My family and I stopped in after a day on the lake. We got some dessert for the kiddos and cocktails for the adults. The server was great, especially with us having 3 young, overtired boys. She was very patient with them. She recommended a Mermaid Water for me. I give it 2 thumbs up! We saw there was karaoke later that night (Saturday), so we came through. It was family friendly and not long of a wait to get in the rotation. There we tried the queso and it's definitely better than some texmex places I've tried. Pelican's landing is one of my favorite fly-in restaurants. The marina has a grass airstrip that all the local pilots fly in to and walk over to eat at the restaurant. Their business is seasonal. During the winter things are usually pretty slow but during the summer, they can get really busy. The food is good and the service usually is too. There's a patio overlooking the lake and a well stocked bar. read more

A great restaurant inside the Cedar Mills Marina and Resort. It faces the marina with lots of big windows, and a great patio if the weather is good. I had breakfast here while I was checking out the cabins for rent. I picked the Garbage Pail, which is everything breakfast thrown in a big pile! A lot of food, which I couldn't finish. Too much of a good thing! The decor is great, as was the staff. They told me all about the restaurant and the resort. Here's what you need to know. I had friends from out of town come to visit. I took them to the Landing and hoped the food was better than the past. The Cod Basket was very cooked as well as the shrimp basket. Shrimp were tiny and cooked to death. The Etouffee was ok so my friend said. The calamari was a joke. 14.99 for small pieces that were cooked to death. I was embarrassed and the price without drinks was 79$. No ambiance can help with this type of food. read more

I was in the area and had heard about the view of the sailboats from the restaurant. I decided I would go, sounded like a great place. Once I arrived it seemed like more workers standing around talking to each other and not providing good customer service. We had to go ask for a refill on drinks. It appears the food isn't fresh made, mostly frozen food is served. I had the hamburger, not much for flavor. We were invited to go back again the next day. Had a pizza. Service is horrible. We are avid boaters and have been here at least 25 times. Today I just decided "we're done"- waited for waitress over 10 min for her to even come to greet us. She had a mouth full of food so I suppose we interrupted her lunch. She got drink order and then brought that and disappeared another 15 min. We left cash on the table to cover our drinks and left. She just never came back. This is unacceptable. I've had it with them honestly, this happens all the time. I'm not even kidding, it's like everytime we go we wait and wait. Other servers are all standing around and the restaurant was literally empty at 3:30. There was 1 other table today and they can't take a dang order. We've been coming here for years. First time here. Views are great, staff is friendly and food is good. Room for improvement with food and waiting time to get food took a little longer than usual. Fried catfish was yummy and shrimp was great! Bayou burger was missing some sort of sauce but fries were good. Onion fries tasted frozen but was okay. All in all, just not impressed. Full disclosure, we had a party of 8. The wait to get a table wasn't terrible, roughly 30 min, but it does have a bar to pass the time with a good view. Food was less than enjoyable for most of the group. Half didn't eat their meal. I however did enjoy my meal of the blackened Catfish étouffée and my sister enjoyed her salmon. My wife however couldn't eat her chicken breast, the fish tacos were bland and the steak was overdone and tough. read more

The view and decor in this restaurant is very very nice, unlike the waiter who could not get my order right. I mean compared to my family I ordered the plainest food ever a cheeseburger with nothing on it. And yet I got a hamburger with a lot of things on it. How the heck do u mess that up. While staying at a nearby Airbnb for a weekend getaway during 2020 bleh, we got takeout from Pelican's Landing twice. Above average and worth going back, but not a 5-star experience. Scott C hit the nail on the head about COVID risk. This place was hoppin both times I stopped by to pick up my order. Awesome vibe, nice staff, hand sanitizer at checkout, and even a sign on the door reminding people about their mask (which I watched patrons walking in blatantly ignore). But NOT COVID friendly. So heads up. This wasn't an issue for me as I was getting takeout - and no one gave me a hard time for wearing a mask, btw - but I would definitely not dine in here. (As a side note, however, I'm not dining in anywhere right now.) We shared a burger both nights (very good, not quite great) with sweet potato fries (very good!) and the cheese curds appetizer (MUST ORDER!). I can't speak to their adult beverages as we already had those at the Airbnb. I would love to visit this place when the weather's nice and COVID is in our rearview mirror. I get it. Service industry is different now. BUT sometimes things are so bad they deserve 1 star. I am a very tolerant person but here was my experience. Walked in to get seated. (There's 10 open tables). After 7 minutes of confusion "we can't seat you because we don't have silverware." Me: ok no big deal we will wait. The next 20 minutes was followed by more confusion. One family forcing their way to being sat ahead of us, 2 pick up orders being told their food hasn't even been made yet, more confused looks, silverware finally comes out, zero communication, more confusion, and now 15 people waiting. Seriously life isn't that hard. Look people in their face, communicate, and do your job. I ran businesses out of college with 10x the volume and it really isn't that hard. Someone should buy this place and serve good food and have good service and you'd make millions. read more

Love this place! Great atmosphere, beautiful views, good food! Was very disappointed that we went at 6:00 on a Saturday, and they were already out of the prime rib (sat and sun only special) as well as the ribeye. Seems like they weren't prepared for the weekend. Other than that, the food was good and the views never disappoint! The chicken fried steak was HUGE and served piping hot. Very good! Love their dinner salads too - they are cold and crisp and the dressing is on the side, just like I like it! Will be back again and again - and hopefully next time, get their prime rib that we wait all week for!! Update: My husband surprised me last night with a personal dining experience that Pelicans did for Valentine's Day. I had to share this experience!! We were seated in a room away from the bar and usual restaurant and the room was decorated with lots of cute Valentines decorations. It consisted of three courses and we had a chef (Brian) come to our table and prepare the main course and dessert while we watched. The food was incredible and Brian cooked our Chateaubriand to perfection - perfect temperature, beautifully seasoned! I loved the nice salad and the naughty and delicious bananas Foster that we had for dessert, but the chateaubriand was the star of the show. The only thing special is it's location, this place good be great with more thought and care of the food it's serving. It's always busy on the weekends, but primary it's the location on the water and lack of competition. Just a peaceful place to sit and eat. The food is mostly really good. Steaks are great. Tres Amigos appetizer is always spot on. Sandwiches are good. Pork chops when they are cooked correctly are to die for. It's a tossup whether they are gonna be overlooked or not though. If you want someplace fun to have lunch, and you are a low COVID risk this is your place. I live in North Dallas and have driven up here several times. Nothing has changed. On the other hand, nothing has changed. No COVID distancing (the booth next to mine was filled) and no masks anywhere in sight. They had hand sanitizer at the cashier: Good job. The beer was cold, the waitress was pleasant and attentive, and the fish and chips ("Cod Basket") was okay. Of course, I drove an hour for the Reuben sandwich that they advertised on their outdated menu on their website. But hey, gotta be flexible these days. The service was ok, the setting and view was good. Unfortunately, the reason we came to Pelicans Landing was for good food. We were in the mood for steak so we ordered the most expensive one on the menu. I'm not sure I'm talented enough to convey just how horrible this steak was. First I want to say that it's not the chef's fault. We could tell that he had taken the meat tenderizing mallet and did the best he could to breathe some life into this worthless piece of meat. The senew and gristle were the reason the Heimlich maneuver was invented. Eating the steak actually made me fear for my life. Oh, and it was cold when it finally made it to the table. Why would management allow such horrible cuts of meat to be purchased and then served? It is better not to serve anything than to serve something this atrocious. read more

We had a large party of 9.. w/my father in law's limited mobility.. we were placed in the back room that had chairs on top of the tables that were NOT CLEANED OFF before we seated .. It has a pretty nice view. I should just leave it with that. I rode up from Dallas to try this place and it was a little disappointing. The views makes it pleasant but that's about it. The girl at the entrance was polite although you felt like you were bothering her to want to eat there. The waitress was friendly but messed up the order ... twice....and just about forgot about us. We had to go to the bar and ask for drink refills. The food, it was fine.... or rather unremarkable. Maybe it was an off day, however, I can't say I'd recommend this place to my friends. We had not been to Pelican's Landing since before 2020. The wait staff was very friendly. The food was great! My husband had the grilled chicken, which had excellent flavor. My daughter had the pesto chicken sandwich, which was also great. I had the wedge salad. Although the food was good, the drinks were not that great. My husband had an old fashioned, and I had a margarita. Warning: this is a dry county, so you do have to pay a $5 permit fee per table to drink. read more

Not sure what has happened at Pelicans. It used to be pretty descent place to have dinner. Now: not so much.... Wife had soup special Friday.She said the soup it tasted as if it were canned.
