess food and expect to take it home, so I only took enough for my one overpriced bowl of soup, which then both tasted bad AND got absorbed by my noodles. The food I asked to take home was already in the bowl, cooked and soggy -- NOT on an extra plate waiting to be cooked. It was the principle of the whole thing. Unsavory, overpriced food, discompassionate service, greedy corporate rules. Also, if you're going to charge people more for dinner because you're adding more meats & fish, you're doing a disservice to vegetarians coming to your restaurant. You didn't add a single extra vegetable that wasn't already on the lunch menu, yet you charge them $12 more. Do better, KPot! Or don't, I don't care. We won't be coming back.
