New year, new you? About 12 percent of gym membership sales start in January but just a few weeks later those memberships are canceled. I bought a Peloton for a family member but they hardly used it. I vowed that I, who had never taken a spin class and didn't like to ride a bike, that I would use it. I am now in the midst of a 338-week streak with Peloton. More than just a well engineered piece of equipment, Peloton has a strong and supportive community, excellent instructors, an enormous library of content, and has also introduced me to strength, stretching, meditation, Pilates and yoga as well. My Peloton was a great investment. Purchase and delivery was from this location (a while back) and it was easy. I haven't had any malfunctions or repairs and updates are pretty seamless. If your gym is in your home you don't have any excuses not to work out. The content is always there and you could take classes for years and not ever repeat (or conversely you could take the same classes over and over too). read more

don't ever expect service from these people if you buy one of their products My peloton bike stopped working. It would not connect to allow me to do any rides. It was not a Wi-Fi issue. We tried troubleshooting - no improvement. We called to get phone support and after dealing with a rude and dismissive agent who acted like we were idiots but then every time she suggested something it didn't work kept saying I don't know why this won't work yeah lady we don't either. We were told we had to schedule a service call and that would cost over $100. we couldn't schedule it until it was paid for so we paid. Then there were no timeslots to choose. After multiple tries to get it scheduled, we finally called in a human who was finally able to schedule us. The service appointment was supposed to be today between 8 and 10 AM. When they didn't come by 10:15 we called. We were told that they would come and would call us when they're on their way. When they didn't show up by 1 pm we called again. Now we were told that they would have to reschedule - no explanation, no excuse, no rebate for the time he's taken from work to be there. I said that was unacceptable. They said they would have a supervisor call within 30 minutes. No call. Called again now they said oh we'll have some in there between 5 and 6 PM. It's now 630. No one's there called again. The agent now says the previous agents never made any sort of escalation. These people are clearly liars. They have no sense of customer service. Buy at your own risk. read more

I can't wait to be part an official member of the Peloton family! I LOVE indoor cycling, it's been the most effective and fun exercise for me. The only part I wasn't too happy about was my commute and having to work around the spin studios schedule. This is difficult to do when you are working full time and also in my case a student. I came into the store and explained to Cassie, my sales associate, that I wanted a Peloton. I had many questions and needed a couple accommodations. She answered all my questions, concerns and accommodated my biggest issue ,logistics. She assisted in delaying the arrival of my Peloton as I needed to figure out where I wanted to place it at home. She was so helpful and friendly! Thank you so much!! While at the store I was also able to try out the peloton and ride it. I decided to try a prerecorded class to see what the instructors and class was like. I went ahead purchased and picked out my cycling shoes, and accessory package. I recently downloaded the Peloton app on my phone so I could check out what my Peloton subscription is going to be like. I am going to have access to Cycling, running, outdoor, yoga, strength, cardio, walking, boot camp, meditation, stretching and strength whenever I want. There are prerecorded classes and live throughout the entire day. No more excuses to not workout everyday, unbelievably convenient at the comfort of my own home! Ordered our Pelton back in March - they were roughly 8-12 weeks out for delivery. Emailed us less than 24 hours before we were supposed to have the bike delivered saying they were not meeting their delivery. They credited our account $215. No phone call, nothing...just an unexplained credit with an email to follow. For $3,000 and four months shipping time...I expected the bike - not only could they not get me the $3000 bike I ordered...they couldn't even call. I work in logistics - I wouldn't have a job if I couldn't secure a delivery within 16 weeks. Give your money to someone else. Peleton doesn't give a damn about you. 10,000,000 other upper middle class people that they can sell their bike too. Plus the frame is made in China...roughly $30-40 bucks. This review is for the actual Peloton show room store at this location. I'm not reviewing on Peloton headquarters or corporate as some people have. My bf and I went in bc we wanted to check out the difference between the regular bike vs. bike plus. Everyone there was so sweet and helpful. Shout out to Nick for being patient with me and for answering all my questions. I'm glad Peloton offers show rooms so you can physically go to check it out before you purchase. I even got to get on the bike, try the shoes, and do a mock workout. This experience alone was 5 stars. Before this experience, I was dead set on purchasing the regular bike, NOT the bike plus and was not intending on purchasing the shoes either. BUYER BEWARE! I purchased the Peloton Tread on July 1, 2020. On July 21, 2020 the tread was delivered. I used the Tread for the first time on July 24, 2020 and I immediately received an error message. I called the support line and it was determined a repair was necessary, Peloton delivered a faulty tread. Although Peloton could deliver the tread I was informed repairs were not taking place. It is clear they are prioritizing sales over customer service. I finally was able to get a repair date on August 27, 2020, five weeks after the initial delivery and nearly two months after the order was placed. The servicemen arrived and after an hour the determined a new tread deck was necessary but they forgot to bring one on their van. They promised me they would be able to come back out within the next few days. I was informed their manager would call. Their manager never called. I reached out to customer service and was informed I would have to submit a request for a new repair but once again they were paused in my area. I was told simply have to "wait my turn". I submitted a request for a refund but they stated they cannot issue a refund until they can pick up the tread and they cannot pick up the tread at this time. Furthermore they do not know when they will have the ability to pick up the tread. I have requested a call back from a supervisor but was informed they are not doing call backs at this time. Ramy at this store is fantastic! I had done a bunch of research on the Peloton bike and was pretty ready to pull the trigger when I walked in the store. I'm pretty conservative with my spending but willing to invest in quality products that will make my life easier. As a new mom who doesn't have time to commute to gym classes this seems like the perfect fit. The customer service is fantastic. Ramy made me feel super confident in my decision. He got me in shoes, brought me water and set me up to try the bike. He even entertained my 3 month old while I tried the bike out. He customized the accessory recommendation to me (which doesn't seem like an option online) and promised to honor and Black Friday deals and gave me his cell phone if I had any questions. The whole process took about 15 minutes and I walked out with a bike on the way. The next day I saw on instagram Peloton was having a new deal. I texted him and he responded in minutes that he would honor the deal. It has been so long since I received that level of service! I purchased the tread+. Waited six weeks for delivery. They emailed the morning of delivery to postpone one day. The next day they didn't call or email, and did not show for delivery. I am on hold with customer service now. I have been on this call for 30 minutes. I am also being told that they can't give me a new delivery date. They had no problem take my $5k. This review is based on my first hand experience at the store located at the Oak Brook Mall. My advice - try the bike at the showroom, but buy everything online. I had a great experience when I stopped by at the store and purchased the bike. But I had a much less pleasant experience when I stopped by the 2nd time to purchase a pair of shoes from them. I found out they were defective and took them back to the store the next day. They gave me another pair and I saw a cleat had already been installed on one of them. I asked if they were returned, initially I was told they were not, but that didn't make sense to me because shoes don't come with cleats installed . Upon my further questioning, they said they were returned but not used. They also told me that these pair were a newer model. When I asked why they had sold me an older model just the day before, they told me the defective pair were the only pair available yesterday and the pair with cleat installed were returned by someone that morning. Hmmm, what a coincidence. Somehow the whole things didn't add up to me so I contacted their online support. I was told that returns are usually shipped back to Peloton, not to local stores, and the ones they gave me were older model, not new. Now I wonder if they actually sold me try-on shoes that looked clean. I shared my experience to the online support, they immediately said they would ship me a new pair. From now on I only trust Peloton online support. I love Peloton bike and have been using it almost daily. I believe the company is trying to do the right thing and take care of its customers. But its reputation can be easily damaged by their local store representatives, who I wonder if are more motivated to sell than to help their customers. This is a review of the Peloton Bike +. This bike costs approx. $2,500, plus $49.00 per month for membership. Without membership you cannot view the instructors. The saddle is based upon a medieval torture device. It is so hard and so uncomfortable. We purchased a gel cushion that covers the saddle and I wear bike shorts with built-in gel cushion. The saddle is now comfortable. The handle bars are too far forward forcing the rider to be in a bent-over position. This may be okay for a young person, but not for an older person that would greatly benefit from using this bike. The bike should have adjustable handlebars. This is a common issue that Peloton refuses to address. Peloton has had a recent issue with the screen flashing. Their solution is so convoluted. It goes something like this. First reboot your internet router. How many people know what a router is and where it is located? Next disconnect he bikes power cord, wait 15 seconds and then plug the cord into the outlet. Next you have to unplug the two cords from the screen. Hold the bike's power button and the volumn button down for 60 seconds. Plug the cords back in and the screen should light up. Use the volume button to select recovery. And so on and so on. Come-on!!!!! I paid a lot of money for this bike. I shouldn't have to perform some crazy work-around! This bike's software is not ready for final release. read more

I dislike the bike so much, I can't even put it into words but I will try. The cost of the bike itself, membership, toe clip-ins, delivery and return fees are absurd. The bike is not worth the money-it is also obnoxiously heavy so I can't even properly store it in my bedroom because I can't move it on the carpet. I tried to ride it and I did not even last 5 minutes because the seat is SO uncomfortable....and I'm not a big girl-I'm a size 7. I will just resort back to my $40/mo. full gym membership to get my work out in and like my fiancé' pointed out, the $500, yes $500 in shipping charges is better than the thousands paid for a product that I won't get use out of. I would like to conclude in saying that the customer service at the Oakbrook store is great when they are ringing up a sale, but they pull a disappearing act when you try to call them looking for support on your return. I called the store, on 2 different phone numbers, and left no less than 3 messages on the answering service on Tuesday upon my bike delivery to start the return process, and 2 days later I have yet to receive one call back. Luckily, I found the online support I was in need of, however, for simply this reason alone, not in regards to the bike not being a good fit nor investment for me, is the reason why I am writing this poor review for Peloton. read more

Just came from a really upsetting experience here. I've never felt so unwelcome in a store while contemplating a $2,300 purchase. The dark-haired girl could not be bothered to answer my questions, would not look me in the eye, and didn't even try to help me get information. All this while I'm telling her that I'm in the market for exactly what she's selling. When we left, my husband told me that she was looking me up and down, rolling her eyes. I'm not as fit as I'd like to be, but I'm an average sized woman and do not appreciate being made to feel like I'm too fat to shop for their fitness equipment. They definitely lost my money. If you are at all considering getting a Peloton bike and you can visit the showroom in person then I highly recommend you do. They are incredibly helpful there and the bike is fantastic. Be prepared to take at least part of a spin class when you show up so wear suitable clothes. Oh, and don't do what I did and head to the showroom after completing a 90 minute gym workout. Everyone I dealt with was extremely helpful and explained the Peloton bike in great detail. They spent all the time I needed to understand all aspects of the bike and the different spin classes. There were not any high pressure sales tactics and at no time did I feel that I had to make an instant decision. Something that I did that may be helpful for other people considering the on demand spin classes is that I downloaded the App on my tablet and signed up for a 14 day free trial (no credit card required). If you have access to any spin bike either from a friend or at a gym ( mine has 2) then you can try some of the classes and see how you like them. I guarantee it won't be as good as on the Peloton bike but at least you will get an idea of the different kinds of classes and the wide variety of instructors. You can also do some of the Beyond the Ride classes (no bike required) to see the different stretching, HIIT, Core and Yoga workout classes offered. I ended up purchasing the bike because I was heading back and forth to the gym 2 times a day. I like to break up my cardio and weight sessions. This way, I can do my spin classes starting at 5 am and then still hit the gym for my weight training session during my lunch break and if I desire I can get a 2nd spin class done in the evening before dinner. Also, I found that I had fallen into a rut with my cardio sessions at the gym and really wanted the interactive nature of spin classes again. I love the way the instructors call people out in class and help them push even harder. Oh, and they do have fun classes also. This past Sunday I did a sing along class which was lower intensity and a lot of fun. Got a call yesterday that I wouldn't get it until Dec 27th). They will tell you anything to sell a bike. When I contacted them I was told "that's a bummer". My review is for customer service for the company and not the store. I ordered my bike in March and was given a June 11th delivery date. I had several friends who were interested in ordering because of the pandemic and financing options they are offering. I was a first committer. My delivery date was far out but I figured, "okay." So, two of my friends ordered bikes at least a week and a half after me. They were given delivery dates in late July. This week (late May), BOTH of my friends were contacted that their bikes would be delivered this week. I have contacted Peloton by phone, email and their customer service chat. In all situations, NOBODY was able to give me an explanation why my friends were moved up on the delivery list SO far ahead of their delivery date. I asked to speak to a manager and was told I would have to wait 24 hours for that. One of my friends even was given a $250 credit because they made a mistake (minor) in their second delivery date. Have I been offered anything? Nope. Has anybody TRIED to get my bike sooner. The one things that really gets me is that one of my friends lives a block away. I was originally told that if a date opens up in my zip code that I would be granted that spot. WE HAVE THE SAME ZIP CODE. What do I get when I share this with them? Crickets. If you want to order the bike, do so. But know that you have the TIME and LUXURY of shopping around (Nordictrak, etc.) to see if there is a similar product that offers similar deals, at better pricing and will get the product to you with more care and timliness. read more

I've had a terrible experience with Peloton. I ordered my bike over 3 months ago, was unable to move up the delivery window due to COVID (which is understandable) and was told a day before my actual delivery date that they needed to reschedule my delivery and that I had to wait 72 hours for a call in order to reschedule. I took off work, I've waited 3 months and they have done nothing to help make this process easy. I would highly advice to not order a Peloton bike. Their customer service is extremely unhelpful and do not work with clients to make things right. I'm still waiting on a call back from the "leadership team" which I'm sure they will still not be able to give me an answer on when my bike will actually be delivered. read more

After 2.5 years I still feel this is the best investment in my health I have ever made. Exercise equipment usually becomes boring after a few months but I actually like this bike more now than in the beginning after I've refined exactly what I like. For me I like the 80's classes the best and Jennifer Jacobs is my favorite instructor but there are at least 5 other instructors that I enjoy also. I never liked any of the instructors or music when I used to do Spin in a gym. I've also recently started doing the 10 minute weight classes they have added which you can do on and off the bike. My wife doesn't like biking, but she is doing the yoga classes because we can cast the screen on to the 65" tv we have in the bike room so you don't have to be tied to the bike or it's screen. I can do 20 minute classes during the week when I get home from work and 45 minute classes on the weekend. They are also responsive to suggestions. Early on I emailed and asked if we could bookmark a ride right after it was over and a few months later that ability was added in a software update. Bookmarking classes you really like is a great feature so you can repeat your favorite rides if there's nothing new this week that looks good. And the best change they made this year is allowing you to view the full music playlist for each class before you take it! I was skeptical because of the price but it's been totally worth it and since I also bought myself a bench and barbell set I no longer pay for a gym membership. Peloton uses unfair business tactics. BEWARE! They will tell you that you can try the bike for a month and, if you don't like it, you can return it for a $250 fee. Nobody tells you, you will be responsible for $250 delivery fee and $250 return fee. It is $500 for a month equipment trial!!! Plus the membership fee of $39. The customer service is horrible! You will be transferred from one person to another, nobody will give you more than their first name ( no last name, initial, title/position at Peloton). If you ask to talk to someone more knowledgable, you will be told that there is no one else. Don't bother to ask for a manager name, or legal team - you won't get the answer. I personally can't justify plucking down $1995 and $39/month for a cool stationary bike with all the necessary, gimmicky and useful accouterments, but I know there are people who absolutely love the style of SoulCycle and/or Flywheel, but don't have the time to attend a class. Instead of attending classes at a "boutique" studio, you would have the bike and live classes in the comfort of your own abode. Staff at Peloton are super helpful and know their inventory and processes by the back of their hands. My husband thinks his will turn into a very expensive coat rack, but I have to disagree. This bike arrived and it is a dream come true. Before my son was born, I was a Spin class 5-6 days a week. Since he was born three years ago, I have been once. As a working mother, I just cannot justify additional time spent away from the house and let me just say...this bike is amazing. It transports you to some of the best classes in the country from the comfort of your own home. The experience purchasing it was simple, easy and, yes, expensive.
