Stress free is FAR from what just happened to me. Your company caused me stress if anything. I made an appt online and received a confirmation. I arrived a few mins early for my 1pm appt today.. and then I was told that they could not complete my service because there was not enough time. Please tell me why I received a confirmation for my appt if this could not be done TODAY? Or if you knew ahead of time that it could NOT be possible, why did I not receive a call sometime BEFORE my appt? Their way of fixing the problem was to "accommodate me" by offering me a time tomorrow (a weekday). That sounds like you're accommodating yourself more so than me. That's convenient for YOU. There are people who can only get these kind of services done on the weekend, me included. Then they offered me their branch in Redwood City, but provided me with a Jiffylube address just to get me out the door. But wait.. TO TOP IT OFF, they offered me a "discount" the next time I could come in. The price they offered me was more than; if not the same price I would have paid TODAY for the service. How is that a "discount"? After respectfully trying to see what they could possibly offer to make this situation right...in every single aspect, this was accommodating YOUR COMPANY and NOT me, the customer. Why would I come back? To get denied for another service? I am totally taken back today with this situation. I really hope you put this into consideration for your company. I used to take my Hyundai Elantra here, and my husband started to take his Mazda3 here too after my experience. I hadn't needed to come for a while after switching cars but recently brought my Rivian to get the tire patched - they were super fast! They explained that there would be an extra labor charge for lifting up the Rivian, and what I could buy to have on hand to avoid the extra labor if there's ever another case where a shop doesn't already have it. I came in for an oil change and had some squeaking with my brakes so I needed a brake inspection done as well. They finished the inspection and oil change in about two hours and since I needed new brakes they waived the fee for the inspection. Very thorough service and Raymond at the front was very nice. They sent constant updates and everything is electronically tracked with the full breakdown of each service. Beware of faulty and misleading appointment system. When you call the number to make an appointment, the cheerful people on the phone have no idea what's going on in the shop and vice versa. They are not on site. I made an appointment, arrived on time, and the front desk guy told me they didn't have time until later. A mechanic happened to be in the lobby and said he'd squeeze me in. Then when I was waiting for my car, another customer walked in for his appointment and he was told they couldn't take his car at all that day and he would have to leave it overnight. Dude was pissed, and rightfully so. These people need to get their act together or they will continue to lose customers. read more

Stress Free did a long evaluation report and stated a lot things in my car are sub-optimal. Then I received a list of corresponding services and prices. A lot of the services are overkill to me. For example, a bushing is cracked. The recommended service is not replacing the bushing, but the whole system; the suspension cover is detached, recommend service is to replace the whole suspension. I am not a car expert so some maybe warranted, but I would suggest Stress Free calibrate their recommendations - since they pride themselves as to not stress out people. read more

This really IS stress free auto care haha made an appointment online to check my tire and hopefully repair it. The online system was super easy to use and told me who would be at the shop when I got there. Started off as a great interaction on Yelp scheduling a time to come in and the service I needed, which was to swap out winter tires for summer tires that I was providing. Staff named Devin stated that it would be 3-4 hours for "drop-off" appointments versus "waiting in-person" appointments which would be prioritized within an hour or so. Sunday was booked out for those so I agreed to a drop-off appointment at 8am, and coming back later to pick up. Sunday we come at opening (8:09am) to drop off and the guy made it sound like they only had two "appointments" like mine scheduled for the day. Informed us they would text us when the vehicle was finished, estimated 11:30am to noon. So far so good. We went to run some errands and grab lunch in the meantime. 12pm rolls around and still no text or call. We were in the area and decided to come wait in the lobby if they were almost finished. As we pull up, I can see that the car has not moved from the spot we left it in. The winter tires are still on the car. At this point, I'm upset because it was already past the promised time and the job wasn't even started. I call the shop to ask on the status and that's when the guy tells me they'll be done with it in the next hour and a half. I ask if there's any delay and he says they're just busy... like what? Why make commitments they can't follow through with? At this point, we were going to just take the car back and get it done elsewhere. When we return to the counter to retrieve the keys, the same guy that checked us in was saying he needed to go pull the car out from the garage... obviously this wasn't necessary because they hadn't even touched the car! I stated this and the guy has the audacity to say "maybe they pulled it in and just pulled it back outside"... like WHAT?? Why in the world would they take the car in, just to pull it back out? I could visibly see winter tires still installed and the guy still wanted to "verify the work wasn't already completed". The only reason I wasn't pissed off was because the guy at the counter was friendly, but clearly not the brightest. What a frickin joke. Don't bother with this place unless you want to be jerked around and have your time wasted. Went to Cesar's in Daly City and they took us in right away, 40 mins and all finished. read more

So happy they're open on Sundays! My brakes weren't working correctly and it was very scary to drive. They took the car in on Sunday afternoon, offered a full inspection, and even paid for a Lyft ride home for me. They were great at communicating with me and explaining what was wrong. I appreciate the transparency and explanations for the repairs that were necessary. They also gave me a heads up on future repairs needed that weren't urgent. The car was done by Tuesday morning, a whole day earlier than originally expected. Stress-Free auto care also paid for my Lyft ride back to the shop to pick up my car. Brakes work perfect now! And outside of the quality service done to the car, their customer service is top notch. I always keep a carabiner on my car keys. When I got the keys back, it wasn't there and I asked if they had it behind their desk. It wasn't there, and I figured that's okay, I'll go buy another one. They immediately offered to pay me for a new one, to which I politely declined. They texted me and asked me to send an Amazon link for a new one. So kind! They even provided a loaner vehicle when supply issues delayed delivery of a replacement transmission control module by a week. I brought in the tires for these guys to take off old tires and install new tires on the wheels on my Tesla. They scratched all 3 of my black Induction wheels while installing the tires. I'm driving very careful everyday and try not to scratch my Tesla Induction black wheels. But these guys scratched all 3 wheels. What a pain! If you have black wheels that need special care. I don't usually write long reviews, but I feel the need to share my full experience so other customers can make an informed decision. I came to this shop simply because my tire pressure light was on. I didn't know much about cars and wanted to try a new place. After a quick inspection, they handed me a list of nearly ten items that "urgently needed repair" -- total cost over $1,800. The way they described it made it sound dangerous not to fix. Since I didn't know better and was worried, I agreed to proceed. Later, I researched the items and realized some weren't necessary, and others were seriously overpriced compared to average Bay Area rates. The repair cost was starting to approach the value of my whole car -- I even started considering selling the vehicle instead. I called them first thing the next morning to cancel the repair -- only to be told it was already done. This was strange, because the day before, they said the work wouldn't be finished until 5 PM, and I had even asked if they could finish by 4. They said they would "try." That was the first red flag -- exaggerated urgency, inflated pricing, and misleading timelines. After picking up my car, unfortunately, I hit a curb and the sidewall of one of the new tires was damaged -- rubber was peeling off. I asked if there was any warranty or road hazard protection. Instead of being helpful, the manager's first reaction was defensive. He claimed the damage must have already been there and that they had photos to prove it. But I wasn't even talking about old wheel scratches -- I was clearly describing fresh tire damage that occurred after I picked the car up. It felt like he assumed I was trying to scam him -- which made me wonder how often they try to get away with things. Only dishonest people are that quick to assume dishonesty in others. Eventually, he did look at the tire and admitted it was damage to the sidewall, but insisted it wasn't their responsibility and offered no solution -- just that I could pay again to replace the tire. Ironically, the tires I had before which he said were more than 8 years old had hit curbs in the past and never had this kind of damage. But the brand-new tire they installed broke in just a day. That raises serious doubts about the tire quality or the installation. I didn't even want to replace my old tires -- they told me I had to because of their age. So I trusted them. And this is what I got. To top it off, the manager posted a public reply to my Google review saying they're happy to reach out to Toyo Tires on my behalf to check for road hazard coverage -- but they didn't leave any contact info, didn't email or call me, and I have no way to respond under his comment. It looks like a performative PR move rather than a sincere offer of help. Again it's about being misled, pressured, dismissed, and ultimately disrespected. I came in needing help and left feeling deceived. This place treats customers like they're naive and tries to upsell, manipulate, and cover their tracks with friendly-sounding but hollow promises. Would absolutely not recommend. Update: If you genuinely intend to help, please go ahead and contact the tire manufacturer as you said, and follow up with me directly. You have my email and my phone number on file -- I expect a response. Public replies without any real follow-up feel disingenuous. Actions speak louder than words. read more

Comical experience. Not recommended. I brought my car in with a known issue (worn CV axle boot) they didn't find that, but rather I had a list of unrelated problems they pulled out of their $$$. They were completely clueless I actually know my car even after I told them I was just simply too busy to mess with it. I let them change the oil, which I watched them look up online to order from an O'Reilly's and they marked it up 30%. I noticed it before I even gave them the keys but I let it happen. When I came to pick up I immediately took it to the dealership so they could actually do the repair I needed. Not only did they confirm their mishaps they let me look under the car to show them exactly what I requested was in plain sight. Had the dealership flush their oil out and did it again just because. I spent more just because I don't trust them. I thought I was helping small business, but instead I got the stereotypical car repair experience. Please don't respond asking to make this right, I will never revisit. Just take this review to heart and actually do good business for others. Perhaps you don't intend to do that and you read this with the defensive attitude you gave other customers. To that I can not help you, but karma will make things right. read more

Zain at the front desk is 5/5 stars. He was solid. And the service that was done to my car was good enough all they did was a belt change but didn't fix my problem completely. However, this shop is way more expensive than any shop has to be. While most shops either do a free diagnostic or deducts the cost from the service, they charge $300 just to see what's wrong with the car and they don't deduct that from the service. They also overcharged on the service period, but that wouldn't be as bad if not for the diagnostic cost. All I had to change was a belt and it cost me 750 (would have been 900 but they gave me 50% off the diagnostic for a special they were running). I had more issues with the same thing so I called to bring it back within a few weeks and they wanted to charge me again for diagnostic at full price even though I had my car serviced that month. Super straight forward and easy process, I'd completely recommend this location for people who need their car cared for. I booked an appointment for an alignment after getting new tires online via their website; took less than 10 minutes. Confirmation emails and texts were sent to me. On the day of the appointment, I dropped my car off right at opening and I was the first one in line (I love to do things when there's less people, I don't know how busy this location gets in the afternoon). Sanjeev took care of getting all the paperwork done. I originally scheduled my car to be picked up at 4PM, but I got a text that it was ready at 12PM. Gotta say even if they are busy, they get their work done! I received a detailed report as well outlining some basic checklist items (brakes, fluids, filters, etc). I didn't even know my Tie Rod needs to be replaced soon. This was all a courtesy check and they provided pictures for everything too. I really appreciated that. Price seemed reasonable and detailed reports with pictures. I'd say this place does seem to honor their "Stress-Free" name. For someone who usually works on their own car (I cannot align my tires myself LOL), I think this is a place I'd still take my car to for bigger repairs! read more

5 Stars review for this place. I haven't been to a mechanic for years since going electric. So I did a little Yelping and this place popped up. My Prius needed a shield installed after replacing a stolen catalytic converter. It was all pretty, well ... Stress-Free. I ordered the part and Stress-Free Auto Care installed it while I waited. Jerrod at the front desk was friendly and kept me posted on the status. The mechanic explained the install. All done in under an hour. The waiting room was bright, clean and comfy. Plenty of desks, plugs and wifi to keep you busy without your boss knowing you're at the shop. Coffee and the cleanest auto shop bathroom you'll ever find. I received a "checking in" follow-up text a week after to make sure to let them know if there are any questions or issues.
