Steve gave us a time window for his arrival, called to confirm in advance, and then provided one of the most detailed and thorough jobs we have ever experienced. His service included using both vacuum and a rotating brush inserted from outside to clean every inch of our ducting. He then went a step further and cleaned the inside of the dryer after removing the back paneling. The before and after pictures (to follow) were amazing. He was clean , neat and everything was reassembled and tested before he left. Could not provide a stronger recommendation.

Glendale lumber epitomizes the single store operation that has been handed down from generation to generation,. Its sad to see so many fall by the wayside and heartwarming to see those businesses that have remained. I had my stairs to the basement rebuilt this week, first instructions to him were to use Glendale Lumber for all materials. I did this knowing full well his reply would be that they are more expensive than Home depot. I am not a rich man, but I will pay extra to a local family run business, always have and always will. The blond oak planks were cut and ripped to my specific needs at no additional cost. Quality of the wood was excellent, no knots, straight and not dinged up in any way. "Back up your vehicle into the garage as to not get a ticket at the hydrant" was the advice of the workers, who accommodated my contractor by loading up the material and attaching a red plastic flag to the end, for visual warning to drivers behind his truck.

Not only did Sammy get what we were going through, he was down to earth and helped us pick just the right entryway tile we wanted for the landing. He helped us lay out around 10 samples on the ground, and its funny, what we went with was not at all what I was thinking we would get. I happy with Sammy's suggestion and the final product; Italian porcelain with slight grey undertones and it sparkles gently when light hits it. We hired Melga to replace the bathtub and bathroom flooring. The contractors never showed up on…read moretime. I was waiting for them to show up everyday so that I could get to work. One morning, I was told they would arrive at 9:00 AM and they did not show up until 11:30 AM, which derailed my schedule for the entire day. They didn't even bother to call. I had to hunt them down. They never appropriately communicated timing and were disrespectful of my time. As another example, they had to remove the toilet and didn't tell me until the day-of that I would not have access to the only toilet in my apartment. I had to find another place to stay for the night and would have appreciated more notice. The bathroom installation was complete and the workers were polite for the most part but the work was not detailed oriented or thoughtful. Some of the work was sloppy and we had to call them back to fix things but not everything was repairable. For example, the sink was not level when it was installed and they could not redo it without having to repair the wall as well. Now we have a sink that is not level and all of the water runs to one side. One day they took out the toilet and brought it out into the kitchen and they spilled toilet water all over my floor. I was horrified. They did not thoroughly clean after themselves either. However, I had expected that I'd need to hire professional cleaners after the job was complete anyway. They also did not bring all of their supplies and asked me for things like sponges to use for grout application or a broom and dustpan. This was fine, but they would throw out everything they used. I never saw the broom or dustpan again. I also had two shower heads that were in good condition and they threw one out. Not sure why but it was very wasteful. There were other negative points that I have omitted from this review to keep it from getting overly lengthy. Overall, Melga completed the work and the bathroom is now in working order but I definitely would not recommend Melga to any of my contacts or rehire them for any future work.

There is one older Caribbean gentleman who wears a cap and works behind the counter who is especially rude. Another employee was on the phone with a customer, so I was left standing there with no acknowledgment at all. If my business is not appreciated, I am more than happy to take it elsewhere.
