Food was good. But the service was not very nice the waitress was twila. I wanted breakfast cause I was hungry for food and not for only a cinnamon roll. She said I don't have a cook.she gave me and my sister a cup of coffee. And my first cup of coffee was cold. So I asked for a new cup of coffee, when she slammed it down on the table it spilled and she walked away. We stopped here on a trip from Omaha to Salt Lake City. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. We ordered a variety of things from cinnamon rolls to burgers. Th were all great. The cinnamon roll was gigantic Then! On the return trip through Rawlins we stopped here again and had just the opposite experience. It took 20 minutes to get water. My husband and I were traveling and we stopped in Rawlins, WY. We stopped to eat at Penny's diner 5pm no cars in parking lot which seemed odd but the OPEN sign was on. We went in and was seated and then was told they had one cook it was on break and wouldn't be back for 45 minutes so we left. I know this is not there fault. Jeanette just wanted a ice cream sundae but since they were out of Peanuts so she gave us that in my bowl of chili for free. Penny said you can sit there for a week and leave anytime you want. Just stopped here with my 2 girls, place is open and there are lots of cars in the parking lot. I got to the front door and women goes we are closed and i was like ok and then she goes well unless you are with the hotel and i said im not then she rudely stats well then we are closed. Hubby and I stopped in (there is truck parking on other side of road), we were very happy with the service and the food! We each got a build your own omelette. They do put the hash browns inside the omelette, which was strange to us, at least until we tasted it. It was really really good and added to the great flavors. We stopped for a quick lunch on our way to Jackson, WY. I was welcomed as soon as I entered, and the staff was very friendly throughout my experience. We ordered the "Bacon Lover's Cheeseburger" and the "Triple-Decker Club" and I have to say it was delicious! The seating is right next to an open kitchen so we could watch the chef cook our food the whole time. He wore gloves and kept everything super clean. The presentation was nice as well. Classic breakfast at a classic diner! Rawlins was our Saturday overnight stop on the journey home to Arkansas. We had Sunday breakfast here which was very good. Typical diner which perfectly fit our need. Plenty of locals having breakfast, I believe we were the only 'tourist' which added to the pleasant experience. Friendly and prompt service. I randomly picked this place as somewhere to stop to have lunch as we were driving by Rawlins. My wife and I feel we made a good choice in this place. Yes, it's big selling point is that it is retro. Takes you back to the old style diners when you were growing up. Which is cool, I think so mainly cause we didn't have diners like this where I grew up. The food was good. The burgers are done right, cooked on a grill, not a flat top. The fries were crispy to the bite, but still tender on the inside. I liked the triple decker club. Dana, our waitress, won my heart when I ordered a cherry coke and she filled the bottom of the glass with cherries. I'm not talking two or three, there was enough there that my wife and I ate about five or six each. Loved that touch. She could do no wrong after that, and she didn't. This is one of the most unique diners we've found in our travels. It looks like a railroad car diner and the food is good old fashioned home cooking. They make their own giant cinnamon rolls and you won't want to pass them by. If you have the opportunity to watch the young cook you'll have a real show. This fella is outstanding as he handles all the short order cooking orders. The staff here is friendly and efficient and we highly recommend a stop here. They're open 24 hours as well!! read more

The food was totally fine and what you'd expect from a roadside diner in the middle of nowhere. This review is for the GM/ owner who spent the whole time we were there berating her employees who were both pleasant and working hard. There were mean signs for her employees that we could read from our table signed "Hitler" and "your step mom" telling employees not to use too many latex gloves and to "use come common sense and fill up the syrup bins". I dunno, seems pretty weird to word these this way and to treat your staff with so little respect right in front of customers. This lady should change her vibe or get a new gig, felt bad for the staff. read more

Well, it was a Sunday, there was 9 people dining and the wait for food was 45 minutes or so. New potential ( single as in one) diners coming in were told the wait for food was at least 35 minutes. Two turned around and left. Food was marginal, but okay. To be fair, there is a sign that says "they are short staffed". So...., anyway my dining companion asked for hash browns well done- they were barely warm. Toast was like eating bread right out of the bag. Not really toast! Several flies, place could use a cleaning, the cook did wear gloves ands changed them regularly. My food, 1 French toast, hash browns and bacon was okay for the price. Stopped here for dinner on a road trip. They offer mostly typical diner fare. I got their bacon lover cheeseburger and was happy with it. Cooked well, crispy bacon, and satisfying in terms of size. My wife ordered a philly with onion rings. She was disappointed; the sandwich was super greasy and did not tatse great. The onion rings were good and crispy, but just more grease. My glass of water was dry for half the meal. The waitress never came back. She was in the back taking loudly about how she hated the bar crowds and late hours of work. She didn't bring the ticket. The worst place ever! My fried mushrooms came to the table frozen solid. I spit it back into the basket and let the waitress know. She seemed annoyed I was complaining. She took the basket over to the cook, tested them herself and then let the cook know they were frozen. The cook let them sit for a bit and then threw them back in the fryer. We finished eating before our mushrooms came back to the table. Yes my chewed up mushroom was in the basket and they were way over cooked and still cold in the middle. Ya ever eat in one of those breakfast nooks that says try our skillet and you get it served on a plate anyway?this is one such place. HAD the skillet with sausage and it was huge. Also I noticed a huge pot on the stove that the head chef said it's chili. Oh man chili on my skillet would just kick ass. So he humoured me and gave me a laddle of that on top of my skillet. Spool on one.plate I had eggs, fried potatoes, tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, sausage, (catching my breath) and chili...oh and a bunch of cheese. Like a cake of cheese. Awesome. I have to concur. So 3 stars it is. Had the bacon lovers cheeseburger and fries. My bun was soggy and it was supposed to have 4 slices of bacon and it looked like 3 folded in half. The child's portion of fries were crispy at least. Had to ask for a refill on my drink and ask for napkins. There was no ketchup to the left or right of me so I asked for some.
