Costco patched up my tire. I told the guy to make sure to reset the tire pressure sensor after the work is done. When I got the car, the warning light was still on. The Costco tech told me that one or more of the sensors was likely busted but they don't have the sensors in stock. Yeah, I probably can just manually check the tires weekly but I'm used to the sensor. Today, I talked to Izzy over the phone, the owner at Peninsula Tires . Relayed to him what Costco told me. An after-market sensor cost about $80 & OEM is about $130-150 each. There are 5 sensors. He told me to drop by their shop so they can check. All the sensors were working fine. His son & another guy checked my tire pressure on all tires including my spare. Reset the sensors & they didn't charge me for anything. Just good old fashioned great deed & an impressed future customer. Out of real appreciation, tipped his son. So grateful there are still honest service providers around. Thank you!! read more

I wanted to support a local small business, so out of loyalty I chose Peninsula Tires. Unfortunately, that loyalty wasn't returned. I was charged $205 to replace a single TPMS sensor. Afterward, I learned the sensor itself typically costs around $10-$20. I completely understand paying for labor and expertise, but this repair took roughly 30-40 minutes, and the total charge felt excessive and unjustified. I don't mind paying fair prices for quality work, but I do mind feeling taken advantage of. If this is how loyal customers are treated, I won't be returning. These guys are awesome and helpful. I limped in a few months ago with a flat tire and, despite being busy, they helped me out in the parking lot. Fast forward a few months I was having some issues with vibration, so I thought I'd bring the car back in for them to take a look. Needed a same day alignment. They squeezed me in and were wrapped up in an hour. They did a great job and addressed all the issues, lining up the steering wheel and resolving the vibration I was experiencing while driving. A small chunk of the rubber from my tire came off from the curb as I was parking. I called Peninsula Tires and the guy told me I could bring in my car and someone would take a look - once I arrived, Alonso inspected the damaged tire - very friendly and attentive. After inspection, instead of trying to sell me a new tire, he said it should be fine and no replacement needed. But for peace of mind, if I wanted to get the tire replaced, he could place a special order (since my tire was not common) - would take only a day or two and gave me a quote.
