Amazing first-ever stay at Peñasco del Sol! Booked the king…read moresuite with beach view and balcony, which is a one-bedroom with a pull-out sofa in the living room. Room was large and very clean; bed must have been a California king (since it was bigger than my king-sized bed). Kitchen area had a decent sized mini-fridge with an actual freezer, and a microwave. Interior walls are concrete/stucco, so I would imagine rooms are quiet even during the busy season. Our balcony was really only deep enough for standing room, not sure this is true for all rooms, but that was the only down-side. View was spectacular. All the staff was extremely friendly, and the bell person was especially informative. The included breakfast offered fairly minimal but well rounded selections; portions were ample--and delicious! They also offer an additional (paid) breakfast menu. Another on-site restaurant off of the casino area (La Arena 3C) was suuuuper good with amazing specials and happy hour pricing. On Taco Tuesday: three shrimp tacos and a chicken taco; three mini-quesadillas; a large bottle of jamaica aqua fresca; a beer; and a dessert special with two carajillos (coffee cocktails) and a small cake all came to $26.04. Ridiculous. We obviously ate there twice. There's a cute little "beach" area on the property just past the pool that overlooks the sea and has tables with umbrellas and lounge chairs, or daybeds. All with food/drink service. Perfect lounging (napping?) area. Since we were only visiting for two days we never left the resort property, and were perfectly happy with what was available to us. There is a drug store just across the street for water and other needs, but we brought all our own. Can't wait to come back and stay here again and explore the town!

Customer service was horrible. We paid almost 4K for 2 deluxe rooms and 2 master suite. They refuse to give me all 4 rooms and only gave me 3. Refuse to refund me . We requested lower levels or at least all In the same floor as we were traveling as a family ,we got them 1 in the 5th floor 3rd floor and second floor. At check out said they never took a deposit and they had taken $480 but couldn't find it . Literally every part of the stay was terrible . They said they didn't have valet parking but the guy outside said if we pay tune $500 pesos that he can tell receptionist to give it to us and then paid $30 each car for valet . I been staying at this hotel plenty of times in the past . Absolutely will never stay here again. Not sure how it changed so much in 1 month since our last stay was in early June of this year and in July it's totally changed. Never never never again!!!!

It was bumper to bumper traffic. This driver stopped on the middle of the highway parallel next to me with his blinker on blocking traffic behind him. As the traffic began to move so do I as I have been in this lane for already 20 mins waiting to exit and this driver began to merge into my lane as he was right next to me. He started to get into my lane parallel next to me. I blew my horn to alert the driver he is about to crash into me and he blew the horn aggressively back. He continued to merge into my lane causing me to swerve and almost hit the car in the lane to the right of me. He almost ran me off the road. Below is the pic of the bus who almost ran me off the road. I have called several times to Michelle and Laurie leaving them a message and I still have not gotten a single call back regarding this safety issue. I would not recommend this tour line as the drivers on their website states they've taken safety classes which is an obvious lie. They are not safe. They will drive you off the road not caring whether there are children in the vehicle or who they wreck into. I had my two 1 year old twins in the vehicle with me and they could have been injured if I wasn't driving safely and proactively against this aggressive bus driver from Gray Line bus tours. I will also be reporting to the better business bureau. This is a safety concern. Drivers are not allowed to stop in the middle of the highway and before merging lanes must be clear. This was NOT the case! Someone could have been injured but this reckless arrogant driver.

I have heard of this national monument before and have seen the sign pointing to it on the drive to Rocky Point on many occasions. I enjoyed my first visit to Organ Pipe National Monument. This location in Arizona is one of the only places where senita and organ pipe cactus grow in the wild. It is unfortunate that the park is so remote or I would have visited it earlier. It is located in Southern Arizona and at least a two-hour drive from Tucson. But it is well worth the trip. The park shares a border with Mexico. Organ Pipe National Monument has a nice visitor center with restrooms, exhibits, souvenirs and staff on hand to answer questions. It is named in honor of a fallen park ranger who was shot and killed by a drug smuggler. I used my National Park Pass to get into the park. There is a paved nature trail around the visitor center that has many examples of organ pipe cacti in all stages of development. I started my day off on the nature trail and enjoyed my introduction to the park on it. If you like to camp, Twin Peaks Campground is located just over one mile away from the Kris Eggle Visitor Center. I like to do a hike or two whenever I visit a national park or monument. There are a number of them on the Ajo Mountain Loop Drive and on the drive through the Puerto Blanco Mountains. The Bull Pasture/Estes Canyon and Arch Canyon Trails are a couple of popular hikes at Organ Pipe National Monument. I did the full 21-mile Ajo Moutain loop drive and stopped to hike the 1.2 miles roundtrip Arch Canyon Trail. It is an easy hike through a canyon that leads to an arch. Overall, I enjoyed my first visit to Organ Pipe National Monument and glad I took a day off to check it out.

I stayed at the Alamo campground to have more time for hiking. I did several nice, easy hikes and only saw a few other people. The stars were stunning at night.
