Had been experiencing some issues with a cargo box and after experiencing the same issues with the replacement box I decided to stop by HQ and see if there was anyone that could help. Didn't realize that there was a warranty dept there. Talked to the warranty manager and even though cargo boxes are made and designed back east. He still took charge of the issue and I even brought in the original one for them to look at. In the ending the issue is still pending but I do appreciate the extent he and the company are going to resolve the issue. I am lucky to live only a few miles from the HQ so it has worked out. Stupid little rant - its not even the money that bothers me, its the principle. I had a little Pelican 1920 pen light that I carried for work stop working just a couple of weeks after I got it. I reached out to the warranty dept and they had me do the online claim and pay $5 for the return shipping. The next day they emailed me telling me to send the light in. Great, shipping it to them (plus the cost of a small rigid envelope to ship it in) would cost somewhere around $20 via USPS. Add the $5 they have you pay already, and my $35 flashlight would've cost me somewhere around $60 by the time I got a working one?!?! Its not my fault you guys made a POS product, why should I have to incur the shipping costs to make it right? I did my job, I paid for the product in the 1st place, your'e the company thats worth hundreds of millions of dollars, YOU GUYS should pay for the shipping costs! Absolutely worthless warranty. Ordered a custom case. The case had small metal shavings in it. Which was alarming. I once saw a friend drop a screw into a computer. It shorted and that was the end of his computer. And I was planning to put expensive electronic equipment with large vent holes in the case. When touching blue masking tape to the the metal rails, the masking tape would pick up tiny bits of metal. (See pics with blue tape.). I don't want to put my equipment into the case if it might get shorted. Maybe I am worrying too much about it. My equipment is super expensive though. Pelican offered to clean the case, sent an RMA with a return label. I thought this was a nice gesture until I got the case back. It looked like someone ran a towel throughout the case, in a hurry, and then shipped it back to me. There were little bits of fabric threads stuck to the rails. I did the blue masking tape test again and tiny metal bits still came off the rails. I asked my reseller if Pelican would take the case back. This was the reply: -- I just got off the phone with Pelican. Given that this was a custom case and there is nothing wrong with the case (physically), they will not take it back. All custom cases are Non-returnable/ Non-Cancellable. They do have different levels of cleaning, but it's not free and you will have to pay for shipping. -- I am disappointed that I spent over $2100 for a custom case with metal shaving bits on the rails from poor quality machining, and they want me to pay them to clean it? Something they should have carefully cleaned BEFORE it left the factory. read more

Purchased this product because of some articles online stating your firearms are safe to travel in these cases. My bolt action cost 6k so obviously I'd want the best protection hence I got the 1750 protector. When it arrived in the mail the box it came in was damaged and the pick and pluck foam was missing. So much for any kind of customer service. Let me start by saying as a grant purchasing coordinator for a very large so cal fire dept, we deal heavily with vendor relationships. We've done business both on the professional side for the dept and personally for our members. Having a local company produce an exceptional product with good customer service is a rarity. Pelican used to be that kind of company. Members could depend on dropping by and getting their VERY expensive equipment serviced or exchanged with a smile. Often they could preview new products and even purchase a few while at the office. Not any more. Went to have an expensive light either repaired or exchanged today and preview a couple of items for our current grant purchases. That quick went south as the receptionist looked at me like i was an alien, provided me with a vendor in the area that would show/sell me items I needed. I inquired about the guarantees they used to have on their products and how the easy repair/exchange process used to work. Again, I'm an alien. Also wanted to take a look at their top secret showroom for some upcoming purchases, but that wasn't going to happen either. Weird, you can see into the showroom, but you cannot access it. Finally got them to have someone come out and take a look at my duty light. She was very nice and replaced a few pieces that were not faulty, and told me to go to their recommended vendor to purchase a replacement battery. Inquired about the new model which is upgraded from the 7060.....yep, don't have one to look at and cannot sell it anyway. So for the drive and lack of customer service I left with a non functioning flashlight and a recommendation where I could go spend more money on a light I have already spend over $200 for.....yah, not happening. Bummer, with the most expensive products on the planet, I would expect more. Fortunately, there are a lot of manufacturers to choose from on my side of things. I can assure Pelican, there will be no further grant purchasing done under my coordination and I will definitely spread the word to members not to spend their hard earned money at this company. My Pelican 1490 case has two hard points for connecting a shoulder strap. I shipped it recently with a major airline and when it was returned by the airline, the plastic around the hard point was broken and there was a 1.5" x 2.5" hole in the case. When I sent photos to customer service they replied that "the damage to your case is not normal wear and tear or manufacturing defect and it has been denied for replacement under warranty". That warranty includes the following "All warranty claims of any nature are barred if the container has been altered, damaged or in any way physically changed, or subjected to abuse, misuse, negligence or accident and this includes from airline and transportation (trucking) corporations as well." This case seems to be poorly designed as there is no reinforcement for this connector and it will naturally catch on anything as it is moved around. I have left a message for product development at Pelican and hope that they will improve this case. read more

I purchased an 80 qt. Cooler from Pelican, which had a molding issue. The snaps for attaching a seat cushion could be installed because Pelican decided to place their indented logo in the same location where the snap is placed. After speaking with customer service for several months, they replaced it with the same defective cooler. They either never read my compliant or did not care. After more time dealing with this issue, they denied there was a molding issue and replaced that cooler with a different on of equal value. There 2nd replacement had the same molding issue. At this point they admitted that their was a molding issue but I should just live with it. They failed to respond to my BBB complaint and have ignored my communications. They are horrible and would not recommend anyone doing business with them. read more

I used to work at the Warehouse here, their employees are horrible. The leads I used to work for were so unprofessional and were constantly bullying me so I would leave. I was younger, this was a few years back and there was no control over the negativity in this place. I would have Four female leads checking my work at the same time. Once a female lead recorded me with her cell while I was on the convener belt working, intimidating me, so I complained to the manager and nothing ever came of it. He didn't even get back to me about anything. He was a bald guy. When I quit after all the harassing I was told that this is what the women leads do here to all the young girls. Had to get my department issued flashlight checked out and I thought it would be a quick trip. Turned out a little longer and $28 short because I had to buy a battery which isn't covered. No big deal. Well after drinking a lot of water of course I had to relieve myself of the excess. After asking the security/reception (who kept eyeballing me) if they had a restroom I could use, he first started, "Ummm, give me a minute (hesitantly)" and then started with more personality "We don't have restrooms for the public." Then I started to the employee assisting me that I find it pretty strange that there is no bathroom to use when we must revel to this location in order to get our equipment serviced. And his response, "We do, but only of you're in uniform." Really.?! I didn't know my urine changed depending on what I wore. Thanks LA for changing us to these flashlights, resulting in a trip out of the way to a place I call into question especially if you're not allowed to use their restroom dependent upon how you're dressed. Always had great warranty service for their various flashlights. I'm lucky to live nearby, so I'm able to go direct to their offices with any broken/bad products. They've always cheerfully replaced my lights with a new one, many times with a newer, or better, model. I have no qualms about buying any of their products, although some are a little pricey. So I went on http://www.pelican.com/ and asked where I can get a replacement pin. They asked what model and what pin. so I told them. A week later they sent me the pin for free in the mail. Terrible customer service! I submitted an email claim on my Pelican 1010 case that had broken in the hinge area. They asked my to ship the case to them and include a $5 check to reimburse them for the new case they would ship out. Shipping the case would cost $7 and require me to go to the Post Office. I can purchase a new one online for $13! I asked if I could take a picture of the broken case and save me the time and expense of shipping the case. The answer was no. I asked if they could pay for the shipping back to me...since I was paying to ship the case to them. The answer again was no! Basically no warranty when I have to pay just as much to ship the case to them and pay the return shipping than it would cost me to buy a new one.
