Very disappointing experience, especially considering the high ratings…read more The employee was extremely rude and only allowed one sample spoon, which made the experience feel rushed and pressured. It didn't feel welcoming at all. The Italian ice itself didn't look fresh, but I still gave it a try. You also can't mix flavors, which is frustrating. I ordered two smalls, and it came out to $8, which is overpriced for what you get. The tangerine flavor tasted old and had a gummy texture, like it had clearly been frozen and refrozen. The sugar-free lemon was even worse -- it tasted like cardboard with an aftertaste that honestly reminded me of cigarette smoke. Shortly after eating it, my mom developed severe symptoms including intense stomach pain, nausea, gas, and ongoing digestive distress. That's what Mama Mia does for bagels, Kaiser rolls, Italian Christmas cookies, and more! The rainbow cookies were traveled and clearly not as fresh, and I imagine the bagels, etc. would suffer a bit from not being fresh either. Still, it's a nice alternative when you can't make the trip to NY yourself!
