(I spend about $18,000 a year in renting trucks, so I'm an expert at this stuff. "This is the…read morenice/watered down version". It would actually take a small book for me to explain the many nuances of issues I had to face and attitudes I overcame with the many different people I interacted with in this organization) - I rented a 16' box truck and drove 1 hour to client which had a load for me to haul. The client asked me to move truck closer to building, when I tried to start truck, it was completely dead. The alternator was bad, not the battery.(I am a certified mechanic) When I called for replacement vehicle, the location I rented it from made me call the 800 service number. I was on hold for 22 minutes. When he answered, he told me I could not get a truck swapped out, I must have service come see the truck. When asked how long that would be, it was 2 to 4 hours. I said that wouldn't work. He hung up on me. I called the local regional office near where I was broke down and demanded they swap trucks. The local agent close to my breakdown said no problem to swap out, but was trying to charge me their standard rates. So I called my regional sales agent who had gotten me special contract pricing due to the amount of rentals I use every year. I had to fight with both regional offices to work that out. The problem came when both the local agent and local manager promised me someone was already dispatched and on there way, and I had to call back 4 times during a 6 hour period before they finally arrived. For reference, I was exactly 2.8 miles from their office! When the truck finally arrived, they didn't have me sign any paperwork or anything. Thy guy jumped out of truck, jumped into a waiting van and split! Didn't check my driver's license to make sure it was me, or anything. This 16' box truck was newer and the trip went fine. Due to my original issues, I wanted to make sure I would not be charged any additional money since I had to wait over 8 hours for the new truck. (they actually cost me around $650 because of this issue, but I was more worried about the long term relationship with my client). The regional office that wrote my original contract had to fight with that other regional office, and after around 4 to 6 hours, they called me and told me they had finally worked it out. I was just to drive it back to my original place of rental and they would work everything else out on their end. I would not be charged for the truck. Today, which has been 24 hours since returning the truck, I get an inspection form showing around 15 to 16 points of supposed damage on the truck they swapped me out with and now I am fighting potential claims, as well as these being added to my record on their database. Which not one scratch was put on vehicle by me. I have a perfect driving record with Enterprise and Budget truck rentals over the past 12 years. The original contracting agent and I know, what they did was not put any previous markings down, and now they're trying to potentially hold me accountable for all previous damage on this vehicle. The only person in this whole scenario who was trying to help me was the original contracting agent. Everyone else had 'zero" care about taking care of me as a customer. As a small business owner and a business coach, there are just way too many red flags here and if you rent from these guys, make sure you check every single thing there is. From the document, to the truck to the entire nuance of your trip. I rent trucks from multiple other sources and I have never experienced such a degraded level of customer service in this industry. Even Uhaul which some claim to be the worse, has given me better service than this.

Came in the morning to pick up the truck, was in and out in 20 mins! Super easy, since most of the application, documentation is done online. Lovely gentlemen helped us get the truck with good functioning door, explained the rules, details! Very pleasant. These trucks are much better than other trucks, since I was doing the move myself, the trucks have all the features I needed, backup camera even. Loved it. Returned the truck the same day at fhe location and dropped the key in the drop-off box, next day I got email with final price (based on miles) and the deposit was returned on my card ($150 temp hold). Great truck, service and good people at this location.

I've tried UHaul (and been disappointed) due to strange fees, poor upkeep on their trucks (tires, doors, windows, you name it). I think this location is a contractor for Penske and they are really helpful and easy to deal with. Their rates were very competitive and they didn't charge extra to drop off the truck after hours. It was the first time I called a moving location and got a human voice instead of a recorded machine telling me which number to select. The man who answered was really helpful because he told me all the charges up front and was straightforward about what would incur additional fees. I'm happy I used Penske and would use them again! Maybe they were $30-40 more than UHaul, but I didn't have to deal with any of the crap that comes with using UHaul.

Hard to say enough good things about this place…read more Allen, the Penske representative at this office, was very accommodating and friendly. We picked up our truck right during a power outage right after a storm, and he was working hard to process everything by hand and make our return process on the other end as smooth as possible. He got us into our truck and patiently showed us how to use the relatively complicated trailer we had rented. The truck was literally brand new - it had less than 150 miles on the odometer. He also let us leave our car and trailer there while we packed the truck, making it much easier to maneuver through downtown D.C. We will definitely rent from Penske in the future, and this location is excellent.

I…read moreasked the agent, Garrett Gravanda, if he had a reservation for a box truck (which ultimately had a license number 4FA1383 MD). He confirmed he did; I asked if he showed that I had already paid $601.21 toward renting the box truck. He said they don't take money ahead of time. So, the money I had paid was apparently to a scammer impersonating Enterprise--although I had the reservation there which seemed odd. Garrett Gravanda decided he was going to start over with a new reservation. I asked if I was still going to get the unlimited mileage I was quoted, he said no, they charge $ 0.29 per mile. My son, my additional driver, asked if we could use his company's discount code to get a better price. Mr. Gravanda found the code in their data base and said he could give us a $ 0.19 per mile rate. We agreed on that rate and Garrett Gravanda told me to drop off the truck to the Enterprise location at Coors Blvd, Albuquerque, NM when we completed our trip. I was instructed by Garrett Gravanda that the truck had 3/4 of a tank of fuel, and to drop it off with 3/4 of a tank. I asked about the amount of Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) in the tank, appearing to be about 3/8 full. Garrett responded that I just keep the receipts for the DEF and I'll be reimbursed. On 24 April 2024, I returned the truck to Enterprise in Albuquerque, NM as instructed with 3/4 of a tank of fuel. The agent, Bryan Clark, told me it passed his inspection and that the Laurel, MD location would need to close out the contract. At that point I saw some discrepancies in the bill. I explained that I was not being charged $0.19 / mile (as agreed) and I was supposed to be reimbursed for the DEF (after presenting 2 receipts for DEF) and that was not reflected in the bill. When I dropped off the truck I was told the GPS tracker on the truck provides Enterprise with the number of gallons of fuel in the tank (which doesn't make sense since a tracker provides position not fuel-level), this resulted in another illegitimate refueling charge for 1.7 gallons at $6.05 per gallon. I called the Laurel, MD Enterprise office and spoke to Danielle Johnson, the branch manager, and she told me she was expecting the truck to be returned to Laurel MD. I told her this was incorrect and that we had informed Mr. Gravanda (in Laurel MD) where we were going to drop off the truck and he agreed. She got Garrett Gravanda on the phone who denied any knowledge of dropping off the truck in Albuquerque. Danielle Johnson told me she would call me back later that day or the next day (24 or 25 Apr 2024), but she never did. Upon not getting any further communication from Danielle Johnson, I decided to look at my charges on my credit card; I noticed I was charged $811.20 by Enterprise on 24 Apr 2024. With no communication from Enterprise, I had to assume this is the final charge. On 7 May, my son received a notice from his employer stating Enterprise claimed he had rented a box truck using my son's company charge card for the amount of $841.47. My son did not rent a box truck, nor did he provide his company card to be used for payment. The only explanation we can determine from this is that when my son showed his ID to confirm that he qualified for a discount, the Enterprise agent stole his number and used it to make a claim. This is fraud! I travel 3 months out of the year and rent vehicles on a regular basis. I have never had difficulty with a rental company, prior to this. I will NEVER rent from Enterprise again.

Overall, my move was a little over $800 (took about 5 hours with 2 movers for a local move from a 3-story townhome to a 2-story condo ) and I gave a generous tip considering the amount of work they did. I had one issue with the frankly crappy reassembly of my captain's bed. When the movers left, the bed was bowed, drawers would not close completely and the slats were falling out or not fitting in at all. I reported the problem to Serena and it was corrected promptly. A crew came and reassembled the bed to eliminate the problems. Finally, Serena is the best. She is responsive, knowledgeable, friendly and very easy to work with. I would recommend this business almost entirely as a result of the superior service she provided.
