I've been bringing my son here since his very first haircut, and we've never had any issues before. In the past, my son has had his hair cut by Erica, Raul (twice), and a few other barbers, and everything has always gone smoothly. This time was different. I signed my son up for a haircut and we waited about 40 minutes. When it was finally his turn, the barber only called my son's name once. I told my wife to go up while I grabbed my son. When my wife got there, she noticed that someone else was already sitting in the chair that was supposed to be for my son. She went to the front to check if there had been a mistake. When she explained the situation to the owner, Marcelo, his response was to raise his hands and shoulders and say, "I called your son's name." There was no attempt to resolve the issue or help fix the situation. What was disappointing is that the employee at the front who was charging customers actually understood the situation and tried to help us. Unfortunately, the owner didn't seem to care or take any responsibility. As a business owner, you would expect a little more effort to address problems like this, especially for customers who have been coming here for years. read more

At first my son would get really good haircuts, now they hired new people and they did a horrible job I don't recommend this place. I was a loyal customer until they chopped / butchered my son's hair when we asked another lady she said it looked okay I don't think this was okay. If you do plan on going ask for Maria she is the only stylist that knows how to cut hair this was my last time going there. 30 dollars for a cut that looks horrible so disappointed ! I went a few days ago to cut my daughter's hair with Francia. She's 5 months old but has a lottttt of hair so my husband and I decided to get her hair trimmed. Francia was incredibly sweet and patient with what my husband and I wanted and with our baby, who moves a lot. She's the kind of stylist who stops what she's doing and asks if you like the progress or if you want to go in a different direction, which I really like. She took her time to not hurt our daughter and in the end we loved her trim. The salon has a cute aesthetic to it, very clean and is fit for all little ones. If you decide to come here ask for Francia. We came from recommendation from my friend who also gets her son's hair cut with her and I'm so glad we listened! I had asked her how long she had been cutting hair for and she said she has 31 years experience. We could definitely see her technique. Been here about 6 times to have my grandson's haircut, yesterday was an Awful experience for my baby , young man w tattoos all down his arms w glasses(didn't get his name) cut his hair my baby cried saying he's hurting me, at no time did this young man asked what was hurting he continued to cut his hair as I comforted my grandson , when I got home I noticed he cut him on the neck, he didn't even line behind his neck or around his ears! I read the reviews before coming since I just don't like to choose anybody and decided to go with JEFFERSON. I love his work my child behave but at the end started getting fuzzy. He was patient with my child & was careful when using the machine, like he mentioned you have to treat children like your own. Got exactly what i wanted. Also, Very polite & Respectful. Definitely found my son's barber. Also the place has lots of machines to entertain your other children. I was a little hesitant to bring my nephew here after reading some of the reviews, but I'm so glad I did. My nephew has autism, and getting his hair cut is usually very difficult. As soon as we walked in, he was excited by all the cars and decorations, which helped him feel more comfortable. We didn't have an appointment but were seen in less than two minutes, which was such a relief. Jefferson did a wonderful job--he was patient, careful, and took his time, especially when my nephew started crying. I really appreciated the way he handled the situation with so much care and understanding. The haircut turned out perfect, exactly how I wanted it, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. I was nervous about not making an appointment since my toddler gets restless easily but it was pretty smooth on a weekday. Got there and checked in at the front and was given a stylist right away. Erica cut my son's hair and she was pretty great at handling him. I really do say great because my son was not having it... he was crying and not about it. This was my almost 4 year olds 1st cut and I'm riddled with guilt. She had the most beautiful long hair it was to her behind. I asked to cut 4in but looks more like 7 and clearly sooo choppy and uneven. She didn't move an inch the whole time so there is no excuse for this bad of a cut besides having no business cutting hair in the 1st place. Do not take your kids her. I took my daughter in for her very first haircut. Paid $38 for a wash, trim, and a braid. I was never offered the certificate, nor did they provide with the piece of hair being her very first haircut even after mentioning it to the lady who assisted us. Francia sat my daughter in one of those chairs with the cars, tv was off because she did not know how to operate it.. so she had my daughter sitting there starring at the screen, she the proceeded to move my daughter to the regular adult chair because she was not "able" to cut it on the car chair. After the "service" my daughter's hair looked ok.. it wasn't until I got home and it was night time, I put her hair up and realized how horrible her hair was. Please don't take your kids here. They discriminated my baby brother for having special needs. They didn't wanna cut his hair cause he was crying , they looked at him weird since we stepped inside the salon. And the lady in charge was no help. It's not the first time we take him here, I thought this was a safe place for kids with any condition but I guess I was wrong. The down part of this place is not the cost of the haircut. Its the price your going to waste on all the games and lil rides your going to spend on everything they have while you wait. I had been taking my 3 year old here since he was one, once he stating having trouble with sensory processing issues it became a bit harder but still we'd go here because it was all we knew. The last time the lady who always cuts his hair Rosa made a face when she saw him a face that showed me she didn't want to cut his hair so I left I didn't even allow them to cut my sons hair because who wants to be somewhere that you aren't wanted. We found a shop that caters specifically to kids with autism and sensory needs in Whittier and it was a great service. Made us feel welcomed and very understanding. We took our son here for a haircut, he was 11 months and we were nervous because he's not a fan of haircuts. The lady that cut his hair started singing so I think it distracted him and she started cutting real quick! He cried a little at the end but I think it was because other kids were screaming/crying that it scared him. The lady was trying her best to distract/comfort him. Although the parking is small, I did park in the alley behind just like the other patrons. I was so nervous coming here to have my daughter get a haircut. She has only gotten one ever and she has refused since which led to her hair being past her waist and incredibly hard to maintain. I brought her here and they sat her down, had her watch a movie and right away cut it at the length that was great to maintain. The price was excellent and the service was so great. Brought my daughter today as a walk in. The place we went to before has been closed down and moved. This place is awesome! Not only was there games and areas for kids to play but they gave my girls toys after the cut!! My daughter had such a good time and experience with her stylist Erica.
