I'm sure many Asian food are available in the Cumberland County but this my real " Go to Chinese joint " whenever I crave for some authentic Chinese food on a budget. Peking Wok always comes to mind. I've been here alot and the price has gone a little higher but we will continue to eat my favorite egg drop soup, chicken with cashews, sweet and sour pork with the best lo mein in town. I recently moved here from Los Angeles but I'm originally from B'klyn, NY. Peking Wok is that NYC Chinese restaurant that I've missed for so long. I love the fried wontons they are a hit with me, sure they could use more filling but still great. The chicken lo mein is fantastic- a hit with my west coast wife. The ribs are very good not just sweet like other places in the country. While I was waiting for my food- I noticed their "A" rating. I started to look around the whole restaurant and then noticed how clean everything is. Even the a/c ducts were spotless. So far I've been there over 7 x's in 2 weeks. I ordered pork and broccoli... I didn't eat it till the next day because it was going to be my lunch. When I did open it, there was more broccoli than meat.. I exactly had 10 pieces of meat. I don't like to waste money and especially on food. I will never eat here again. read more

Nasty. General Taos chicken, about a dime size chicken and a lot of breading. The chicken was so dry you could not chew it. I tried several pieces. Pork roll flavorless. It fried rice zero flavor. After I noted they have a score for sanitation of 90! If I had seen that before I would have never set foot in there. And for sure will never again. Ordered the Shrimp Chow Mein, the Pepper Steak with Onions, and the pork egg rolls, with white and vegetable fried rice. Everything was absolutely perfect and delicious. Tried a few Chinese Restaurants before I finally found Peking Wok, and it was worth the effort. Their employees are always friendly and willing to explain things if you have any questions. I do usually have some special requests for my order and they've never gotten my order wrong. It's a small place but there's usually a seat or two if you choose to eat there. I always call my order in to go (because I'm usually shopping at the Walmart in the same shopping center). Food is always hot, freshly made, and delicious. My favorite is their Veggie Fried Rice, it's filled with broccoli, onions, peas & carrots (and I think mushrooms but I always ask for No mushrooms). The only thing worse than their food is their customer service! I order from the doordash app and upon receiving my food (still steaming) I was immediately disappointed. I ordered the kung pao shrimp which consisted of 6 shrimp & a container crammed with raw celery. My shrimp egg foo young was greasy & tasted like the oil was way past its change date. My egg drop soup didn't taste like anything & my Happy Family meal was anything but. I found 1 shrimp & 3 pieces of imitation crab. When I called the restaurant to complain they hung up on me 5 times, then when they finally decided to hear my grievances the non gentleman told me to pack it up and bring it to the restaurant so they could "see" the food. This was 8pm at night & this food was supposed to be for my Christmas eve & Christmas day dinner. Needless to say I used the rice (the only thing decent) to make my dogs an extra special meal today for Christmas. I will never be ordering from this horrible establishment ever again & I may just put the food in the freezer in case I do decide to take it in so they can see it in all its disappointment for themselves. Ordered boneless spareribs, Singapore chow mei fun, sesame chicken, and crab Rangoon . Sesame chicken was okay. The sauce was not dark like most places. It had a yellow hue almost like it had food coloring it. Lots of cornstarch here. Sauce was almost congealed. The egg roll that came with it was tough and chewy. Generally, I don't eat them anyway. I prefer spring rolls but tested this one for this review. I have had better. Crab Rangoon was almost bland, with no real intense flavor. Most places are too sweet. They get points for not having overly sweet filling but it was also not very flavorful. The best portion of the meal was the chow mei fun. It was very spicy with nice flavorings of curry, and plenty of meat. They are fast. We are a 10 minute drive from this place and when hubby walked in the door the food was ready for pickup and was nice and hot when we sat down to eat at home. read more

Spent 22$ with myself and my mom and got a pork egg roll instead of shrimp...I do not eat pork, so after biting into it and realizing it was wrong, I was told I could pay the difference of 16 CENTS to get my order corrected. Went out to the car to get change and when I returned I was told I need to bring my HALF EATEN EGG ROLL BACK OVER THE COUNTER AS WELL! Lady was RUDE and accused me of ordering what I received after myself and my mother told her that was impossible. The best S&S chicken has more chicken than breading - that was not the case. The Kung Pao Shrimp - holy mother of vegetables that was a lot of celery!!! Like seriously 75% of my container was celery. This was the worst Chinese food i've ever had- and I eat alot of Asian cuisine. The restaurant was clean and new and the menu expansive so I was optimistic. We ordered the sesame chicken, lo mien, beef and broccoli, hot and sour soup and potstickers for $55. A little on the high side but the portions were good sized so i thought we'd have plenty of leftovers. The appearance was fantastic but nothing tasted right, let alone good. The meat in the potstickers had a sour taste, although the dipping sauce was good. The soup was thick with tofu and onions but somehow the flavor didn't come through. It just tasted flat- like black pepper or something. The wontons for it tasted like breadstick pieces. That was not pleasant. The beef and broccoli container was half full of onions. Just onions. The lo mein looked great but tasted awful and the chicken was so bad even the kids wouldn't eat it. We ended up throwing everything away. Depending on which direction your coming from, there's a Chinese place on 87/Bragg blvd in Cameron, half way to sanford across from Linden Oaks in the Food Lion complex that is fantastic.
